Re: Turn 16

Based on our observations, Ulm believes that Patala tried to dance with Turmoil Three, and the lady had her vicious way with him. The capital is naught but a town, and we saw evidence of recent foreign occupation when we arrived. We admit to being opportunistic, but the credit goes mostly to fate.

However, the monkeys make $%&@ strong fortresses. Our troops are spending too much time encamped around their walls. We are not amused.

Aezeal December 8th, 2007 08:25 PM

Re: Turn 16

Hmm my next turn might spell the end of a certain giant fortress... depending on how strong their pretender actually is, but I have a fair force camped outside their fortress so I'm pretty confident.. and shapeshifters never die in one turn so that is nice against mages.. the giants themselves must be in huge numbers to stop my army and I don't think they have enough..

we'll see. there remains a sort of army retaking certain provinces.. but that is only a question of cornering them.. if they have badluck with avoiding my chasing armies they'll be gone.

Then I can hunt the remaining indies in my region.

is anybody willing to share whom they are warring with? (I have my sources of course but still for the sake of diplomacy I'm asking anyway)

declare war on someons I'd say.. I've notices that taking undefended provinces from another player gives EVEN LESS losses than conquering indies ..

A proclamation from Midgard

The Utgardian giants have lost their capitol and are now wandering around the world. If you have any mercy you will put them out of their misery on sight and not let them hurt themselves or others needlessly.

Greetings
Aezeal of Midgard

PS my nation is currently not having war.. is someone needs assistance somewhere .. ask and I'll see what I can do, in the meanwhile I'll convert some indies to my religion.

What's the plan for the game over Christmas?

Personally, I'll be away Dec 25-27 then again Jan 2-8. Gotta get to the beach, its too freakin' hot here otherwise. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Holidays & Subs

We can certainly put the game on hold if necessary, but it would be great if players who are going to be away for more than a few days could find a substitute (e.g., DonCorazon in Dec. & Wokeye in Jan.). Obviously, we will not play a turn on Tuesday, Dec. 25.

I find the best way to get a sub is not to advertise in a post on the forum. Instead, it is better to contact one of your fellow gamers directly, assuming you have interacted with them previously in a friendly way. If you need help, let me know.

Games die if they are put on hold for more than a few days.

Re: Holidays & Subs

I dont for sure the details of the Mictlan conflict but from observations and hearsay I believe that Man and Mictlan were at war (not sure who started it) and then Arco joined in opportunistically. Arco took the northern portions of Mict territory while Man took the southern parts including the capital. Beseiged in his cap and almost out of dominion, Mict was forced to break seige or be dom-killed. His breakout attempted failed tho, as must be clear by the end of his nation.

DragonFire11 December 15th, 2007 03:13 AM

Re: Holidays & Subs

That's a fair summary by Ironhawk. I lost a battle to Arco. Then I had to try and regroup at my cap. Before I could regroup, Man started a siege and vitiated my dominion. I tried to break free but the fire arrows sliced me up.

Aezeal December 15th, 2007 08:07 AM

Re: Holidays & Subs

Why does man not have 2 VP then? Who has the capitol atm?

Hey I noticed something: 5 VP is enough to win??
shouldn't that be a lot more?? like.. 8 or something?

PashaDawg December 16th, 2007 05:42 PM

Re: EPOTARA (PBEM Game) - Open

You gotta knock out 4 other player capitals to win. Depending on the players, that can be quite a task.

Ironhawk December 16th, 2007 06:27 PM

Re: EPOTARA (PBEM Game) - Open

Yeah thats more than enough. Not only is it hard to defeat that many players but once someone gets say, thier third (total) VP, everyone will begin turning on them.

Aezeal December 17th, 2007 01:37 AM

Re: EPOTARA (PBEM Game) - Open

LP has been out of contact for over 3 days and will stale a second time in a row if I host the turn tonight. Before I host, I will send him a PM to double check in with him. It seems odd that he would disappear.

I suggest that we wait a few more days for him to show up. We've hit the holiday season and several players are traveling anyway. I hate for players to lose out because of technical problems. (We'll get going again soon, even if he does not show up.)

Plus, I need a few days to plot and plan Midgard / Aezeal's demise in our forthcoming war! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Pasha, please turn me AI. I'm kinda sick of doing my turns on time every time, getting to check my email every day, and not ever hearing that the game is on bloody hiatus.

I appreciate your hosting, and you've always been better at it than almost anyone - but having to get web access to check on a PBEM is screwed up.

Happy horrordays everyone.
