At least you do not plan to destroy Earth in order to pave the way for an intergalactic expressway, do you?

Provided you do not indulge in planning such a thing, I would reckon you will be fine, as you merely killed, what, a few billion aliens? Such accidents happen all the time, and it would be hypocritical to consider you were actually responsible for the wicked twists of fate.

(The fact that I am myself likely to be charged for such a crime has nothing to do with my eagerness to defend an estimated colleague... erh, I mean, Raging Deadstar. I am speaking the truth, and not defending my own interest and above all, my own hide.)

Im reminded of an old conversation over a game of Battletech. One of our regulars was working on painting (beautiful work, by the way) a batallion of Jade Falcon mechs, and he was about one company (12 mechs) into it. oh wait, clan groupings.. um, one cluster is 5 stars is 25 mechs? hell, i cant remember. he was about 1/3rd done with a total sellection of about 50-70 minis.

thats not the point. Someone made an off the cuff comment about the Falcons being a bunch of punks, senseless butchers, war criminals, and all arround un-nice people.

The Falcon player responded that it was nothing but a bunch of lies and propoganda, and that if you went to the planet of Turtle Bay and asked ANY of the citizens of Edo, not ONE of them would have a SINGLE bad thing to say about their Jade Falcon occupiers.

Of course, the accuser had a ready response to this, but if you know anything about the battletech storyline then you already get the joke.

Hopefully, you still have some tea at the very least, even if you managed to lose your towel. I mean, how are your beloved citizens supposed to trust you if you no longer have your towel? And remember the upcoming elections, where you will compete with a certain Raging Deadstar. (How peculiar, your namesake happens to be part of these elections as well.)

This being said, I do understand your concern, for such beings are truly best kept away from your soldiers. Otherwise, you might find half your army suddenly more interested in arts and other similar frivolities than in conquest, war and extermination. However, artists are obviously needed in your own planets, as who else will be able to finish your humble self-portrait at home? After all, such a statue depicting yourself over more than one hundred meters will require many hands to be finished before your demise.

Lastly, I urge you to remain wary of the tremendous function called "Move", as it unfortunately happens to initiate a battle even if your two hundred dreadnoughts merely wanted to trade with the natives of this world. How often did I destroy such wonderful worlds because the planetary defences fired on my poorly protected traders! The said traders had a limited authorization to return fire in order to save themselves from the treacherous inhabitants of this world.

Nonetheless, such is the way of early contacts between civilizations in the era of space travel, the bane of all peaceful leaders who became ruthless dictators overnight because of this perfidious function!

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes, my nice, peace-loving fleet of dreadnoughts full of happy tourists just wanted to stop by at a planet for a friendly picnic, and whoa! the planet starts firing on us! We regretfully had to incinerate the planet surface to save ourselves from the brutal and unexpected attack!
