Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

Heh. Yeah, this was *not* a good turn for the home team. Abysia's battle was wierd; when I play the battle back, I see my Attack-Rear undead horsemen get caught just *past* the gates, stuck on...nothing. At all. Strange...

Much, much nastier was the loss of most of an entire army up north, trying to take out an Agarthan castle. Summoned Agarthan statues blocking the only, narrow entrance = *BAD THING*. Abysia's battle was a lucky shot. Agartha's battle was a bloody nose. ; )

As I said, I'm not as powerful as I look on the graphs.

I'm already recovering, and I'll get you in the end, Agartha! But just to add insult to injury, my only random events this turn--despite *Luck 3*--were the loss of a temple and the loss of 200 gold. I think I'm going to go sit in the corner and sulk for a while...; )

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

Indy,

I love castles. Anyway. My replay is showing your army has three of my sacreds. Where did you get those? Did you enlsave them and I just missed it?

I also enountered a really strange bug. I paused the game while watching the replay for about 30 mins. When I came back and tried to resume and it froze. So I hit q and then the wierd stuff started. It was as if the province map were very close to the left of my screen and to the right was sky (a blue field taht looked like sky). It was as if you were looking at a dominions globe or something. It was really trippy. Had to shut down the game to get it working again.

Where the heck are the underwater mercernaries in this game? I haven't seen a one pop up yet. I've got all this cash sitting in the "save for mercernaries" account, but nobody is showing up for hire.

Hmm. The fishlike creatures of Oceania are a surly bunch. Even while dying, they throw a sucker punch at us. We think they will make good war slaves.

Seda, your sub is staling. Alas!

seda's sub seems to be a no-show.

Do we want to postpone the game until seda returns or thorin shows up? He did try to get a sub.
He is at war and three stales in a row would be brutal.

I am fine with postponing regardless...*shrug*

I have taken the liberty of PM'ing Velusion asking for a 72-hour delay this turn, while keeping Quickhost on in case Seda comes back before then. (I don't think Velusion is monitoring this thread very closely any more.) Hopefully he will get the message before this turn pops...

Unfortunately, it seems he didn't get it.
New turn is up.

In other news: Man needs a Hammer. At least one. I've got Nature, Death and Air gems and/or items to trade for it. Some Astral as well. PM me with a price.

Lingchih March 20th, 2008 08:48 PM

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

Well, time to AI them then.

I have no problem with a pause for Easter.

thejeff March 20th, 2008 09:02 PM

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

AI who?

Just because seda's sub didn't work out, is no reason to AI. Especially if we're pausing for Easter anyway.

Machaka, I guess. Hey, we're in the water here. We have no idea what is going on topside. I'm just saying that if Machaka truly has staled 3 turns in a row, that calls for an AI.

I am kinda liking it not being a 24 timer myself. Perhaps we could move it to 48?

Lingchih March 25th, 2008 10:54 PM

48 would be an improvement over the 96 or whatever timer it is on now.

IndyPendant March 26th, 2008 11:28 AM

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

Hrm. I've never seen this much impatience in a MP game before. Weren't we on a 72-hour timer before? If so, it's been 36 hours since the last turn. My god, I'm such a laggard. I took an extra half a day to get my turn in! Unforgiveable! ; )

Turn's up.

I don't think I can maintain a 24-hour timer anymore. I don't need a 72-hour timer though; 48 would be fine. If we do reduce it, please not less than 48.

Edit: Ah, looks like it's 48 already. That's fine.

thejeff March 26th, 2008 11:47 AM

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

We were only on a 72 hour timer to allow a delay over Easter Weekend, before that we were on 24. I've seen games never start moving again after a delay, thus the nagging. We're going again, all is good.

I don't mind going to 48. I don't need it, but then I'm not overrunning half the world.

Tithonos was bored. Bored, bored, bored. Even admiring his muscles in the reflections of pools had ceased to thrill him. Furthermore he had a headache. And who wouldn't with all those damn Maeneds running about, frothing and yelling. That at least was a problem he could do something about..

Heh. Aww...I suspect your capital's going to be a particularly tough nut to crack. Ah well.

I was wondering why you placed your statues at the rear, though; the only thing I can think of was to keep my cavalry from using their lances on them. It was still a surprisingly close battle! At least most of what I lost were chaff cavalry... ; )

Heh. The slight delay was caused by my weakened army having to retreat for a turn to join reinforcements, thus avoiding Vanheim's attempt to pounce on them first.

...And you never specified *which* inside to come to...; )

He did taste good, for those few that were able to reach him. But we are quite content to let the rest of you sit and starve in your capital fort for a while. Rot and lean meat adds flavour!

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

The hooves of the dead trample the east of the world. The few Agarthans remaining make a last stand deep in their cave fortress. The Vanir fight valiantly, but the hundreds they return to their rest seem to be replaced without pause.

The tide of death must be stopped before it is too late. The Lord of Avalon declares his Pact with Ermor ended and calls on the other nations of the world to help stop him now.

Cor2 April 7th, 2008 02:57 PM

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

Argarthans do not eat. It is both a blessing and a curse, Sargon muses. At this point it is only prolonging their death. Their cave fort defenses were breached long ago by the hoards of unliving just outside. The constant cacophony of bone scraping stone drowns out all conversation. Each is left to his own nightmarish thoughts. No one has any real nightmares any more, because no one has slept in weeks. The noise combined with the threat of imminent invasion of undead is enough to keep even the humans without sleep. Sargon is no different. His huge pale body is slumped against his favorite setting stone. It offers him no comfort. His body is beginning to show signs of decrepitude.
Sargon ponders the end of his race. He wishes for a moment that Argarthans could weep like humans do. He angrily banishes the thought. It is their fault! How could my people be out bred by these awful smelling monkeys? Perhaps our demise is for the best. First we accept them into our caverns, the greedy little primates. But now we have accepted one as the true god. Wretched. She is only slightly older than me!, Sargon rages.

....more to come?

IndyPendant April 7th, 2008 11:16 PM

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

*sigh*

Will the dead ever know peace?

So be it. We now add Man to our ever-growing list our enemies. It is currently Turn 48. On Turn 51, we shall give the orders to our minions so that the war begins on Turn 52.

Rathar April 8th, 2008 12:25 AM

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

The forest loving peoples of Pangea have heard of the atrocities being committed against the great forests of the east and declare themselves to also be at a state of war with the hordes of ancient Ermor.

Sadly, the noble Spider-lovers of Machaka are between us so the aid we can render is but slight at the moment. Although if folks care to throw piles of earth gems our way we can cast quite a few economically devastating rituals.. (ooc I've site searched the bejeezus out of things and while we have an adequate income of nearly every other gem our earth income is a measly 3..)

Ermor is nearing a point where the sheer mass of troops, gems and mages will allow them to make an end grab for provinces and thus clinch victory.

We call on all able bodied nations to act now before it is too late.

Then you can kill me next!

Lingchih April 8th, 2008 12:26 AM

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

The capitol of Oceania now belongs to R'lyeh. It should not be too long until their last rebel forces are defeated. We just hope it is not too late to save the topworlders. Beware. We could come up out of the sea anywhere.

Re: Priori - New MA Game (Sign Up Now!)

I hate to do this when I've just expanded the war, but I'm going to be away from computers for a long weekend. From Friday morning to Monday night.

I can try to find a sub, but since that'll likely be the opening battle of my new war, I'd hate to miss it.
Would people be okay with a delay? It should only be a turn or two.

I hope to be back in time to play Monday night, but if it's too late I might not be able to do it until after work on Tuesday.
