Vista hides your savedgames
For posterity:
I bet it's old news, Vista having been out for some time now, but I thought the Dominions crowd might be slow to "update" their OS. Happy New Year! :smirk: |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
So.....
I am very... ...very... ...very... ...excruciatingly... ...slowly... ...losing all interest in this game..... O.O |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Ermor put to AI.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
So, JimMorrison, attack ME!!
All those earth mages you have. Spam some earth meld and destruction, along with Blade Wind. Try it, you will probably like it! |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Is one of the Jims C'tis?
Because then, yeah, they probably should be attacked ;) But don't mind the spiders, we've got to deal with stupid Man AI while simultaneously getting hammered by stupid random knights and barbarians and whatever else you have. Stupid scales I picked for this game :p |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Neither of us Jim's are C'tis
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Oh, well then you should both probably attack C'tis and be done with it ;)

Interesting idea, though I had something else hatching. I'm still pissed that you got to Evo5 as fast as you did - it caused all of this! :P So, I hope you think twice next time, before finding a way to defend yourself. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
The benevolent lizard-folk have done you no harm. Leave well enough alone.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
The nation of Jotunheim has been betrayed by the forces of C'tis. While having a non-aggression pact, we have not recieved a word from the lizardfolk and still they dared to attack us. Let this be a warning for all who neighbor the lowly scum, and we urge you to take action as quickly as possible.

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
What did I tell you??????
;) |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
As the theurgs foresaw...

While it is true that the inevitable war between our two nations has finally begun, your accusations are completely groundless. A formal treaty requires both sides to agree, after all, not one side offer and the other stay silent. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
We did reply to it, didn't you get our answer? How odd. Under these circumstances though, I do not believe it matters, the nation of Jotunheim has started their march into war.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
The land of Jotunheim is not getting their turns through, I've sent the last two turns but llamaserver shows "staled" as both... how odd. And annoying.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
You might want to PM llamabeast or try making a different email account on a different email provider (like gmail or hotmail), send your turn file to that one and then send it in, and check the llamaserver to see if it accepts it.

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Atlantis will stand by the giants.
The lizardmen have to be stopped. Hope everyone else joins in. :D |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Our counteroffensive against the lizardfolk has begun with very minimal losses to us. From preliminary reports, our losses have been less than 10% of ctissian losses. (In other words, turns are going through, most of you might have noticed that.)

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Well, does anyone think C'tis can be taken down?
I can only raid him a little but since I don't have any border with him my options are very limited. If we don't see combined action against him he'll take us out one after the other. I don't have enough time to play all my games anymore so I was thinking about ending that game or let a sub take over for me. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
I don't think there's much chance from looking at the score graphs, but then again I don't have a border or any intel on him anyway.
Hell, I've been pointing it out for a while though ;) |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
I pointed that out the first time when he attacked us, thank you for disrupting his plans :)
So, are you going to amass some sort of huge dogpile or should we all just wait quietly while he eliminates each of us one by one? |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Well, concerning a dogpile, I can't do very much. Unless someone can secure me beachhead in the water I can't bring in the heavy hitters to take down his water queens.
And I can forget about a landwar. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
This game has been going for a while and the only reason I'm still alive is because Man went AI. The end is looking like a forgone conclusion...my war with Man stunted my nation to the point where I'm just playing for the sake of playing...and I don't even want to attack C'tis because he sent me some aid during the war with Man and Machaka when no one else did. It looks like Atlantis has stopped playing and with Ermor and Abysia ready to be chewed up by C'tis I think maybe it's time to call it and declare C'tis the winner of this game.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Yeah, I have to admit I've just been going through the motions since Man went AI as well, and considering what C'tis is doing to me now I really don't care to continue since it's just pure tedium at this point.
Unless anyone else actually cares or thinks there is a chance to beat C'tis I will go AI since I really don't have any other reason to continue. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Sorry, I don't have the time to play anymore and I can't find a sub.
So as my last action I vote for C'tis as winner and set myself AI. :) |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Very well, perhaps we should declare C'tis winner then. I've had lots of fun, but wasn't prepared enough (actually, would've been if llamaserver had accepted those 2 crucial turns) for his attack. Oh well.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Well I started in a great position with an entire corner to myself, but the provinces were low pop and I didn't have much luck site searching, by the time I was ready to break out of that area I had made a nice alliance with Man to take down Mictlan, but then Man went AI, and I was really stuck.
By that time already though C'tis was huge, and it didn't seem anyone was doing anything about it, so I figured I'd just accept the CF with Mictlan and eat up Man and then see what was what (since I had no way of getting to C'tis anyway, especailly if I was going to have to leave a large well armied AI on a long border with myself). My the time I had Man controlled C'tis was a complete run away from the graphs, so yeah, I figured I'd just play it out and see how/when I died. Well I'm not dead, but my position has no hope, so yeah, good game and all that. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
To be honest, I had intended to go for C'tis fairly early. But Pan started in the horrible rocky northeastern wastes, and when I saw how close Eriu was, and how much trouble they were having expanding, I decided to go for them first.
I swear he got Thunderstrike researched the turn before I arrived to siege his castle..... We've been slugging it out since then. I reasoned that neither of us had a chance unless we killed the other, but unfortunately, neither has been able to do so. ;) |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Congrats Nimnio, well played.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Very well, I will declare this game finished tomorrow, unless anyone objects.
My congratulations to the winner. |

