As you all know there is a big bad dragon called a Zmey. He's a CONJ6 spell and requires an F4 mage.

There is also a much lesser Zmey that is a Bogarus national summons. He is significantly less powerful than his cousin. He only requires an F2 mage and a lower level on the CONJ scale to achieve.

I have the lesser guy. I can 100% guarantee you that others in this game will get the stronger Zmey LONG before I do as I am nowhere close to producing an F4 mage and I would be at CONJ6 for quite awhile.

And to save LL the trouble when (And IF) the time finally comes that I get the real ZMEY. I'll happily post it on the board so y'all can get the accurate information.

Cheers!

Come now, you have more than enough research to get there in no time, considering you've already hit several other major research goals in the interim easily enough (for your benefit, I won't disclose any).

And in any event, F4 is easily obtainable for Bogarus, with a RoW and a Starets with Death (Skull of Fire). And this is all assuming you don't get a F3 Starets, too, in which case a Skull of Fire will do (tnen you forge some flaming helmets for an F2 Starets for them to start summoning).

If it really is just one of your nat. summons, you're already at Conj 5, which puts you one research level from actual Zmeys. And given you've been uninterrupted with war, and you're overpatrolling all your provinces at 200% with Smigarls (as Shardphoenix said: if you weren't, then the Smigarls are wasted patrolling them all besides some minor spy hunting). Just 10 of them is enough to allow you to pump out 200% tax rates anyways, so I'd be shocked if you weren't.

Gang up on him now, before its too late!

I did? :(

Of course. You're just probably going to win it since we were all preoccupied with other matters to prevent Bogarus from scaling ridiculously into the late game peacefully. :)

Well, Ring o Wizardry is a big deal in itself. With national mages you need astral cap, crystal coin and Ring of Sorcery. That`s around 60 pearls, IIRC. And then you need 60 more for RoW itself. Possible, but definitely not easy

Fair enough. :)

Exactly...Of course when LL said it was easy. I thought he was implying he was going to give me a gift of 100 Astral Pearls :D

If he's not, there goes my plan of creating an army of the nasty Zmey's...ah well. Have to try plan B.

This is a Zmey (note that this is from a SP Bogarus game of mine which I use to basically summon anything I want to determine their stats etc.)

Given the scales/Globals I have, I'll point out it has 80 HP base, 18 base MR, 18 base morale, and 1 base encumberance. The Fire Breath attack it has is AoE3, and it has 6 total attacks via 3 bites, 2 claws, and a tail. You reach it at Conj-6, with a F4 mage. Also, Fear +5. It's generally a major research goal for those nations who can reliably summon them, just because it's base kit makes them especially good in raiding and clearing/routing large armies without magical support (even with magical support too, if kitted out).

Hope this helps.;)

Yeah, and you need to kill him THREE TIMES before he`s finally dead. Oh, and he has 10% chance of getting 1F for fire shield/phoenix pyre.

Big mistake, indeed. High-level conjuration is full of win. Low-level is situationally useful.

Legendary League March 24th, 2012 11:43 PM

Re: BSoD (Newbie, LA, CBM 1.92) [Started!]

Conjuration as a path is full of goodies (though naturally, you're going to want to balance that against the other magic paths).

Personally, low level conjuration is indispensible to me due to Power of the Spheres, Light of the Northern Star, and the various summon Xpowers (which is a great target for boosting your battle magics).

Okay guys.
I've got some trouble at work so there is a very big possibility of not answering your messages/not communicating nicely. I'm spending ~5-10 minutes per turn so it really shows.
Still there - but somewhat unresponsive and bot-like.

Do you need a delay, to get your turn in?

If you don't have enough time, I can raise the time/turn up to 48h.

And never mind.

Bone Daddy foresees some complications in his alternative universe and requests an 8-hour extension so he can devote the awesome powers of his mind to the destruction of the living.

I don't know. I lost a lot of mages in that battle

Legendary League March 29th, 2012 12:06 PM

Re: BSoD (Newbie, LA, CBM 1.92) [Started!]

Ehm. You lost 21 communion slaves (mostly because you still don't know how to keep a communion from dying quite yet :p, you're missing one key spell, also an inefficient/weak setup for Bogarus). That being said, you have 5-7 forts up (I lost count after five), and are 200% overtaxing a territory full of farmlands and plains (whilst I'm stuck with mostly mountains and wasteland). So even if you did lose 20-22 mages (really through no interference of myself), you can replace them quite quickly, and without any real strain on your economy. As for me, I just lost over half of my army right there, and really accomplished nothing (besides giving you targets to fatigue your mages to death :p ), and I've lost my Bane Lord counters, sadly, so I've got nothing to counter your flying thugs. You're playing an nation based on medieval Rus, there's no way I'm outattritioning that (:D). My research is insignificant compared to yours (you having hit at least 3 level 5 research marks, and a level 4 research mark at a minimum), and my gem income quite frankly sucks.

I'm not quitting mind. I'm going to make life difficult as hell for you and Pangaea (;)), but at this point I'm acknowledging there's no realistic way for me to win this game (or to turn around the inevitable fortunes of this war), short of multiple divine interventions. And even then that requires everyone else to hand me a blank check.

mattyburn7 March 29th, 2012 12:36 PM

Re: BSoD (Newbie, LA, CBM 1.92) [Started!]

You are correct. You can't out-attrition the Russians, but the leadership has to get better. My 2nd attempt at communion worked better than the first. I'll have to see if I can get the setup and the spells just a bit better.

On another note: Ermor has been quiet. I hear rumblings that Bone Daddy is spreading his death message further and further.
Cheers

It's not even that. I didn't even win that battle, and you're going to take another fortress, so it can in no way shape or form be even considered anything besides a decisive victory for you.

Tch, you're just using Ermor, C'tis, Pangaea, and likely Rl'yeh as distractions so people ignore your ascent to power via magic. Lots and lots of magic.

Look ah HoF. Almost exclusively athlanteans, all but one of them are still alive. I think that`s what happens when water mages spam Cleansing waters at Ermor. Or, maybe, death mages spam Wither Bones? Anyway, if in couple turns half of them are dead - THEN we are in trouble.

Bone Daddy is just a simple lich, trying to make his way in a cruel, hostile world where everyone wants to destroy him. Luckily, he's immortal, so dying isn't a big deal, but it still isn't very much fun -- especially when he got eaten by a fish many turns ago. That was a bad one. We never did find his right hand. You know how hard it is to summon a Dusk Elder with one hand? He ended up summoning a pair of camels and a penguin by accident until we took a hand of slave and sewed that one on instead. That worked pretty well, but it looks funny since the slave was a giant so now Bone Daddy has a massive left hand. Just today he nearly pulled his own head off when he scratched his chin.

Re: BSoD (Newbie, LA, CBM 1.92) [Started!]

While we're waiting, I've started posting my AAR at http://devnada.wordpress.com/bsod/

I've been keeping notes and screen-shots as I've been playing each turn, although I haven't published anything to avoid giving away too much of my position. However, we're late enough in in the game, that it would be of dubious tactical value.

I plan to update it periodically, although I'll probably stay about 30 turns behind -- possibly longer depending on time constraints.

mattyburn7 April 3rd, 2012 04:42 PM

Re: BSoD (Newbie, LA, CBM 1.92) [Started!]

I saw someone else post something similar earlier today and it finally went through. I've had occasional lags like this in the past (about 5 to 10 minutes until response). Also though have had an occasional where it just disappears. Or of course it could be down. I usually assume it disappears and just resend. Won't hurt.

Current Time on llamaserver is correct. Usually when it is down that clocks is also wrong.
