Very funny...

Anyway, we have been delaying the game frequently. It is not any one player. What do you guys think of switching to 72 hours per turn?

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

I've received a pm from Man, due to real life consideration they will be bowing out after taking this turn. I'll be looking for a sub, it would help if everyone help look for one too.

After this turn I may extend the following turn for two or so days if a sub has yet to be found, with AI being an option after that.

Nauquan November 18th, 2010 06:49 PM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Yes, lets delay to find a sub. Man is in decent shape, and too big to make AI without gifing his neighbors.

Finalgenesis November 19th, 2010 01:30 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

It seems that my efforts to look for a sub will be continually sabotaged.

I will request moderator to close my sub-request thread and ask either of the two other admins (Not sure who you are, Bon never told me) to repost the sub thread (you can copy my thread or make your own), it should draw less fire if I'm not the one posting.

I'll submit my request to the mods later today.

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Something's just now come up, and I'd like to request a delay of 48 hours for the next turn. If we're looking for a sub, we can probably use a bit of a delay in any case, so hopefully this doesn't interfere with things too much.

Finalgenesis November 19th, 2010 05:07 AM

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

works just fine :)

Seems we have found a sub too, so no need for all the hassle of someone making another thread. The sub can start taking his turn on Monday, and since Man already submitted its last turn this round the timing couldn't be more perfect!

I'm the sub for Man. Thanks to everyone who have already sent me pms with the diplomatic relations between Man and other nations. I'll reply once I've actually got the turn file and looked at the map.

If you see me doing stupid things: this is my first MP endgame. I've played plenty of time in sp, but I assume it's quite different.

Don't have the heart or the stamina to start over, so I am delaying the game by 16 hours. Hope that is OK.

You don't know what its like to fear the dispel of my sea of ice :( And how annoying it is to keep a big pile of W gems in case that happens rather then retake maelstrom.

Bummer. My turns consist of

10 minutes watching my mages die
5 minutes shaking my tiny fist at Bob the Vastness (Voltaron just doesn't elicit that emotion)
20 minutes writing poor scripts.

Win or lose I am enjoying the game though.

You banished Bob back to the void *sniff* :(.

Lankwood forest has to be on the top of 100 worst place to live list, It's swampy, wet, psycho central, druggies everywhere, ghost villages, non-stop incursion by undeads / tartarians / necromancers, hordes of phantom longdead riders going this way and that, and it's been that way for what feels like years. It's also the last bastion of my power on land, it almost feels like a evil swampy forest version of Mordor, soon to be fell by forces of ligh.... wait no, by undeads and necromancers, crazies vs undeads, nevermind there.

Finally, I declare that we have entered into the age of WMD.

This does not bring happy thoughts.

--------------------------

I have taken the liberty of extending turns to 72 hours. Why?
1) We are in late game
2) We had a resounding vote of "I don't care" earlier.
3) The holidays are upon us, and I would like to stay married (most days).

If anyone objects, please post.

Thanks.

Bob could not be killed. He was just sent back to his old neighborhood.

Lankwood is indeed the badlands of Gluttony. I can imagine an old weatherbeaten sign hanging outside the province...

I would like to whine a little.

The battle has gone past the scripted orders

He has: one wraith lord with 8 HP left
I have: about 150 troops, elephants, etc. several commanders including a level 4 priest

My wonderful mages decide this would be a good time to use up all of their gems. Nevermind the upcoming assault on his castle.

Army of gold
Will of Fates
Living Water
etc.

Argh!

Ouch. Been there. Makes me wonder if the ai reevaluates the opposing forces at script end or sticks with the prebattle strength assessment.

I'll be on holiday next week without internet access. I'll make sure to send in the current turn on sunday. I'd like a delay for a few days if possible, if not it's no big deal if I stall one turn.

Beware of the cornered beast! (… and cornered we are, in every sense of the word.)

Our vault is a shadow of it's former overflowing past as our enemies wised up and our loots dried up. (Though we are thankful for the latest contribution, we will put it to good use…)

Every month our circle dwindles, as children gather to grimly watch their parent(s) strap on suicide packs (1 pearl) and march to war, waving their trunks tragically. (You just made 3 orphans last month mister! You monster you!)

Oh, we are accepting any donations to the orphan suicide traini… errr orphaned war victim fund. (preferably in pearls)

Our gem management department stands vacant, as spawns after spawns go insane and quit the position. (Is monthly gemflow statements too much to ask?!)

Our popula… wait what population?

Ahhh… Another day in R'yleh.

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

I vote to start a sub thread asap. Patala is an important spot that'll throw the balance of the game right out if left alone.

We can add a disclaimer that Patala won't be confirmed Mia until tommorrow hosting time (so in 30 hrs or so) in case he comes back, you never know if a player just wants to cut it close.

Otherwise if he really doesn't show and don't think it's worth 30 seconds of his time to give us a heads up then we don't have to feel bad about it.

I would ask someone else to make the thread this time though, mine may get sabotaged.

I can attest to seeing (well, and fighting) rudras, siddhas and the usual 4 armed or lute playing goodies, I think there's a market for late late game patala with all the goodies and very solid position, sub shouldn't be that hard to find.

I've extended for 48 hrs in the interim to resolve the matter.

Re: Gluttony - LA Game - Running

Our new monkey overlord is: Mauxe

Please give him a round of applause!

Do update your diplo with him and help him catch up to speed! I am composing my pm to him as we speak.

the game is hosting in 48 hrs, but considering this is his first turn with a large and advanced empire, I will be offering generous extension on behalf of Gluttony players to our sub to familiarize himself with his empire (no small task) and put all his diplo in order.
