Anyway, thanks for the compliment, I will assume u were not trying to cause dissension amongst me and my water brothers...

It is too early to say who I will befriend or ally with, but it seems a good idea to me, if us water dwellers get on and raid the lands of the earth walkers. After all, if we mess up on land, we can always retreat to the safety of the depths...

Sure but if you mess up on land, there's no reason your fellow water walkers can't just take advantage of that so you have no more depth to retreat to ... =)

Great prophet gives advice to servants of false gods: bones of unholy birdmen break easily. They flitter about fast, but do little else. Like all beings that lack holy scaled form, they are prone to despair, so killing them is a kindness.

VP's are granted every summer. The game started in the Spring. After the first summer, it will be every 12 turns.

Man, I seem to be improving: in DDD it took until around turn 10 before folks were all 'waah, waah, Jurri's winning, waah', while now 5 turns is enough? Meglo, I take back what I said: it takes quite a huge amount of ball-lessness to be calling winners on turn 5, unless it's in self-elevation, like this: I bet on Caelum to win! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Kärmes is dead! The first of many false gods.

Haw haw, I'm sure that the pretender, Kärmes, deserved everything it got... Do share the grimy details, o prophet with the silvery tongue!

That is assuming someone didn't already cut it; a pleasure I was looking forward to myself, so I understand completely if someone else saw the glint of that silvery slab of meat and couldn't resist the temptation.

The great serpent has two heads: life and death. They argue with each other constantly about which is more holy: to live and writhe, or to die and then return from the sunless lands at the call of his children. Sometimes death wins the argument.

Cool, I am off work this week, so could probably keep up the 1/turn a day turnaround. What does everyone else think, especially our host? Keep the fast pace up till someone squeals or go to the 3/turns per week?

I'm away from 21th-26th november and can't make a turn.

I'll make my tuesday turn, will miss the thursday turn and i'm back on sunday to make my sunday turn.

So my thursday turn will definitly missed! the rest should work fine.

I'm ok with 1 turn per day, but not before november 26 (because i've planed with the 3 days/week).

I think we should stick to 1 per day as long as possible. 3 turns a week is so slow most games die before they are finished with such a pace...

Fair enough.

I only mean't for this week as I have alot of free time. Normally when I am at work, 3/turns a week is more than enough. Still managing to do my turns in just 10 - 15 mins tops. Perhaps I am overlooking something?

The army's of oceania march closer to the center of the world and letting the cowardly nation of Rlyeh run before them.

I think consistency of hosting is as important, if not more so, than frequency for maintaining interest. It seems that most games run into trouble when hosting is delayed indefinitely when a player drops out, we try to find a substitute, etc. If I have to repeatedly check for a new turn for a week or more after the last scheduled host, I find myself much less interested in the game when it finally resumes. On the other hand, if a game is scheduled to host only once every few days, and consistently follows that routine, I have no problem keeping my interest level up. It is a big boon to have longer times between hosts in late stages of the game, as turns take longer and longer to complete.
