Massive? I wouldn't say massive. We only have like ten-twelve thousand skeletons and couple of dozen of tartarians or so. And we don't have any useful globals up either!

Well, the score graphs show you topped out with over 32,000 troops. Yeah, you've got 10-12 thousand on me (minus a few from that last storming), but I assume you must have a lot more in reserve.

But yeah, Ermor can probably not win. You move too slowly, and seem reluctant to take the battle to the caps you need to gain a win. Jotun is in a good position to win, needing only one more VP. But actually, I'll put my money on Atlantis. He's got the forge, and no enemies.

Sieging my cap would possibly get you another VP, but would be quite costly, and would even perhaps fail, since I have mages of all disciplines in there, along with the maenad hordes I have previously faced you with. Even if you take my cap, I also own the former Caelum cap. It will take you years to march up and siege that VP. The game will surely be over by then, won by whoever.

Sorry, I don't mean to be a spoiler. I'm just stating what I see for the game. I never thought I would win as Pan, I just wanted to hang in there until the end, which it looks like I will do.

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

OK, I finally just watched the last storm on me. I had to move it to my Macbook Pro, since my PC could not play it back. I had left minor forces in place to defend. And they did quite well.

I would doubt, at this point, that Ermor can take my cap.

And, off topic... Is Ermor totally broken? The expanding battlefield seems to me so.

I doubt it too, at least with just skeletons and thaumaturgs. And that is the reason why I'm reluctant to move onwards fast. You are correct on that I'm not in the best position to win at the moment, but as jotun decided to cancel our nap, maybe I can wreak some havoc...

And freespawn certainly does have it's problems, if battlefield wide spells could actually affect the whole battlefield, it wouldn't be broken.

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

I would say Atlantis is the winner unless we all kiss and make up and invade Atlantis :) He has the forge for too long already. I bet he has all sorts of teleporting nasties by now. The closest Atlantis victory point to any army we have of significant size is the underwater Atlantis capital, and there's no way we can take that. So I guess we'll all just have to wait for Atlantis to finish forging stuff for his 200 Frog SCs and come take our victory points.

Quitti April 22nd, 2010 06:48 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Or then you could divert your forces to him instead of me, oh poor little Ermor. The forge has been on for quite a while and we can't really do much about it.

Anyway, isn't army size counted from unit sizes and not unit amount? Skeletons are size2 and skel cavalry are size 3, so 30k army size equals to about 13k-14k units or so. The biggest stack of mine had 10113 undead and 284 normal troops last turn when jotun peeked at it before the storm on that fort.

Also, this picture is the army in question, just having won the fight with a few hundred skeletons lost.

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Atlantis as the main threat? lol. one nation is just 1 vp away from victory, and the other has 16k undead sitting around plus plenty of healed tartarians. yeah the fishmen have a forge. but other than that..... we're short.

Quitti April 22nd, 2010 10:32 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

But you have recruitable SC chassis, so you don't really need much more than forge :)

Either way, I'm not fighting you. I've got my hands full trying to think what to do with Pan and Jotun...

Ahh, thanks Quitti, never realized army size was based on size, not unit amount.

And, that's such a scary picture :cold:

Hmm. The battles become interesting. Jotun has a chance to win. Let's just get the damn thing done.

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

After years of fighting, the Jotuns are near the end of their journey. The giants will bring peace to the world of Warcry one way or another.

Quitti April 25th, 2010 09:08 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Mayhaps this can turn out interestingly. I wonder if Atlantis has really put the forge into good enough use to counter that army...

Lingchih April 27th, 2010 06:06 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

And.... after seeing all that carnage, and Quitti staling, I think I shall go AI. Unless anyone has any objections.

Quitti April 27th, 2010 06:30 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Ah well, I was out drinking, thought I had today still to make the turn. Damn.

At least Jotun didn't win yet :) Ling, I'd prefer you not to go AI, but if you don't want to go on, go ahead. It's been fun looking at you behind my borders and walls so far.

