Tien'chi (Adder83) it is very important for you to respond to my PM's both ingame and on the forums, failure to do so is going to result in expansion parties meeting or go as far as immediate war.

If you want peace it is critical that you RESPOND.

Arcoscephale does not like musing in the dark, holding secrets and knowledge from others. Rather, we prefer to keep our neighbors and allies lit with knowledge and information

For this reason, Arcoscephale presents its latest work. A map of the known world! (Note: Flags do not signify capital)

In addition, some mumblings from the astrologers atop the highest mountains.

"Our scouts report that our expansion parties are finished. There is nowhere that remains to expand and we are beginning to feel the vice around us that is the nation of Bandar Log. Whom have cut us off from the entire unclaimed west and will certainly claim the port before us. As well the nation of T'ien'Chi that resides to our east and appears to have raced to keep us from riding to their position. We can only hope that the ones that lay to their east can lay waste and show them that focusing entirely on one cardinal sector was a poor idea. We are actively seeking who they are through many scouts so we may send messengers to work out deals should T'ien'Chi get greedy. Less so do we wish to know the owners of the northern realm. However if we can convince them from allowing Bandar to expand northernly it would only be a benefit to us"

"Furthermore, independant hostilites and power have raised. The remaining provinces that have yet to be annexed into the glory that is Arcoscephale are full of heavily armed knights or our own beasts of burden! Surely T'ien'Chi will claim the secondary port before we are able to crack the lands that harbour the elephants lest we disturb our mages. Perhaps we should seek those that live in the North East and ask them to set up a barricade."

"Economically and magically we grow. Our researchers and military increase each month and we've managed to attain many fertile lands. One stinks of death however and the population seems to be falling from no discenable cause. Our dominion fights with that of Bandar. We've yet to see a candle from T'ien'Chi. Within months we shall begin finding sites of magical power. Lucky we are, as we have found many gems through sheer luck without a single site found. Perhaps we shall use them to launch a surprise invasion on the independant lands bellow Bandar. They don't seem to care about them and have made no advance upon them. Why not teleport in our astrologers and mentally burn those that would oppose us there? Land is land after all..."

The monkeys are confused about the big words from Arco.
Do they want war? Those lands to the south are ours!

And that after we sent you our bannanas?

If the big words didnt mean what we where thinking, use smaller ones in the future.

ARG, beat this unluck

Fort going up, only 1 turn left. What happens in the Luck 2 province its in? Hydra. A single, ****ing, hydra unexpected event.

There goes 800 gold and 3 turns of building. Atleast the province isn't worth much (swamp) and makes a nice hydra barrier between me and Bandar.

Sigh barbarian invasion next to my cap. Its not like I needed those resources or anything.

I think my favorite experience with absurd rolls on the RNG would be the time I was playing kailasa and sent 20 yaksha sacreds with a yaksha commander to take an indie province with 20 or so infantry and 6 archers. I was running a strong air bless (70% airshield) and that was the first thing I put up. Turn two a single arrow is fired that avoids the airshield and hits my commander for 6hp damage (out of 28). It then proceeds to give him the battle fright affliction and he promptly fails a morale check and runs away with the whole force =/

It is a funny thing. While events like that are terribly annoying at the time , I think they are also a large part of the game's charm. :)

Well, I've met Agartha's pretender Zend Kuh and for an guy whose been dead for several decades he seems like an OK dude. Although he did keep muttering something like "brains, brains" and trying to chew my face off, but I figure that's all part of the charm.

Agarthan mythology long predicted that from the Mountain Deeps, a new Force would rise, able to defeat Death itself, and that it would bring a new life to the crumbling, abandonned Halls.

I guess that Ermor was a bit too curious, and has just checked and confirmed the reality of the prophecy. :)

'Sounds nasty. I hope she is okay now.

Edit: one of my other games just had an issue with the Llamaserver hosting too early. Result: a few stales. I think that may have been what happened with my stale turn. I was pretty tired when I checked the Llamasever timer that morning, but I'm pretty sure that it said I still had 12 hours (i.e., enough time to sleep before doing my turn). But then when I came back, the game had already hosted.

Anyway, apologies again for the stale. Of course, it means that Ashdod is now weak, so you can all be very nice to me. :D

Thanks for the kind wishes towards my daughter. She's ok; it was more of a sideways cut than a deep cut, so they just needed to do an X-Ray to make sure none of the glass stayed in, then they used skin glue to patch it up.

I've actually got my turn finished, but hotmail is not working on my computer. I'm going to try to find another way to get it turned in.

Agartha is purchasing your surplus of Earth gems. We will provide you with Fire, Air, Water, Death or Nature gems of the finest quality.

Rate is 1 to 1 +1 bonus gem offered for each 4 gems traded.

Beware to all wise Lords of this World.

The wild nations of Ermor and Vanheim have, in their infamy and jealousy, launched a vicious and coordinated attack to capture the Halls of the Oracles of Agartha and rape as many Pale Ones as they can. Our Golems will oppose a strong resistance to the barbarians. But we ask any civilized nation with a wish to maintain a reasonable balance of power (especially towards the already dominating Vanheim), to join us in the war ASAP.

We are purchasing more Earth gems, by the way.

Zend Kuh

Zend Kuh

The word co-ordinated implies a level of sophistication and competence to which I can only aspire :-) For the most part, I just plan to pour hordes of undead across the border until Zend Kuh and his Argathans get sick and tired of killing them and give up in disgust.

The nature of the disagreement between Ermor and Agartha can be summarised thus:
  • Ermor demanded Southern Agartha for the purposes of raising vast numbers of undead, as well as building a disneyland style theme park devoted to the joys of necromantically enhanced lifestyles.
  • Agartha politely declined, as Zend Kuh preferred to keep what was his rather than hand over territory to his greedy southern neighbor
  • Ermor attacked, which ended in dismal failure and frustration.
  • Not being overly bright, Ermor has now attacked again. Expect more spanking and general murder and mayhem to follow.

At this point, it is perhaps worth noting that key motivational motto of Democratic Centralist, First Consul of Ermor, is "if at first you don't succeed, raise more waves of undead and try it again."

jimbojones1971 January 27th, 2011 02:02 AM

Re: Cradle to the Grave--for noobies with a record of no staling--FULL

The first consul of Ermor, Democratic Centralist, is proud to announce the opening of our new theme park "Zombieland" in the territory formerly known as Southern Agartha.

"Zombieland" offers fun package deals for all the family! Bring your kids. Bring your wife. And above all, be sure to bring enough body-bags for everybody (or alternatively pick some themed ones up, signed by Democratic Centralist himself, at our amusement park shop - just next to the ticket stall as you enter).

We would like to extend our grateful thanks to Lord Zend Kuh for making all this possible, in particular for contributing the first batch of fresh bodies to kick start our "wheel of death" attraction.

I'm flexible with turn limits. Basically, when one of the players feels a need to increase the turn length, I reckon we ought to do it.

In the meantime, if you are comfortable with increasing the posting time on request, that also seems to be working well.

It is indeed down. When it comes back up if anyone hasn't submitted it will increase the timer by a few days.

This shouldn't be an issue though if everyone gets their turn in since it will auto host. Mail server still seems to be working since I got confirmation mails back that they were recieved.

Nope... I sent mine in twice in the last few hours, just to make sure, and haven't received a confirmation on either one of them.

So you're positive it won't auto-host without my turn? I'd hate it if my first decent stab at MP (I'm getting slain in my other game because of REALLY stupid newbie mistakes... hey all, let's make an Abyssian pretender with Death 3, it'll be awesome lol) ends with me staling through no fault of my own.
