Re: EA Newbie game (PBEM) - Sign Up

Aezeal, Defender of the Oni has attacked us by surprise in the middle of the negotiations he proposed, followed by a message refusing our offered terms and announcing his intention to drive us into the sea. It seems, however, that he lacks the ability to back up his words, as he was sorely wounded and forced to flee the field by our province defense.

In a separate matter, the nation of Fomoria is looking to sell water gems to finance our defense against Arcoscephale and Yomi. Any nation interested in aiding us will surely be rewarded.

The mighty Aezeal did, indeed, return to the lands claimed by Fomoria... and he was slain ignominiously after inflicting a mere nine casualties (not counting province defense.)

Re: EA Newbie game (PBEM) - Sign Up

I've seen both battles of Azeal vs Fomorians and it was remarcable. The name of Azeal, The Destroyer of Giants will be written in the annals of arcoscephale and stories of his deeds would be told to childred before sleep. Alas, not for long, as nothing can stop fomorians now, and after those uncivilised half-goats capture arcoscephale capital they wouldn't find much use for the scripts other then toilet paper...

CyborgMoses August 5th, 2008 08:21 PM

Re: EA Newbie game (PBEM) - Sign Up

After we do what, now? We haven't even attacked any of the provinces that your cowardly sneak attackers stole from us, and your god is camped out right next to our capital! On the other hand, it is true that Arcoscephalian writings, especially their peace treaties, are worthy only of wiping one's behind with...

anyone selling dwarven hammers yet?

Re: EA Newbie game (PBEM) - Sign Up

Poor, helpless Arcoscephale is now laying siege to our capital city. Their weak and harmless troops slaughtered our 50 points of province defense and forced our mages, who were evilly protecting their homeland, to flee. If any nation should care to assist us in our civilians' vicious bullying of Arcoscephale's armed forces, or possibly trade money, air gems, or death gems for our surplus of water gems, they would earn the gratitude of our vile citizens, who treacherously attacked Arcoscephale's weapons with their faces.

I would like to point out, publicly, that majuva68 has threatened (and is following through with said threat) that were I to make war on him in the game, Freshmeat, he would make war on me in all games.

I encourage all of you to review Sheap's rules of conduct.

http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...;Number=575534

Please discourage majuva68 from carrying issues from one game into other games.

Re: EA Newbie game (PBEM) - Sign Up

Using events in one game to justify actions in another because you are playing against nations run by the same person is seriously disruptive. For instance, if one were in a winning position in one game and a losing position in another, one could trade resources to another nation in game one and have a nation run by the same player in game two trade resources to your embattled nation there; this would be totally unfair to the other players in game two. Basically, sharing anything between games, including grudges against nations which happen to be run by the same player, is very disruptive and makes the game less fun.

My laptop is K.O, the hardisk is breaking. I can't do nothing. Anticipatient, you attack me without respect our NAP, this is the reason we are in war in all games. I can't connect in 15 days, when i'll come back we disscuss this. I can say a lot of things but you attack me before NAP is broken. Who are best ?. Put me in A.I, I can't search a sub

Aezeal August 12th, 2008 12:57 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

I'm going AI.. can't seem to win a single battle against fomoria and I've not got much troops left and no capitol either.

I'll message the admin PW to someone

Was nice playing but one advice: avoid yomi like the plague in MP

GrudgeBringer August 12th, 2008 03:39 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

Ok so we lost Mauva....and now our Admin Azeal (who was pretty much done anyway) but what now of the game?

CyborgMoses August 12th, 2008 05:23 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

Well, I've never run a game before, but I guess I could take a shot at being admin if nobody else wants to volunteer.

namad August 12th, 2008 06:44 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

as long as we get them both set to ai instead of stale'ing the game will be totally fine...

chrispedersen August 12th, 2008 06:45 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

50 pt PD???

Damn I hope that was a random event = )

Hey are any of the dropped positions playable? I might sub if so.

anticipatient August 12th, 2008 06:56 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

chrispedersen, if you take over majuva's turn quickly, it's playable. i just beat him up a little bit, but he's still stronger than me overall, I think.

GrudgeBringer August 12th, 2008 07:55 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

Did he send me the password only or to everyone....I DO NOT want to admin as my computer skills are somewhat..ahhhhhh...challenged!!

OK. I'm willing to do so.
Llama typically wants the game admin to do so.

I will email aezeal.. but is anyone else the game admin?

namad August 12th, 2008 08:03 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

with the game admin quitting i think we are looking for volunteers who know how to admin...

majuvau is doing quite well on the score graphs finding a sub for him would be great... even yomi/aezeal wasn't doing that bad it doesn't seem..

chrispedersen August 12th, 2008 10:31 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

I've admin'd, once. I don't mind doing it again.
Hopin' tho that someone is reading this so we (I?) don't miss a turn.

namad August 12th, 2008 11:10 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

it seems pretty likely sauromantia will stale once now... but even stale'ing once they are still in a strong enough position to sub in... i wonder if we need help from llama himself? or if aezeal is reading this and can pass along admin title himself somehow?

WingedDog August 13th, 2008 02:17 AM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

I could administrate, since it is not difficult for me to check forum often for requests.

llamabeast August 13th, 2008 03:34 AM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

Thankyou all for being so forthcoming with volunteering to admin, it's appreciated. CyborgMoses was first up, so I'll send the password to him.

Was the Sauromatian turn file redirected to chrispedersen's e-mail?

Bleh!
I understand why he quit. After looking at the position, I don't wish to play it.

I have uploaded a turn, and will post a few more, whilst another substitute can be arranged.

hmmmm one thing in favor of sauromatia... he was next to me and I'm gone AI now... so he should be able to expand rapidly in that direction

CyborgMoses August 14th, 2008 02:57 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

The traitorous filth of Arcoscephale have conquered the Fomorian homeland, taking only a handful of casualties as their irresistable horde of Wind Riders slaughtered everything we had to throw at them. Our only small victory was that our summoned shades killed a few of the equinophiles as we attempted to flee the field; all of our troops and mages were cut down. Again, we beg for aid from any nation with a desire to avoid Arcoscephale's grip of death.

anyone care to sell me a dwarven hammer or death gems? or earth gems? price can be in gems or gold or other...

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

did the new sauromantia player get setup properly? because he has not played his turn and he has like what? 20? 80minutes to do it?

we can't really let sauromantia stale or the sub isn't gonna be wanting them?...

dang why is it so hard to keep players playing! two ai's and possibly a 3rd so early in the game... and from nations that weren't even dead

GrudgeBringer August 16th, 2008 09:17 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

Pretorian, sent me a PM on our relations so he is active in pursuing this I believe.

namad August 16th, 2008 09:29 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

yeah except check

http://www.llamaserver.net/doAdminAc...ion=showstales

he just staled...

you probably didn't give him enough time.. this was his FIRST TURN and he lost like 60% of the time just on the fact he didn't even have the trn file... hell he still might not even have the trn file for turn 28

i recommend you extend turn28 by a day or two ... or disable quickhost we need to make sure sauromantia gets to take this turn... (if no sub is willing to play them then AI is better than endless stales)

namad August 16th, 2008 09:30 PM

Re: Jotunland (PBEM) - (game on!)

niefelheim would like to mention that we have access to cons4(eventually more) and can forge a wide variety of items
