Re: Windows 11
I have a question for anyone using Windows 11. I tried to add a couple of icons for prototype U.S. tanks that I have downloaded over the years to RecruitMonty's Das Reich mod with SHPEdit. The icons appear correctly in WinSPMBT, but are distorted in MOBHack. I tried adding some other icons to my clean install of the game and had the same result. Has anyone else had this happen?

This is a screen shot of what I mean. Forgot to add it to my previous post.

Re: Windows 11
No idea, other than something is different (but still compatible with the game) structurally in those SHPs. It may be something as simple as being an odd number of pixels wider or higher etc when the mobhack SHP code is expecting even row or column counts, say. Check the height and width of them compared to icon sizes we use perhaps?
(The Mobhack SHP code is some Delphi that a user (I cannot recollect who now) provided to me waay back in the MSDOS days as a library package and I have absolutely no idea what it is doing internally, I just happily used it "cuz it works"!) |
Re: Windows 11
Post the original Turret and Hull icons you show in post 32 here the same way they were entered into the SHP file and not as a screenshot taken from Mobhack. Better still, zip up both the hull and turret SHPs to that icon and post them on this thread
I have seen similar results like that in in the past, but I want the original SHP for the Turret and the Hull |

Here it is. I used Icon0116.shp, the icon number is 4255. I have also included the .bmp files.

Re: Windows 11
the .bmp files are too small they need to be 89x89 pixels.
(the problem usually occurs when you get mobhack to export images then edit them [as mobhack gives a 88x88 image] and re insert). add a single pixel column and row of "pink" to the image and re import. Should (fingers crossed) work |
Re: Windows 11
Scorpio is 100% correct. 88x88 will do that and both that hull and turret are 88x88
Make them 89x89 then put them back in their SHP file Don |
Re: Windows 11
Thank you DRG and scorpio rocks, this fixed the problem! Sorry to bother you with this DRG. I know what your are dealing with at the moment. I've put dozens of icons that I have downloaded from the Mods page into my personal versions of WinSPMBT and WinSPWW2 over the years and this is the first time I have had this happen. I was afraid that the March cumulative update for Windows 11 had screwed up SHPEdit. Get well soon DRG.
