Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

I am taking Arco over and got the game files but when I loaded the game it says I need the 'Crusader Mod'.

Where can I get that Mod or do I have to load ALL the mods in this game?

If so I need a linl to them.

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Well I D/l the Crusaders file (its a RAR file) and put it in my mods file but I can't open it.

I am used to extract the files into the Mod file and no problems. I'm not sure what RAR files do.

Also, i don't have the map it seems like.

I am not that computer literate so this may get too confusing just to get it started so Yomi can take it over.

Anyway for the mod: I think the problem is that you don't have WinRAR: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm (you probably want the top one). rar files are an alternative to zip files, but an unrar program isn't packaged with windows like WinZip is.

No, you should be good to go--its just a different tool as I understand it.

BTW, welcome to the game!

The Lords of Helheim have re-named their home "no rock" as appaently there is not a single earth site in all the land. :(

Rumors that the dwarves were seen wandering aimlessly after listenting to the ramblings of Buddha have not been confirmed.

Do we think shard still needs a 24 hr extension? I've got a bit lost...

Aethyr July 3rd, 2009 07:38 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

IIRC, this is the turn Shard needed the extension for...

llamabeast July 3rd, 2009 07:39 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Okay, done. Everyone else still take your turns quickly if you can, so when shard lands we can get on.

The weather is getting very hot outside of the ocean. Don't you think it would be a wonderful thing if all the lands were covered by water and everyone live peacefully in the coldness of the ocean?

Bother - Lavaere must be busy or something. I'd love to see the next turn.

Lavaere July 4th, 2009 06:35 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Don't worry turn is in now. And not busy, just totally forgot to send in turns

Gregstrom July 4th, 2009 06:55 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

No worries. I'm guessing it wasn't a very time-consuming turn anyway.

Lavaere July 4th, 2009 06:59 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

You'll be surprised how time-consuming it can be. You want to get just the right amount breaking a siege

Very true, although I sometimes find that massive overkill is a viable alternative.

I somehow forgot to email in the turn I completed yesterday.
I am at work today and will not be back to my gaming machine till this evening.

If possible, please delay hosting till I get that turn in this evening.

Sorry for the oversight.

Bye for now,
Anthropos (TC)

I postponed hosting by 10 hours. Will that be enough?

Yes.
Many thanks.

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

I've asked the server for a resend GB. However, it's useful for you to know that you can do it yourself. The link is on the bottom of the game page on the LlamaServer ("Request turn resend").

llamabeast July 5th, 2009 08:03 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Oh! But the e-mail address is set to Amonchakad's! Now I don't understand how you got last turn... let me see if I can find your e-mail address somewhere (if you see this PM it to me, but don't post it here or you will start getting spam).

llamabeast July 5th, 2009 08:05 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Okay! I found your e-mail address, and requested a resend again. You should get the turn in the next few minutes.

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Out of curiousity is there any way at all to remotely site search for holy sites? Or a relatively cheap summon that has at least H2?

llamabeast July 6th, 2009 10:22 AM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

No, there's no remote search spell.

Telestic animates have H2 I think, but then they can't move so they're not a whole lot of use.

It's all about your prophet basically I think.

Gregstrom July 6th, 2009 04:41 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

That's interesting - Holy war: Priests and Sacreds is supposed to boost national holy priests.

Pretty much every other nation with only H1 access gets bumped to H2 somewhere, and I'm very surprised that Sauro hasn't.

llamabeast July 6th, 2009 04:45 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Have we included that part of the mod? I'm a bit confused about it, but can't see it in the mod, and Tir na n'Og isn't changed.

Gregstrom July 6th, 2009 04:56 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Ah. I hadn't thought about that - good point. I can only assume I was in Unsanity mode when I posted that. I even went as far as checking Priests and Sacreds, and Sauro hasn't been boosted in there.

Aethyr July 7th, 2009 04:49 AM

I have to take a work related road trip so I am requesting a 4 hour extension for the current turn. Thanks

Done!

Gregstrom July 7th, 2009 05:28 AM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

@shard: It looks like Sauro's priests were meant to be H2 in Priests and Sacreds, but it didn't quite get put in the mod. That's unfortunate, I'd say.

Sorry about that. It seems that I remembered to decrese the cost of Oiorpatas but forgot to up the holy levels on the priest. Well, you can find all common magic sites with a H1 priests. Then, several of the common sites allow you to recruit H2 priests (like Preacher & Templar Abbot).

But you know, if you happen to have a province with mysteriously increasing order & magic & luck scales, it might be worthwhile to check that out with a prophet. Then you'll have all the priests you need.

shard July 7th, 2009 08:36 AM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

I've found a couple of cool sites, i just wanted to be sure I get them all :D

Thanks for the tip about the scales

That is why, even though Oceania's sympathy goes to Lanka, we are betting 1 water gem on Fomoria ;)

I'll be expecting that gem to arrive shortly. The Fomorian people are now extinct, which explains why you don't see them in MA. Well, they're extinct except for a single Fomorian Giant who saw the error of his ways and fought with the Lankans to liberate his home from an oppressive regime.

Quite possibly, although the horde of walking corpses must have helped.:rip:

Thanks for a good game, Lavaere. You did have me worried at times, and there were some tough battles in there. I've learnt a couple of useful lessons.

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Well Aethyr, that was a blatant breaking of the NAP which you were so keen on.

I'd suggest that other nations in Helheim's vicinity to be extra careful - he can sail and he has far-ranging stealthy flying thugs with bodyguards. Particularly potent with a leader who disregards diplomatic agreements.

Aethyr July 10th, 2009 12:37 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Shard,

I have sent you a PM clarifying your misconception (which I note you have chosen not to respond to); we never had a NAP.

To the nations of the land: Sauro's arrogance has made him vunerable. Those of you who share a border with him will never have a better chance to take down this mighty foe.

We are committed to his destruction; join us and keep what you take.

The Lords of Shadow

shard July 10th, 2009 01:19 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

The emissaries and diplomats of Sauromatia, perhaps naive and unwise to the silver tongues of the Lord of Shadow, nevertheless do try to take great care in their penmanship. This does mean however that replies aren't always instantaneous, particularly when previous records have to be sifted through.

We stand by our statements.

We have reason to be aggrieved, and consider Helheim to be our mortal foes at this juncture, despite what seems to be an alliance with Oceania and Tien Chi. For those taking an interest, rather than consider us a 'mighty foe', we humbly suggest that you may also view us as strong, steadfast allies.

The High Witchking

Aethyr July 10th, 2009 09:54 PM

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Game Started!]

Of course you stand by your statements, why should anyone expect otherwise?

The simple facts are that you rejected our offer, and while we were still discussing "counter proposals" which we earnestly emplored you to consider, you took the territory that our offer was contingent upon.

You do indeed have reason to be aggrieved: you have under estimated us. We deem the nations of the land to be too wise to be deceived by your pathetic ploy. Through your naked aggression you have shown the wind. Now, the whirlwind comes.
