It really seems to be the height of douchebaggery to leave your turns to stale when you're done with a game. If you lose at a game, just set yourself to AI and save everyone the trouble.

Re: I leave all the games I\'m in...

In the meantime, in the lands of Tien Chi:

Emperor went mad! Griefing over losing wars to 3 enemies at once, most of his lands of conquered, a senseless rage has come over the Highest One. Throughout the empire, forts are deconstructed, laboratories burned down, peasants slaughtered. Money and magic gems sent abroad, perhaps in preparation for the emperor and his family to escape in the confusion...
Thus the empire burns as the end is coming near...

Re: I leave all the games I\'m in...

It's not often that a fully decked out Air Queen falls to a single astral-3 mage casting Opposition.

Doubt not the luck of the apes.

Re: I leave all the games I\'m in...

Wraith, what is the status of the dispel? The offending global is going into its third turn very shortly. I hope you have enough gems. The people of Mictlan even alchemized to make sure they could deliver the 50 promised pearls.

I can't connect either

Got a "bad pillager" message... and it crashed.

FYI, I don't monitor this thread really, so your best bet it so post no connect info to my server info thread.

The Deal

I'm working on the game... something is corrupted or bugged...

Velusion July 15th, 2007 02:05 AM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

I've narrowed it down. The problem is with Bander Log's turn file. It is making the game crash on generation with a error that simply says "Bad Pillager" when it is calculating something related to income.

Sandman I'm going to have ask you to redo your turn. You might want to lay off any pillaging (or change it somehow) to avoid this error. Please PM me when you have it complete and I'll force the turn to generate.

Sandman July 15th, 2007 03:51 AM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

I'm not doing any pillaging. Might be a bug relating to T'ien Ch'i's heavy use of spies against me.

I was using 'move and patrol' with the Flying Ship, I can imagine that might be bugged. I've scrapped those orders, so maybe try again?

Velusion July 15th, 2007 04:17 AM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

That wasn't enough apparently. What you'll need to do is actually delete the turn file from your savedgame/afterthought folder (or just delete the folder). Reconnect and redownload the turn and do it over from scratch. IF that doesn't work we'll have to think of something else.

Szumo July 15th, 2007 05:25 AM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

I'm doing a lot of pillaging though. Perhaps it's a problem with my turn file (Tien Chi)?

Sandman July 15th, 2007 06:19 AM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

I've deleted my turn as suggested, and resubmitted a 'no frills' version. Any luck?

Velusion July 15th, 2007 11:08 AM

Looks fixed!

Thanks Sandman!

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

so it's confirmed that the bug is with the move and patrol command with the flying ship? strange bug.

Velusion July 15th, 2007 10:39 PM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

No, it wasn't that. I'm not sure what it was.

Baalz July 16th, 2007 05:26 PM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

Wow, T'ien Ch'i certainly managed to crap all over itself before anybody could eat it. Close to 500 unrest in many of the territories...wonder what the population *used* to be in this neck of the woods....

I will be out of town with no email/internet access Friday-Sunday (July20-July22).

Any chance of a time extension? This game is getting quite complicated.

Velusion July 22nd, 2007 06:34 PM

extension as in - extend the game turn permenently?

BTW what nation is Sleet?

Sub for Atlantis.

Szumo July 24th, 2007 02:00 PM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

This is amazing. I was ready to set myself to AI already a few turns ago, after losing all my castles, most provinces and pretty much every summoned creatures except a few under equipped Tartarians, and now my revenge pillaging armies not only managed to raise unrest in several of Bandar Log provinces to 500 and leave only quarter of their population alive, they managed to catch their Oracle pretender, kill her and so take out the his global Eyes of God http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

And i hope R'lyeh likes his new lands, pillaged and with most labs burned to the ground http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Going out with a bang sure is fun http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Baalz July 24th, 2007 02:11 PM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

Yep, even with 0 taxes there is a good chance this game will be over before those provinces are good for anything other than gems. Good thing that's all I really wanted them for or I'd be considerably irritated.

Atlantian lands are now becoming part of Unknown Kadath. Our quests to become insane enough.

We are having some fun trying out wild and crazy spells as well as some not so sane strategies. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/stupid.gif

Baalz July 27th, 2007 04:36 PM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era

*sigh*, you're supposed to go insane when LA R'yleh invades you, not MA! People's kings just seem to go insane when I step over their border. I'll have to try and swallow you whole before you can do too much damage.

Sleet July 27th, 2007 06:37 PM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era

Well with all the creepy crawlies you have poppin' in all over the place, us Atlantians are going insane before you R'ylehians get to LA. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Looks like we might have the crashing error again in this game. Can you guys confirm to me that is should have hosted? I see ULM hasn't taken his turn yet.. can I host without him?

Now that was just a silly thing to cast.

Sandman July 30th, 2007 06:06 AM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

Well, it certainly won't make any difference to the outcome of the game.

Atlantis.
Sorry, due to computer issues, won't be able to get turn done in time. Would not be able to get done until tonight. (8pm PST)
Not that there is much for me to do except use a pin against the big beasts. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

OK, I'm all for declaring R'lyeh the winner. His gem advantage is overwhelming.

Baalz August 2nd, 2007 07:50 PM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

If it makes a difference I'm casting Eternal Pyre this turn and Well of Misery next (dispelling GoH this turn to make a slot) and have dozens of clams/fever fetishs (I think ~40) which don't show on the graph.

Sleet August 2nd, 2007 11:20 PM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

Sure, fine by me.
Was an interesting experience to take on a nation late game. Never played Atlantis before.

Until next time,

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

I can contribute most of the gems needed for a 999 gem overcast of AN, but I won't be able to cast it myself. If no one else have a level 9 astral mage who can cast it, then I'm for declaring Baalz as the winner also =)

Jazzepi August 3rd, 2007 12:01 AM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

I'm fine with letting this game go and giving it to Baalz. I'm completely out of the running for this game. I'm surprised no one has taken the small amount of time it would take to roll me.

So, does anybody want to keep playing this one?

Marignon and Abysia are the only ones left to answer

Sandman August 4th, 2007 09:45 AM

I'm thinking we have a consensus that Baalz is the winner, even if Abysia and Marignon don't speak out.

If they stale, I would consider that a yes vote =)

Well, I'm gonna go ahead and call this one done and msg Velusion that he can take down the game. GG guys!

My turn this week is a file of 0 length! I tried resending the file but it is still 0 size.

Please hold the turn until I can get a valid .trn file.
