Wow, someone was sitting on waaay too many pearls. The rest of the players should thank me for performing a public service and clearing out someone's AN stash.

I'm surprised its Yomi who's coming after me militarily - isn't BoT good for you, being demons and all? Oh well, this is more like it. Party in Atlantis! Liquid refreshments are served!

(Finally, someone who has enough stuff they might end me, yay)

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Alright! Big party under the waves, our Triton Kings will be there, and so will our Bishop Fish now that the BoT is down I suppose. A shame about Operation F- the world though, my Master Lich was so looking forward to it.

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

It was more of a strategic move than a concern about BoT effect on us. Although, I might have thought twice if I had more respect for those basalt kings of yours. :p Funny, I don't remeber them being that tough, and I certainly did not expect to loose two golems in an opening raid.

rabelais, I am sorry for your loss.

Our condolences rabelais.

I think we should put this game on hold until a sub is found. TC is a top 3 nation.

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Shouldn't we be on hold for TC?

I'll be postponing the game and look for a sub. Rabelais, sorry to hear for your loss. Take care. And give me a message if you want to come back.

Hello, I am Pjoo and I will be your TC sub this and consecutive evenings. Reachable for diplomacy through IRC and with any luck PMs on Shrapnel/Dom3mods.

Also! Lolomo... Go away!

I've postponed the game just in case until the llamaserver internet issue has been corrected.

Thanks Quitti, I have not been able to devote sufficient time to the current turn due to a busy week. Could you please postpone the current turn until Sunday 24:00GMT? Thanks

All you latecomers to the party underwater, for shame, thinking you could snipe provinces at little risk. I fear I am doing irreparable harm to Yomi and you all think you can benefit.

I would like to announce that the provinces just siezed by Nieflheim are especially valuable in gem production, and you should contest those provinces fiercely. I'm not kidding. its like 12 gems/trn between the two provinces.

Something like 10 geared SCs coming underwater makes one wonder what Nieflheims other neighbors are doing to afford him such luxury.

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

You might just be right Squirreloid. Had I recalled your stubborn tenacity in time, I might have thought twice about engaging you in UW war. :)

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Since when taking back one's own province classifies as sniping?
The only sniping was done by Atlantis when you took three UW provinces of mine when I was occupied elsewhere. I just continued the war started back then.

Sorry for killing that four basalt kings.

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

To Ctis

We are confused by your banelord.

Your banelord with winged shoes always attack our commanders no matter where they are,on the front or on the rearmost,
even we set many troops on the battlefied and block the flying path. But your banelord could still attack the commanders.
Even when our commander cast phoniex pyre first, and then be attack by your banelord and blink to another position, between the commander and your banelord, there are still many troops, but your banelord with winged shoes still attack the commanders.

These things last out for many turns.

Would you please explain how to do this?
We would very likely to study.

Thanks

Abysia mscfish

Your provinces? UW provinces? hah. The incompetence of my predecessor is not a fair basis for a claim. Regardless, the truth about those provinces is out, and thank god i think i might actually die here =P. Longest 'last stand' ever.

Just luck. There is no attack commanders command as far as I know, just 'Fire commanders' from bogus et co. which is banned from this game. I can send the turn to a trustworthy person to confirm I'm not using such commands if you really want to.

It's starting to be midsummer festival time here. I'll do my turn before leaving, but the next turn might need a slight delay - I'll be back on sunday. I will be on IRC occasionally, so if you need to contact me, leave me a message there.

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

I understand that there are problems with the latest patch. Well, I have not patched yet. I downloaded the latest turn file, but dom crashes when I try to play it. I get a, "...version too old..." message. Anyone else get the same thing?

LoloMo June 28th, 2011 02:52 AM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

I got the same thing. I patched and everything works. Except several units got double weapons I think. Llamabeast is working on fixing the mods I think.

Quitti June 28th, 2011 03:14 AM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

I haven't updated my dom3 yet - but fear not, I won't let it host before the game/CBM is fixed. Llamabeast promised a fix at latest on weekend, but he's done the fixing script already. Just as a precaution, I've postponed the turn to host on friday midday.

