Postponing is ok for me. 60 h sounds long tough but I see no need to hurry.

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

I have no problem with Loren's request. I think that in a game this long it's better to give everyone the time they need to play their turns...60hr is virtually nothing compared to the several months that we've been playing, and rushing turns takes the fun out of the game in my opinion.

Thanks.
New hosting time is Friday, 03:15 GMT.

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

I fear that I won't be able to play between friday 15h GMT and sunday 18h GMT. Is it possible to wait for me?

Falkor April 1st, 2008 02:31 PM

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

Maybe Loren will submit the turn file on Thursday evening. If not, we will wait for you, Yandav. With 12h delay you can submit your turn Sunday evening. Is that ok?

yandav April 1st, 2008 05:49 PM

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

That sounds fine, thanks!

Loren April 2nd, 2008 07:39 PM

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

Sorry about the delay. I would have only asked for 12 hours had the llamaserver not barfed exactly when I was submitting a turn and then disappearing into the sky where there's no internet access. I'm back on the ground now, the turn is submitted.

Not only was the llamaserver not accepting e-mail but it was bouncing it so that when the problem was fixed it wouldn't go through.

Falkor April 3rd, 2008 02:41 PM

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

So, next hosting goes on Friday according to the plan. Then we will eventually wait for Yandav.

Sure. It's done.
Please, request the turn file resend to confirm it works properly.

Lack of inspiration?
You need a war against powerful opponent. Strong in numbers and quality, master of steel and magic.
Let's say... C'tis http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Nifelheim would welcome an ally like Ulm. What do you think? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

tgbob April 16th, 2008 10:13 AM

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

C'Tis went AI? Wah? That's... great. More AI to deal with! Gasp.

Faux Edit: Let's split his lands, although those tartaruian titans will be a pain.

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif C'tis went to AI?
I didn't know.
Oh, well. I'm a bit disappointed http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif

Edit: Guys, if someone want to leave the game, please give me an info. I could try to find a substitute. C'tis and earlier Tien Chi were both in good condition.

They are not that scary. Last turn I have slain two cyclops without much effort. I assume they were scripted by AI http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif
They left some nice items though. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Is there a random event that gives a horror attack, or is someone throwing horrors at R'yleh? I can't see anyone except me that would be in a position to benefit and I don't have the land for blood hunting even if you don't count the fact that I'm not a blood nation.

Yeah, the stupid things have that habit! I would be in the same boat except I've played the last two turns on my laptop. I've got the main system back up but with maybe a 10% chance of successful post.

The Horrors are not from an event. They are punishing R'yleh for attacking Nifelheim. And there is more to come. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/stupid.gif

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

A messenger from Ulm arrives.

Due to a bookkeeping snafu, the treaties with Sauromatia and Niefelheim have been well, lost. You see, last month the great and mighty Gether Kuhadh wanted for a late night snack. And as it turns out, that snack was an assistant of the great library of Ulm, whose duty before being devoured body and soul, was to ferry all of our diplomatic recordings to storage!

Now, we DO have treaties, it's just that our warlords don't know the exact length of said treaties. We're pretty sure the terms with Niefelheim was 6 months was it? But what about our agreement Sauromatia?

A hasty reply from the aforementioned nations would be most welcome.

-From Ulm with Love.

Non agression pact with a three turn grace period before the commencement of hostilities following a declaration of war.

We do have a 6 turns NAP.
The province I took this month was agreed for me to take wasn't it? You were chasing some Tien Chi troops who took my provinces. Then you proposed me to take it back. My assumption was that I can take back both provinces, so I waited until you remove your troops.
If I misunderstood your message, then I apologise. Take it back. I will remove the Jarl and leave no PD.

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

Someone has got a scout in West Midden (#61), maybe?
If yes, could you tell me what did you see in battle replay?
My battle replay shows clear win of my Jarl against 3 Rudras and one Siddha of Kailasa, but battle report and acctual after-battle situation shows a win of Kailasan forces.
Something is bugged here.
Yandav, what shows your battle replay?

No scouting of the province but an adjacent scout sees it changing control to Kailasa.

I think you're victim of the known bug that once in a while the battle replay doesn't match what happened.

No, I wanted you to have that province. I was just wandering what the lengths of the NAPs were since I forgot to write them down earlier.

My battle replay shows the same than yours. Too bad the replay isn't accurate, I'd like to know exactly how I killed your SC.
Sorry for you, it must be really disappointing to watch a victory and then to realize that you've lost.

Falkor May 29th, 2008 08:27 AM

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

Yeah, really disappointing. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Especially that the battle could really go the way shown in a replay. My Jarl had a small advantage in stats. Your Rudras had very high fatigue from buffs.
Could you tell me if the scripting in replay was as designed by yourself, or if you scripted the Siddha to retreat?
If it is too much of your tactics I don't mind if you want to keep it for yourself, of course.

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)

My lack of end-game planning is disturbing. Most of my turns now consist of "Okay, move these guys there, move those guys here, maybe summon some units, forge some stuff, end turn!"

All the while hoping that Sauromatia or Kailasa or R'lyeh or something is attacking me.

PS dear R'lyeh, quit mindhunting me.

Sure I have the wrath of god but my army isnt as grand as you others and my territory is not the greatest either and recently my lead in dominion has gone as well (Kailasa really grew his dom quickly http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif ). My grand achievment was perhaps my pretender (died recently but shall return...).

Yet one achievment occured when I finally nailed Sauromantians tartarian with mind hunt .

I will be going out of town July 1-15 as I have no chance to win this game I will not bother to get a sub, or maybe I can get one for the 7-15 it just depends on what my brother is doing, if I cant get a sub I will set my race to AI. If I get a vote on winner I would have to pick Yandav as he has AN up and that is a game ender. Anyway I had a blast playing.
