Welcome back, Sum1!!

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

I think we'll set the turns on 48 hours now? I need another extension for the weekend (sorry but I have a last shift today, then need to be back in the hospital at 7:00 so no use driving home for an hour and back the next morning.. then that night a wedding and next night a birthday on the other side of the country.)

Thank you and hello!

48 hour hosting is fine.

BTW, my sub has given me a brief rundown of how things are going, but anyone who wants to discuss how things went down, feel free! Thank you!

Not a fan of 48 hour turns. At least not until turn 50 or so.

48 hours is fine for me. That's easier for me during week ends to begin with.

I prefer the 24 hour turns as well, but it seems the majority wants to extend the timer.

Can't we have 12 hours turns? They're so exciting. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/redface.gif

Aezeal June 13th, 2008 06:14 AM

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

Well personally I don't mind 24 hours.. but then I'd miss like 3 turns this weekend.. this way I might just make it..
not to mention I'll need a sub end of next week for 3 weeks.. and sub tend to prefer 48 hours.

it's pretty standard to go to 48 hours after about 25 turns anyway.

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

Shinuyama has engaged in a joint project with Ulm to magically cull the weakest of Ulm's people, as it is in everyone's interest that the eventual human servants of the Bakemono be as fit and strong as possible. Anyone wishing to help maintain balance in an increasingly Ulm-infested world by participating in this noble effort is invited to contact Shinuyama. Gems may be provided, depending on need. Privacy is guaranteed!

Personaly I'm killing every Shinuyama thing I see on sight since he invaded me too.. EVERY NEIGHBOUR OF the gray flags can attack NOW.. to much fronts for him.

I even offer Tien Chi a new NAP

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

Now now, the scouts surely will not attack any further of your provinces. They only wanted to see whether you were home, and... it seems that you are. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Those wondering who to support need only view the graphs, and decide who they fear most. Though it seems many of you have your own concerns... ah, the tragedy of the commons!

Aezeal June 14th, 2008 09:03 PM

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

The scouts will be dead! And there won't be peace untillI have everything back and then that castle you build on my border since it's obvious you can't be trusted. THEN we might have peace again.

ULM, you have an ally untill that gray flagged troll race is dead

Bakemono are goblins, mind you!

But there are some trolls in the northwest sea--you are welcome to challenge them!

The Jotun giants have invaded the sacred... swamps of the great Ermor empire,
let it be known that the peace loving undead hordes and death cultist will not tolerate this insult!!!
I curse the giants to burn in the ever lasting banefires,
and call to all nations on most holy of a crusade against these foul creatures, RIVERS OF BLOOD WILL FLOW!!!

Ossa June 16th, 2008 09:17 AM

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

Foul are rather the rotting ghoules of Ermor! Even the C'tis admit they cant take the smell and that definitly means something.

Our invasion was additionally not an insult, but rather a spontaneous movement of liberation. We could no longer watch the living people of your former independant provinces suffer the rule of dead people.

Whilst C'Tisian olfactry glands are extremely sensitive to wolven and bear hides, curiously, rotting human flesh wafts like the aroma of fresh baked bread across our swamps and woods. We have been on peaceful terms with our neighbors to the east.....after a small border dispute....and hope our new neighbors from Jotunheim are as accomodating. We wish for peace with all nations.

Except those with whom we are at war.

How much less polite to leave your poor people without any defense! That scout was relieved to see soldiers blocking his way, for he knew as he died that the province would be in good hands after all.

However, now that we are in war, please stop wriggling so I can put you out of my misery.

Nobody needs to worry about Ulm. The only thing Ulm is interested in right now, is avenging the great hero Raterik, who was slain in battle by a horde of foul smelling trolls. Now that the time of mourning over, the Ulmish clans seek retribution!

Ah, no doubt this is great comfort to the sidhe, who now surely realize that you are not besieging their fortress, but merely searching for the trolls who killed Raterik!

If the addled governors of Ulm would search for trolls amongst the sidhe of Eriu and the goblins of Shinuyama, then who is next? The monkeys, perhaps?

meister_miagi June 24th, 2008 01:41 PM

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

Ulm has no real quarrel with the sidhe. This is merely a way for us to sourround the trolls so they may not escape. It is too bad for the sidhe that they take trolls as their friends.

We also remember sending the sidhe a great gift: an ancient pearl of the deep seas, recovered by the great Boognish Wyrm-Lord of Ulm himself. This was a sign of friendship and was ignored by the arrogant sidhe.

It is no doubt the Raterik-slayers where trolls in the service of Shinuyama. They were big, green, ugly creatures whose pungent smell drove tears to Rateriks eyes and dazed his mind. Every storyteller in Ulm knows this.

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

You know, if my fort were under seige, I would expect some damn big compensation for it if they didn't want to open a second front.

meister_miagi June 27th, 2008 06:21 AM

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

A new hero has risen in north to avenge the death of the great Raterik. No one knows where he came from, he is shrouded in mystery and he cannot be seen by unworthy mortal eyes. He shall be known as Raterik's Ghost to his enemies, may they fear him and stand in awe at his presence.
He is accompanied by an entourage of loyal ghostly followers and rides a ghostly steed.
Surely this great hero from beyond will bring pride to the nation of Ulm.

It's like waiting for the sequel to a movie - you start to forget what's happening by the time it comes out. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Are we on 48h quickhost? It's nice to give the buffer if people need it, but equally nice if we can keep the pace up on occasions when everyone is able to post their turn in a timely fashion. <3

Bananadine June 27th, 2008 05:05 PM

It has not mattered so far whether quickhost is on, because Pythium is not taking turns.

I'm already 6 or 7 games I think - I lose count when I can't rely on turns being there at any given time. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif And I thought that's what I was doing here - playing against other people. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Pythium is almost utterly annihilated at this point. I don't want to ask for AI, since I am their neighbor, and we've been peaceful, but it seems like there should be some sort of solution.

Anyways, I'd just like things to only take as long as they have to, is that wrong? If you aren't getting your turn in during the first 24h after hosting, turning on quickhost won't keep you from having the second day to do what you need to do. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif And if you're the last person to go, it'll host immediately, so if you have time you can do 2 turns at once. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

LDiCesare June 27th, 2008 07:48 PM

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

If the only reason why turns don't go faster is Pythium not playing anymore, we should ask Pythium whether they want to keep playing and if not, turn them into ai.

Bananadine June 28th, 2008 11:57 AM

Re: Aquarium - MA game - PBEM - 10-15 player

If I remember right, Pythium wanted to keep playing but is in Mexico for a few weeks and we never found a sub.

I am only in two games and it's too much! Some of us spend much more time thinking about our turns than others do, it seems.

JimMorrison June 28th, 2008 02:25 PM
