Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

I think this would be a good time to take a christmas break from the game, especially since Atlantis and Pangaea stalled last turn, probably due to holiday related stuff.

Put the game on quickhost until the 27th or something?

Oh, and good luck in the war Adder, looking forward to seeing our armies clash :)

All right, Changing it to 168 hour turns.

I was hoping to get knocked out before christmas, but I guess I will have to wait until the new year.

I myself am gone 26-31, so it's gunna be a while...

Scratch that, I've just gone AI. God got skellispammed off the map.

I apologize for another stale turn there. It was, as you suspected, holiday stuff.

Well I cant play untill the 28th now as the laptop I took on holiday broke =/

Ack. Sorry it took me so long to get my turn in. I should be done with holiday-related distractions now.

Hi there!

I have a (noob) question regarding the patch: do we all have to update our copy in order to continue playing?

regards!

Corinthian January 7th, 2011 07:02 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

I assume not for a while. As the patch has not gone public yet. But once it does I think it is up to the admin whether to update the game or not. Llama server probably runs both versions.

That reminds me. Where are you my darkness? You stalled last turn and now you are the last one left not submitted in this turn. Has Atlantis fallen in to the great Ryleth dream again? Or do you have internet problem?

Kojusoki January 9th, 2011 01:59 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

Admin - could you please force hosting? Its crazy we have to wait for so long to make a turn...

Korwin January 9th, 2011 05:29 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

Funny, wanted to ask about opinions for an forced hosting.
Whats the Status with Atlantis? Does he still live? Should he be set to AI or would an Sub search be worthwhile?

Game was (Force)hosted by the way.

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

Uh, since when are the score graphs on?
*goes looking to the other games, looking*

Hmm, Rock the Cradle is still without score graphs...

Edit:
I dont see an Admin-Option to disable the score graphs after starting the game (or in the other direction, so I have no glue why now the graphs are on...)

adder83 January 9th, 2011 07:36 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

hi there!

there is some error with the ptach which caused the game to show the graphs. (see llamasever)

regards

Corinthian January 9th, 2011 07:39 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

Strangely enough, Kings of drama has lost its score graph, when it should normally have one.

According to a notice at the top of the page, there was a bug witch caused the score graphs to appear. It was said to have been fixed. But apparently not.

As for Atlantis, its player seem to have disappeared from the forum. He is in a strong position though, with no ongoing wars and many provinces. It will probably not be hard to find a replacement. Though I think we should wait and see if he turn in *this* turn first. It might have been some kind of unavoidable, but temporary, family issue.

13lackGu4rd January 9th, 2011 07:48 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

2 stales in a row is generally a good enough indication that someone has gone AWOL. just start looking for a sub now, and if he miraculously pops back up than put the sub on hold.

Corinthian January 9th, 2011 08:28 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

I agree. But the last turn was forced ahead of time so its not certain that he would have stalled otherwise. Though if everyone is sick of waiting, well, go ahead.

Corinthian January 10th, 2011 07:33 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

But yea. He will probably not show up this turn either. Should I make a thread (tomorrow) or will someone else take care of it?

adder83 January 11th, 2011 04:52 AM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

i think we should definitly look for a sub. He is staling far to often and actually altantis position is quite good.... i would love to get a nation like that for subbing but in this game i am already stuck with Tien Chi.

nerozero January 11th, 2011 06:21 AM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

Yeah, I agree, Atlantis has a good position, so it would be a shame to see him go AI, second the suggestion of finding a sub, shouldn't be too hard.

Mauxe January 11th, 2011 12:12 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

I am a newb, interested in subbing AND I have a strong drive to learn the game better. I can't promise to keep Atlantis in such a good position but I am on the game each night and will keep my turns going.

If the original player re-surfaces soon I would also step back gracefully and wait for the next newb game to start.

Thanks :)

I just had a chance to catch up on this thread over dinner.
Seems like quite a bit of drama...

Also, it does seem like Atlantis is cursed.

Ah well, I'll just acclimate myself to the landscape and get a turn sent out.

:)

Mauxe January 11th, 2011 11:33 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

Ok, when starting the game I choose Atlantis turn 34 but I am immediately asked for a password.

I see from an earlier post that a password is not required.
Any ideas?
I have the file saved appropriately to my savedgames/last_rites folder. I can see and select the game fine.

Shortly after I send you the Master Password and I delayed the hosting for 12 hours a turn got submitted for Atlantis.

I thought that where you...?

Yeah somebody really played a turn for atlantis...cause i noticed some army movement near my borders....

Mauxe January 13th, 2011 03:02 PM

Re: Last Rites - First Blood! - Third Year

Odd.. I would think that if the previous player came back he would check the boards. I assume he also had a turn 34 file.
Of course with the email address change he would not get a turn 35 file.. which might cause him to go looking.

Anyhow - I submitted turn 35 already.

I am away working the 18th and 19th. I forget what the turn cycle is at at the moment but could I please have an extension so I don't miss a turn. I will send the latest turn in just before I leave and should be back inside 48h from them.

Well I knew you could beat that disease ridden army. You probably could have skelly spammed it to death from day one. I was just hoping that *you* would not understand that.

And I did not know that those behemoths had fear aura. If you put some buffs on them, then they could even become worth building!

Still, it might have served its purpose. Does anyone still believe in you out in the world? How many dominion candles do you still have left?

Oh, we'll get you in the end you fiendish TC, we're just doing a tactical withdrawal. Oh, and stop killing my dragons, they're endangered you know!

How exactly did TC manage to kill 2 Gargoyles and an entire squad of Cavalry with just it's PD anyway?

And here i thought that TC would have been dead 10 turns ago.......

They have a lot of PD to be honest, and I've made some less than brilliant tactical decisions as well :D

Is this one of the strange things which can happen because of a rollback?

Corinthian January 25th, 2011 06:53 PM

Re: Last Rites - Running

Maybe. I'm hoping it's just a delay and that he will keel over tomorrow. As in: If you end a turn without dominion, you will die.

Corinthian January 26th, 2011 01:33 PM

Re: Last Rites - Running

Nope. He did not spontaneously fall over dead this turn either. Seems like I have to finish him in the old fashion way after all. Good thing I bothered to bring that big army up there. But I have the worst of luck when storming castles:(

I think this game didnt get rolled on its back...

Edit: Uhm, since I'm the Admin (inherited) in this game, we didnt do an rollback for shure. :D

13lackGu4rd January 26th, 2011 03:41 PM

Re: Last Rites - Running

no, we didn't have a rollback, so that's out of the question. Korwin, do you have any provinces with white candles in them? if not than this is certainly a bug and should be reported in the bug section.