I wouldn't recommend doing your turn before the mod fix is on llamaserver.

I would appreciate reporting it at least here if anyone sees any weird effects on current turn. I believe it still hosted as last version, but updated to newer one after the turn hosted.

Llamabeast to the rescue!

Download the new CB1.71 from http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?p=779560
It's the fixed version of the mod we're using. Don't do your turn without it if you have patched your dominions 3, and if you have not patched yet, I'd still suggest you use the new mod and patch right after doing the turn (or before).

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Lords of Abysia:

Though we have been at peace for many seasons, the time of our peace is at an end. Mictlan has been a constant friend from the beginning of our administration, and we will not stand by and see them consumed by your flame. Yomi stands with Mictlan. Cancellation of our NAP is hereby given.

Aethyr July 6th, 2011 01:35 AM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

So, now we know that not only is Abysia the leading power in the land, but it is a nation that is lacking in honor as well.

So be it, but know this: no one who violates NAP with Yomi will ever profit by it. It matters not what happens next. We will devote every GP, every gem, every.single.resource.to.your.destruction.

mscfish July 6th, 2011 02:05 AM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Aethyr,watch your words.

DO WE EVER HAVE SIGNED ANY NAP TREATY?(I have check the messages carefully, there is no words about it)

You libeled us lacking of honor.OK,Let me tell you what is the trueth. We have engaged with Yomi from long long ago, almost in the 10th Turn.Someday Yomi asked us for peace and attack sauro together.Abysia accepted yomi's suggetion and stop attacking with yomi.It keeps a long time until some turns ago(maybe 2 or 3 turns)

When we attack ctis, mic attack us,of course,we must fight back. But Yomi make it pretence, and declare war upon us.

Should we still keep your that "NAP"?How?We even don't kno how many turns of the NAP treay.

Sorry for that too many word of boring.
Just begin the war,Yomi!

Aethyr July 8th, 2011 07:07 AM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

mscfish, I see no point in continuing this dicussion other than to set the record straight.

You may recall that we traded a few "in game" messages in the begining when I had a SC or two sitting on top of your cap and a few other provinces. My offer, as I recall it, was to withdraw from your lands if you would do the same, and to help you against Sauro if you chose to invade him in exchange for a NAP. Your response was: "we agree to your proposal", or words to that effect. :)

If you do not have the same recollection, it's cool, as you said we're at war now. But I assure you that if I did not believe we had a NAP my "announcemnet" that I was helping Mictlan against you would have been a multi-pronged assault against your core lands rather than a post in the game thread. ;)

To those of you who may be entertaining a notion of watching Aby and Yomi weaken each other for a bit before pouching on one or both of us, you should strike Aby sooner, rather than later.

Unlike C'tis, who has fought valiantly against Aby alone for a very long time, and my attempt at a bit of good-natured role play aside, Aby is too strong for me. So, either suck it up and step up and fight him now, or declare him the victor. It will not take him long to roll me up.

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Lord of ulm

You attack us without canceling the nap3 treay.

We will try our best to vanquish ULM whatever it will cost.

LoloMo July 9th, 2011 02:44 PM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Hmm, I don't remember any treaty between us, and I checked my forum messages and there was none. And Abysia is obviously about to win the game, so Ulm can't stay uninvolved any longer.

mscfish July 9th, 2011 11:45 PM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Lolomo

Did you check your message carefully?

We don't want to make peace with ULM,but we need to tell everyone what is the truth that the users of ULM is a lier. And even at this moment,he is still lying.

Lolomo,CAREFULLY Check your two message sent in 12-14-2010.

Abysia don't care how many ones are there in the dogpile ,but we really look down on the behavior of ULM,and we will revange.

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

i think mscfish is finding out the hard way why most vets either dont sign NAP's or dont put much trust in them. it is just really dumb to assume someone will be nice to you and give you some kind of bull**** warning before they attack. and there is too much drama anyways

Aethyr July 10th, 2011 02:40 AM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

NAPs have their place. How much trust one places in them (or should place in them) will always be situational, and really depends on the players involved. Drama? Definately. :)

LoloMo July 10th, 2011 07:30 AM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Abysia,

We've checked again, and true enough we did sign a NAP 7 months ago. Since then, we've never had any other communication, and that treaty was tucked 5 pages away.

