Welcome back, Ylvali.
|
Gem Swap?
Pythium is looking to pick up a few Water and Death gems (about 10 of each). I have mostly Nature to trade, but can spare a few Astral, too. Anyone interested? Drop me a PM on the forum.

Re: Gem Swap?
After that tur we get back to normal hosting, I have internet access now. And it is quite hot in China now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Sorry everyone, I'm waiting on Arcoscephale to reply to a PM.
Come on, Zeldor, what's it going to be? |
Re: BEST LA newbie game around! Still OPEN! Sign h
How's the game going? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
|
Re: BEST LA newbie game around! Still OPEN! Sign h
I bit hard to tell, I think. No graphs on, so no easy way to gauge progress.
If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say were right on course though, steaming at full speed towards the precipice of all out war. But I could be wrong. |
Shock and Awe
ILION, Alexandria, Late Spring of Year 2 - Peace negotiations between Arcoscephale and Pangaea have collapsed, and a de facto state of war exists between the two nations.
Relations have been strained since Arcoscephale made a bold yet unsuccessful attempt to exclude Western nations from its continent: In an operation that analysts are terming "A Farmland Too Far," Arcroscephale's own pretender rushed toward strategically vital Byzantion (224), only to be stopped dead in his tracks - literally - by Byzantion's fiercely independent inhabitants (click image below). http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/2...driaeu6.th.jpg X - Arcoscephale (126) X - Pangaea (258) X - Byzantion (224) X - Agartha (243) X - C'tis (287) "Arcoscephale already has substantially more room to expand than any other nation. Allowing him to control all of the Lands of Jomon (whoever that is) without resistance was unthinkable," said General Sophipania of Pangaea. "The decision was made to repel this aggressor before he took an insurmountable lead." Indeed earlier this month, Pangaean special forces launched a surprise raid on the fertile farmland of Ilion (202), conquering the province and halting construction of an elaborate Arcoscephalian Fortified City. Pangaean diplomats then approached Arcoscephale with an offer of peace and a proposal for fair & sustainable boarders. Negotiations lasted well into the night before finally breaking down early this morning. Both nations are expected to fall behind on research and expansion, though Arcoscephale appears to be worse-off: "Arcoscephale's 4 other neighbors - Marignon, Atlantis, Utgard, and Agartha - all must be licking their chops right now, eager to carve into the expansive frontier that Arco would have been expected to conquer. I'm sure they recognize the opportunity they have - with Arco's pretender MIA and all his forces tied down in the Northeast - to limit the damage of Arco's wildly advantageous starting position," one pundit said. Re: Shock and Awe
thanks for the update cleveland. I've always had a healthy skepticism of the press though; they usually have an agenda. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif
on a different note, it has been well over 48 hours now. arco's pretender isn't the only leader of that nation who's MIA. |
Re: Shock and Awe
Ah, good to hear about wars close to me that I'm not involved in. Yet. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif

Not to be too terribly impatient, and I can understand any legitimate reason, but why is the game being delayed?
We are moving into hour 64 for this turn now. |
Re: Shock and Awe
Oh, sorry for that. I have just realised I did not submit my turn - I did send 2 turns for another game instead of it. Sending it in a moment and we get back to 30h hosting time.

The 3.15 patch has been released (!)
Llamaserver has been updated to 3.15, your questions will be answered here: http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...o=&fpart=1 Hilariously, this game was announced at the release of the last patch, and we've managed to get in a whopping 14 turns. |

I questioned my people about this proposal, but the lizards think that gold is useless as a construction material, poor nutritional value for a food, and a little bit too heavy and soft for weapons too.

