Glad to be able to surprise you :). I hope you won't hold it against me. But I didn't fancy my chances against you when it came down to it. I guess we'll see if it was a good idea or not soon enough.

Niefelheim is beaten. We will accept peace terms with Hinnom and Tir Na Nog, if they are offered.

Did not help that the Scale bug hit my cap. But it did.

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

scale bug?

rdonj September 28th, 2009 01:44 AM

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

Are you sure about that, or is that just one of those drunken ramblings I've come to expect from you? ;) Well, I've PMed you, if you're serious we can talk about it.

I'm sorry to hear you were hit by the scales bug. I hope that did not give me an unfair advantage in the attack. I guess it's just our luck out here in the west. The land is poor, the competition is fierce, and we're beset by bugs? Next thing you know, the pantokrator is going to descend from the heavens to set his house back in order... right in the middle of the four of us.

By the way, I am interested in purchasing a burning pearl or a ring of the warrior, if anyone is able to get me one. I can pay a reasonable price in fire, air, or nature gems.

rdonj September 28th, 2009 01:50 AM

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

Oh, also, sorry about those jaguar warriors shard. I was merely scouting with that army, I had no intention of attacking you.

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

A sidhe champion and 14 sacred tuatha warriors seem a pretty big force; we shall do our best to give them a decent burial.

rdonj September 28th, 2009 12:39 PM

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

Just a standard expansion party that I sent to scout in the area of the hinnom-mictlan war. We thank you for seeing to their proper burial.

Yes, that was a #5 :)

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

Ah, the clever Ulmish battle tactic of fatiguing themselves out with flying shards and then casting stoneskin followed by ironskin is finally working.

What's a scale bug btw.?

Lingchih September 28th, 2009 11:49 PM

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

The scale bug is rather rare. When it happens, usually in your cap, your scales are not accurately reflected in the prov. For instance, in this game, where I am Nief with cold 3, I have no cold in my cap, though my dom there is very high. In fact, I have not had any cold there all game, even though all my other provs with Dom have cold now, ranging from 1-2.

The bug can affect any scale, not just temp.

I'll be honest, 500 gp of pd is not what I expected.

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

I have a scale bug in another game. I should have misfortune 1. But instead I have misfortune 3. Which will probably doom me.

vfb October 2nd, 2009 07:15 PM

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

Your misfortune 3 is probably due to a Baleful Star that you got as a result of your misfortune 1.

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

Dagnabbit, 2500 gold worth of experienced Jarls sent to Valhalla, and all I got was one pretender god's eyeball. Not a good trade, methinks. But, at least, 14 mages patrolling is 14 mages that are not researching or site searching.

Those guys are just too brave. I think I need to lower their morale rather than boost it. They need to know when it's time to run.

rdonj October 3rd, 2009 03:07 AM

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

:)

Pretty disgusting how useless those mages are for killing niefel jarls, though. This has been a pretty awful war for both sides. If only I had a decent water income.

If anyone has any water gems or burning pearls for trade, you know where to find me.

500? :)
You know I had 5000gp at the start of the turn and could only spend 1000...
But then if you just had another king you might have won...

Shard is now on vacation, but has assigned a sub. I don't know his name, just e-mail adress, which I managed to barely change before hosting.

I extended the clock 24h to give the sub time to send in his turn.

Burnsaber October 8th, 2009 12:41 PM

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

We had some problems with the sub's e-mail adress. Managed to change it just now, so we unfortunaly have to endure another 24h delay.

Hmmm... I sent my turn yesterday, but llamaserver page shows it is still waiting for Marverni turn. As I won't be home until at 18 GMT tonight, could the game be a bit further postponed so I can resend the turn immediatly when I get home?

I didn't. But the game has hosted now, it was probably just some llamaserver hiccup.

I will be travelling from Oct 19th-24th without internet acess. i have a sub hopefully, but he is not a forum member, so i won't resond to PM's during that time. burnsaber, don't worry about the emails, i got it taken care of.

I'll be away from 20th to 22nd of October next week. Shouldn't be a problem if we stick with the about 48 hour cycle so far, so I won't be looking for a sub for the time.

I will be out of town and away from internet access from Oct 23 - 25 for a funeral. Could we make it a long weekend pause for this game please?

Thanks

Yeah, of course. Feel free to give the extension yourself when you see that it's necessary.

I am about to leave for a cruise to Sweden in a moment. Sadly it looks like this game won't host before that, thus I won't make it back for the next deadline.

Can the next (not the current that is) hosting (due on Thursday 22nd) be delayed to until 18 GMT, so that I can take the turn when I get back home?

Apparently llamaserver has put up the next hosting to wednesday. That should likely be enough for you to get back from your trip.

Re: The Early Days. Game running.

Possible bug i think.

the troll ambassador: besides being really annoyingly having only misc slots despite his humanoid appearence, he has no magic, yet when you choose his actions you can click "forge magic item" or "cast ritual spell" but of course there are no options, just the screen. he can also be told to "cast" maybe its just a copystats quirk, but i thought i'd report it.

Edit: also, i guess the only applicable use he has that he shouldn't is that he can alchemy without magic.

oh and he can't research

Edit again: after having a little modding explained to me, i'm guessing the magic path thing is to allow him to lead troops underwater but he's not supposed to be a mage, but he can be empowered straight to level 2 water for 30 gems. (would this only give him W1?)

Intentional to prevent using her as a Thug chassis (She needs to be tough however, since assasinating her will bring death to all troops following her). Hopefully I remembered to explain the "in-game" reason for her lack of slots in the description?
(I'm 100% sure if I remembered to do that in my last update)

Yeah, there isn't much I can do about that. She's copystatting Lord of the Seas for the "bring troops UW- ability", which gives her his magic too.

Yeah, empowering her will just give W1. She's currently W1 base, but also has -1 water magic (the same way like land capricorns get magic penalties).

Can't you clearmagic after copystats?