I'm out for weekend, so if anyone needs hosting extension - do it yourself. I will PM admin pass to Quitt, Lolomo and FrozenLama, I trust that you won't mess with the game and use it only when needed. I will be back on Tuesday.

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Hey, I'm glad I hung around for a while longer. That was quite amusing, Quitti. I don't think I've ever seen 30 assassination attempts in the same prov in one turn before.

I think I actually charmed as many as I killed. I thought this was a no-trade game though? And what am I going to do with a dozen assassins with banefire crossbows? Ah well, more mouths to feed. So be it.

Quitti May 3rd, 2010 03:28 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Oh don't worry, commanders won't actually require feeding, even though they do eat.

Anyway, got tired of looking them hanging around, so I thought I'd make some use out of them. Too bad they didn't do much, killed just one dryad and a sleeper or something like that. I originally made them to counter pythium if he should step out of his cap with his mages, so they've been around for a while. But you charmed 8 of them by my count, which isn't even 1/3rd :). I guess I'll have to refrain from doing stuff out of boredom before the game's outcome is not set yet...

Lingchih May 3rd, 2010 09:39 PM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Actually, I charmed 11 of them. They are still quite worthless to me though. You have long life, I have long life. The banefire crossbows are not much worth. I guess I can use them as scouts.

ok, sounds like everyone is ok with quitti winning this one. i won my battle. good job quitti.

Lingchih May 3rd, 2010 11:24 PM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Heh, screw that. You guys made me stay in. I'm not quitting now. Quitti can win over my cold, dead body.

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

More fun! We can end this now if people want to, but I can keep going.

Lingchih May 4th, 2010 09:12 PM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Nah Quitti, I was just being foolish. The game is yours. Congrats. I hated how you ran from that last battle though, with the vortex of returning. I was hoping to see one last bit of action.

LoloMo May 4th, 2010 11:05 PM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Congrats Quitti! That's one nasty bone factory! You managed to keep everyone at bay while you built up your engine.

Lingchih May 5th, 2010 12:55 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

You did, of course, use the one of the broken parts of the Dom 3 engine to win. But, we all knew it was broken, so our fault for not killing you from the start.

Lingchih May 5th, 2010 01:02 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

I would think that, in most games, MA or EA Ermor needs to be dealt with from the beginning. Killing them, that is. It wasn't done in this game, and we see the results.

I would have taken them on early myself, but Zeldor played his hand, and attacked me. Causing a multi-year battle, where I was brought out of the overall game.

Yeah, I agree it's broken. Something should be done to it. I wasn't aware of it before actually engaging you in the fight with those 10k undead though, might've otherwise limited the stack size a bit or split it up into multiple armies which still wouldn't have been easy pickings (like the one 1k army rampaging around and taking C'tis cap for example).

Anyway, if everyone's willing to call it, I can live with that. I can post my last turn after the game has been declared ended.

Lingchih May 5th, 2010 05:07 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

I think it's just up to Atlantis to end it, since he is the only one who has not posted. Considering he staled last turn though, he may not even be paying attention. I declare the game done, and Quitti (Ermor), the winner.

Quitti May 5th, 2010 05:12 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Well, as FrozenLama was banned, I doubt he's going to come checking. I'll ask him on the IRC. We all have the admin pass so I can declare it ended if/when FL replies to me.

Lingchih May 5th, 2010 05:47 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Ahh, yeah, forgot he got banned. It's effectively over then, anyway.

Quitti May 5th, 2010 05:51 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Yeah, I asked him on the dom3mods & IRC. Trum said he's going to be on in 12h or so at least, I suppose we can wait for that :)

Quitti May 6th, 2010 03:06 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

So, the reply I got was "I thought we already did", so I suppose he doesn't mind ending it. Good game everyone.

Here's my last turn if anyone's interested. I'd like to see Atlantis' last turn, maybe I can coax it out from him on the other forums...