You have to pardon our Shaman record keeper. He really doesn't like his job and instead of digging through hundreds of leather scrolls in his dark hut, he decided to oil and polish his antler headpiece instead. He has been replaced by his nephew, who hopefully will be more diligent.

So you have earned reprieve from the tiny but surprisingly terrible and feared nation of Ulm for this and the next turn. Our condolences to the dozen or so infantries we chased away. We will remove our troop from the one Abysian fort we have under siege. The silly metal head has an appointment with his optometrist anyway. We resume full scale unilateral devastating invasion in 2 turns. Unless of course you decided to just get on with the business of exacting vengeance on us immediately.

Especially in the endgame.

On Other News, the Lizards, that's us, killed 10/11 Aby SCs (and 30 devils or so) on top of our cap without breaking a sweat last turn. Well, there was some sweating, but it froze off quickly in the chill auras. We think one Tartarian managed to escape, but for my quick count, the rest of the pile was worth couple of hundred blood slaves and a total of 735 gems worth of gear and SC chassises. I'm now in possession of some of that gear of course, maybe 200 gems worth of. Can't be arsed to count.

Feel free to exact your quick justice on Abysia. He still does have tons of SCs. I wonder where he gets all those gems - has someone been feeding him? Bad choice. And there's a pile of 200-ish storm demons around too.

Sorry,guys.

I am going to take some exam 4 month later, and i need to prepare for it.

The end-game take me too much time to do the turn, and i will find someone to sub me.

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Good Luck with your studies mscfish. You played a strong game, and Abysia is still the favorite to win it all. Hope to see you in a game again sometime soon.

Thank you,Aethyr.

There're too many nations fight with us,and we almost pay 3-4 hours to finish one turn,so i give up.Sorry guys.Wish you good luck.I am keeping looking for someone sub for me.

Good luck with your exams McFish!

Shall we put the game on hold until a sub is found?

Quitti July 19th, 2011 05:38 PM

I've postponed the turn by 72 hours while mscfish is looking for a sub.

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

It looks like there isn't anyone who want to sub for me

:(

Quitti July 21st, 2011 04:38 PM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

So, shall you continue to play then or should we call it a game without a winner, or just set Aby to AI and, well, bugger off to wherever people want to. I'm pretty much done for and don't really care myself, except that if people want to finish it, I'll still be admining it unless someone else wants to take it over which I doubt. I've postponed the turn by 48h again just in case.

Aethyr July 21st, 2011 10:10 PM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Quitti, I would be willing to take over the admin duties if you do not want to continue, provided it's OK with everyone else.

As you said, the larger question is what do you folks want to do?

LoloMo July 21st, 2011 11:19 PM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

I"m ok with the new admin. I vote to play on. At the worst we can set Aby to AI, but we should wait at least a week more for a sub to materialize since Aby is the most powerful nation right now.

Quitti July 23rd, 2011 06:42 AM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

I've once again postponed the turn by 48h, It's on due for wednesday now.

Setting aby AI is about the same as just calling the game. There'd be no point in it after that - the leading (province/gem -wise) nation set to AI pretty much kills the point. That's my opinion.

I'll PM the admin password to Aethyr in case I don't hear any complaints this weekend - It'll be easier to me, I don't really have much to play for in this game. I'll still be holding my cap for a while, but after that I'm toast, as if Abysia can't get it, then Ulm probably will.

P3D July 23rd, 2011 03:27 PM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

I have to agree, I see no point in playing further with AI Abysia.

Quitti July 25th, 2011 03:37 PM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

I've PM'd Aethyr the admin pw. Let's see if we don't have to call this yet. We'll really need a sub for aby to continue.

You can still contact me on IRC for admin duties, provided that Aethyr won't change the password.

Aethyr July 25th, 2011 09:44 PM

Re: BearTrap - Early age game. Running like a cripple in a running competition.

Thanks Quitti, I'll keep the same password just in case, and thanks for handling the admin duites thus far.