It'd be rude not to add something: you know, provide some closure. I'd like to go over the game from my viewpoint; that is, not talk about strategy, but why I did what I did. My northern expansion encountered Pangea before anyone else, and naturally we quickly made a NAP. To my south, I found Ashdod. We didn't start off on the right foot: he took a province I had already sent three parties of mercenaries to die in. I felt bitter about that, obviously. I began expanding west in a thin, one-province wide tunnel between Pangea and Ermor. This was a surprisingly effective expansion, considering how vunerable it was. When I learned that Ashdod was at war with Pythium (south of Ashdod), I jumped on the chance to attack Ashdod. I apparently jumped a bit too soon, because I found myself facing what I believe to be majority of Ashdod's army. It all cumulated in a do-or-die battle on top of my capital against Ashdod's uber-giant army. But we all know the problem with uber-giant armies: you only really get one. When I defeated that army, I was relatively free to invade his lands. Pythium, for whatever reason, was slow to invade Ashdod even after he went AI. I can't really comment on this, but obviously I did take some advantage of it. After Ashdod was well and truly finished, I began regarding Pythium with great suspicion. Earlier, when the war against Ashdod was first starting, I learned that Pythium had a NAP with Jotunheim. My scouts reported that neither of them had built a single point of province defense on their shared border. So Pythium had Jotunheim to the west, and me to the north. I felt like I was the cork in Pythium's bottle, and that it was only a matter of time before he turned against me. Needless to say, I had first-strike advantage against Pythium. It was a bit of an odd war though. My armies pushed-in and captured a castle, but then held their position to wait for a counter-attack that never came. When I went to war against Pythium, I was careful to note that Jotunheim's defense along their shared border went from none to "exceptionally strong." Hardly an act of war, but I have a suspicious mind. Large giant armies started to form very close to my borders, and Jotunheim did not reply to my request for a NAP (my inbox remains empty), but that may have been a misunderstanding. Jumping ahead a bit, the war against Jotunheim was well on it's way, and once again I had first-strike advantage. I read the talk on the forums and realized that the game really only needed a bit of a push to end in my favour, so in the last turn I simultaneously attacked Ermor and Machaka, basically flexing my gem-induced muscles to pad the score graph. So there you have it. Sorry if I missed any important, interesting details (like the skirmishes we had, Atlantis), but if I tried to cover it all, I'd be writing all night. Good game everyone! |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
*chuckle*
I don't think you really needed to pad the score graph... |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Impressive, I didn't know you went so far north. I got the game started well, and my reign over Ulm's lands only strengthened my positions. I was contacted by Abysia (who went AI at some point then) who was content to just start a war with Ermor. Maybe he saw that there was no point in heat3 land to try to wage a war against a cold3 nation, at least I did. I had very low pd in most of my provinces by the time c'tis decided to attack - If I had gotten those two turns out, his raiding capability would've went far better on my behalf - It would've meant that his arouse hungers wouldn't have worked and I would've gotten at least 8 more werewolves to the fray, which worked exceptionally well against most what c'tis threw at me. Although he had an army of mostly shades roaming around our northern border, they never encountered my werewolves - perhaps a good thing for my part. I'm curious, how much income did you have at the end? And I should've given my pretender something to fight of those vengeful souls - I knew one would eventually break through. And it did, and that turn I lost my gift of health. So many things I should have and could have done differently, but congratulations :)

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
To enlighten on my (Ashdod) early conflict with Pythium:
Pythium presumably thought I'd be a better target for war than the Jotuns - it's a bit hard to argue that one way or the other, but they were pretty securely bottled in so I can't really blame them. Sadly for them, they tried attacking me with a vast horde of Hydras. They didn't last very long against slings and spammed Fire Flies. Losing that army must have been a huge economic drain on Pythium, and probably explains why they didn't follow up my devastating defeat by C'tis' forces. Summon Swarm is a bit of a killer against giant thugs, it appears. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
My income at the end was about 5500. The initial attack, ghouls and armies, were supposed to gain me time to equip my tartarians (I thought your attack against me was sure to come soon). On this last turn, these are what were available to me:

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
A true god has ascended!
Starting in a corner with minimal landmass, and being neighboured by not only one, but two giant nations, made expansion extremely difficult for my "land of little red men." I had a dormant cyclops, who was supposed to mount an amphibious assault on Ashdod, but some lucky triton stuck a coral spear into his only eye, penetrating his +30 protection and regeneration and effectively blinding him. He died in that battle. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
I saw that missing eye, and I wondered.
Redherring, Lord of the Gates. Offline, I tested to see if he would be affected by C'tis' miasma: 10 turns went past with no ill effect. This game? He got diseased in the first turn. Never-healing wound + limp + blind + mute + ... . Fortunately, he kept generating his freespawn, those shades Quitti saw on his northern border. Oh, and I didn't realize the Dimensional Rod was cursed until it was too late, so he's insane. I think the people of this world are screwed. |