Re: Shock and Awe
so slow.
disillusionment setting in. turns... where are the turns? |
Re: Shock and Awe
Omni,
That was almost Haiku-ish. My turn. Site searching Barbarians uprise Mage butter or The battle joins 200 crossbows!? [censored] -SSJ |
Re: Shock and Awe
nice ssj. I like.
and, BTW good god. SAVE THE DAY. a new turn made its way into my lovely inbox |
Re: Shock and Awe
Evil intentions of cleveland are rather obvious now. Casting globals before anyone is close to researching dispel, not nice, not nice.
|
Re: Shock and Awe
I didn't realize Carrion Woods was made a level 0 spell. That's a HUGE change, CBM Mod. going from a level 7, clearly late-mid game spell, to one that can be cast by the 15th turn!
I hope the CBM designers know what they're doing. |
Re: Shock and Awe
Well, if Carrion Woods turns out to be a problem, I have no doubt that Pan's neighbors will fell little remorse in ganging up on him.
Arco's proposal looks a lot better now, doesn't it? |
Re: Shock and Awe
I will remind everyone that with so far to research dispel killing Pan pretender is the way to do the dispelling. And there is nice reward for that from Arcoscephale http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

On a different note, what happened to 30hr hosting? We seem to be on 48hr. Also, it's common courtesy to play your turns back-to-back if you're last to submit. |

Yeah, hard to figure out who we are rooting for in the Pan/Arco war. One has a global, one is pokey with his turns. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Re: Shock and Awe
There is a smell that has been blowing across the seas from the West ... it has been irritating the Nagas for some time now. Finally, its origin has been found -- the lands of Utgard. These odorous giants will need to be cleaned up. Or at least so says the prophet Amitatman.
He took a company of Naga warriors and went fishing in the seas. While he has taken to the taste of Ichtyids, he was suffering through a meal of Tritons when -- having surfaced for some fresh air to cure his nausea -- he encountered the giant smell blowing off of the coast to his north. Needless to say, his illness only became more acute. So he has decided to conquer those lands out of spite. He's a brash snake-man, to say the least. I advice the giants in Utgard to brace themselves. There will be plenty of hissing coming your way! [OOC: How's that for a fabricated casus belli!] |
Re: Shock and Awe
The brash snakemen will find the smell of the giants isn't nearly as strong as a blessed Jotun Battle Axe. Let their last sight be looking up into an immense hairy armpit connected to 50 pounds of sharpened steel. Perhaps a silver tongue has encourged your ardor? Do tell.

Re: Shock and Awe
Utgard will *handsomely* reward any nation that will trade for items that enable large groups of giants to breath under the seas and turn the sea snakes into chum. You may contact the Utgard advisor privately and your assistance with be held in the highest confidence.
- Advisor to Utgard ooc- gotta love the arms race aspect of this game ! |

Wanted!
1 Amulet of Antimagic Offer: If it's delivered NEXT TURN (#19), I will pay 10 Nature gems. Otherwise, I'll pay 7 Nature gems. PM me if interested. Pangaea Edit: order filled! But I'm always in the market for more AoAs, so if you're still looking to sell one, PM me. I'm certainly willing to negotiate trades for level-1 Earth, Death, or Nature items (e.g. cat charm...) |

FOR SALE! Dwarven Hammers No reasonable offer will be refused! PM me if interested. |
Re: Alexandria - battle for balanced glory [closed
There is grumbling among the Nagas that the prophet is becoming a monster. He was overheard remarking that Huskarls taste as bad as they smell. The Warriors look the other way at his dishonorable habit of devouring his enemies alive with the conviction that his growing evil will be dealt with upon the advent of the True God, Circe.

Re: Alexandria - battle for balanced glory [closed
I MAY be slow with my turns this weekend, so I'd like to apologize in advance. I have a houseguest arriving Saturday afternoon and staying until Tuesday evening (US), during which I'll have limited time to play.
I'll certainly do my best to get my turns in, but again, I apologize in advance if that's not possible. Pangaea |
Re: Alexandria - battle for balanced glory [closed
Possibility C'Tis is going to stall this turn, which is odd because I could have sworn he uploaded a turn earlier and we were just waiting on Arco. Is my mind playing tricks on me, or did something happen?
|
Re: Alexandria - battle for balanced glory [closed
Your mind is playing tricks.

Re: Alexandria - battle for balanced glory [closed
Staling so early is not good.
Cleveland: If you need it postponed, just write http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Alexandria - battle for balanced glory [closed
I also could have sworn that I posted the turn. Luckily, I reposted it just in time.
|
Re: Alexandria - battle for balanced glory [closed
I'm so bleed'n absentminded I tend to post an almost thoughtless turn right away in case RL has a surprise for me and I might stale. I follow with a hopefully more leisurely considered turn much later.
