I like the new forum look. And Fyron's comment finally allows me to exercise what I've believe all along: Fyron has no taste. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

Slynky - why not use a .gif with transparency?

I definitely prefer the new look. Cleaner, cooler, a bit more discrete (important for work browsing http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif ).

Also, I notice the bullet logo disappeared a while ago without comment. I remember the debate when it first appeared as to whether it was appropriate or tasteful.

Compare if you dare,
Transparent/Original

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Well, that's only slightly jaggy. How'd you get it so close to being smooth?

Yes, the slight jagginess now wins the "race". Thanks, David!

PS: Also, looking at the new color scheme, I think my "Trithian Revenge" looks better with it.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">No, I didn't. Actually, I was "wrestling" with the profile stuff. When you add an email reference in your profile, it converts it to HTML tag...then, if you edit again, the HTML tag gets "tossed" for some reason. SO, I was having other fun and didn't notice.

Thanks mucho again!

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">I took a snapshot of the forum page to get a copy of the two alternating colors and then nibbled away the (offending) pixels.

If your logo was created with a background color that is 'between' the to alternating colors I could probably make it look even smoother.

But I did what I could with what I had. I'm glad you like the latest 'Transparent' Version.

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

EDIT: here is an example of what I mean by a midtone background color..

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Actually it had nothing to do with that, it just didn't fit the new design.

Don't mind me, I'm just testing out a camoflage tile pattern... (it might look good as a backdrop to the shrapnel pages.)

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/newup...1064849887.gif

What do you think?

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Edit: Just did a test and if used as the backdrop it looks too busy. but it is a nice fill. I'll file it with all my other unused stuff. you never know when it will come in handy.
