Re: The SE IV Companion 0.80 Beta Released
I think I know why the event editor crashed, actually... it was probably because I was playing as player zero as I hadn't set a player yet http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/redface.gif

Re: The SE IV Companion 0.80 Beta Released
It shouldn crash anyway, as player 0 is event edit as host, as player unknown (21) it shouldn't start.
Will fix. Coming soon: 0.82 Added: -Enabled Icon alert. -ToDo list of turns currently not uploaded to the PBW server. -Backup of turn zips and playerfiles, settable amount 0-100 turns. -Now works on ver 1.60, 1.67, 1.78. 1.84 and 1.91 -Flashes task bar button for attention. -A new settings button to set up your PBW site settings at the PBW site(!) -Grabs player number from PBW if no .plr file has been found on the disk. Bugfixes: -Could not parse Sweetmod. -Minimize button didn't work, neither was it possible to maximize if minized to tray. -Download logs didn't log on error. -Hung if illegal Modinfo.txt was found. -Autorun made app autostart at all Users, now only on user basis. -Didn't accept PBW usernames/passwords with spaces. -Allowed uploads of local games to PBW, even tried to autoupload some. -If Downloads failed, dl.exe wouldn't stop, now times out after 20 minutes. -Crashed when attemptinmg to check for updates. |
Re: The SE IV Companion 0.80 Beta Released
Oh, I found the button that lets you select a player - it was marked "Host" and I didn't click it because I was afraid it would host a turn! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/redface.gif
Maybe that button needs to be relabeled? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif Edit: Any reason I can't get a combat replay in any of my games? Are the files not being extracted from the zip archive? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif |
Re: The SE IV Companion 0.80 Beta Released
It should unpack all files.
Try deleting the old .cmb file and see if it unpacks the new one. Or enable download logs and check the download log for that game, it should say that it unpacks the .cmb file and where it puts the files. I see no reason that it shouldn't unpack the .cmb file... (perhaps a bug?) About the button, I'll make a hint for it. If it finds a gam file but no .plr file it chooses "Unknown player". I fit finds a PBW turn but no files it chooses host. I'll make it try to grab playernumber from PBW aswell instead of choosing host. |

New Version 0.82:
0.82 Added: -Enabled Icon alert. -Shows Last scantime in Gamecomp. Can be found here for now: (For future updates, use the apps inbuilt update check!) http://ruatha.homelinux.org/companion082.zip Tomorrow is the IRC chat wit Aaron, make sure to press the IRC Setup button to be able to join that, you don't need any special info to set up IRC, just press it and check the show and use IRC boxes and perhaps later on the join button to join the channel! Sj when you upload it to the imagemod server, upload this aswell (new Version) http://ruatha.homelinux.org/ver.txt The ver.txt file is what the app checks for to see if there is a new update availible. (so far 32 downloads of previous Versions 0.8-0.81 from my server, not counting imagemod server) EDIT: Known issues: -IRC reconnects at closure of settings screen, fixed in v 0.83 -IRC reconnects when maximizing from minimized state, fixed in ver 0.83 -In next Version: Deleted the "autorun-game" radiogroup from main window to lessen clutter. |

EDIT: Just found a new (but fairly inconsequential) bug: On a fresh install go to the options screen, then click the IRC options button. Now click "cancel" repeatedly, only clicking OK to the "select channel to join" screen. Now go back to the main screen and try to join IRC. It messes thing right up... |
Re: The SE IV Companion 0.80 Beta Released
I've fixed the IRC bug when quitting settings screen in ver 0.83, see your PM, there's the first in the DOGSCOFF series plugins aswell, is it what you thought of?
Click on a file in the left( Forgot all labels...) to see the pictures, check those you wish to copy and press copy. |

(For future updates, use the apps inbuilt update check!) ??
I must be blind, I cannot see any button to 'update the program' Help! (I think a v0.83 is available now right? Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif |
Re: The SE IV Companion 0.80 Beta Released
David, go to the settings screen and then to the application settings screen. In there is a check box saying "check for update at application start" just check the box and away you go. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: The SE IV Companion 0.80 Beta Released
Ok, I went there, did that, but it doesn't appear to do anything at startup. Aside from telling me it has been started up xx times.
Oh well, perhaps the v0.83 is not up yet. Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif |
