I have to admit i wasn't too keen on the new ships but the "fighters" are amazing. I agree with everyone else that maybe you should base them as the ships, they have a deadly kind of look to them http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Seriously, they do not look tholian to me, but they do look kinda like Stardestroyers from star wars.
