One CR 20 Pit Fiend stoned, one CR 20 Balor made to run, one CR 18 nightcrawler made to run. A few traps, but too low of CR to mean anything much; 3 and 4? No xp at these levels. Combat XP; let's see... Kaylin, Eldon, Elorin at 18th for 5400 xp each; Jason and Kibin at 19th for 4180 xp each. Plot.... well, you escaped the prison, so a bonus grand for everyone individually. One RP vote to Kibin; time to up the ante on that a might; 2,000 bonus xp to Kibin. Half Xp for Elorin, as his player wasn't there, but his character was rather useful. Kaylin:6400 Eldon: 6400 Elorin:3200 Jason: 5180 Kibin: 7180 Log hopefully attached. Who roleplayed best this session? |

This Saturday I'm helping build the new building at church. I'm trying to help with that every other Saturday, and it takes priority over gaming. If you like, I can set the server up if someone else wants to run a session (it's mostly automated) but I won't be in attendence.

Server closed. One CR 19 cleric finished off... but you got XP for him earlier, and he was in severe straights, so not now; one CR 20 spellcaster escaped, half XP; 1350 xp for Eldon and Kaylin at 18th, 1069 for Jason and Kibin at 19th. One CR 20 Balor forced off-plane (actually, I rolled the plane of water - with no clear and easy way to escape, he drowned); full XP - 2700 for Kaylin and Eldon at 18th, 2138 for Kibin and Jason at 19th. Two rather strong CR 16 critters currently in combat. Keeping half the party Stunned. At least Kibin recovered now, and Jason can spare the attention of keeping Kibin from hitting the ground for fatal damage.
The "trap" was caused and trigged by the spellcaster's parting actions, not triggered of it's own accord, and does not give seperate XP. Totals this session: Eldon: 4050 Kaylin: 4050 Jason: 3207 Kibin: 3207 (congrats on being the first to reach 20th) No votes for best roleplayer? Oh well. Who roleplayed best this session? Hey, I think you ripped me off on the permanent enchantments... To get it done by a spellcaster of 20th level, it would by my calculations only cost 25,950...

Let's see..... Caster Level * Spell Level * 10 = 5*XP spent; each +5 to each of your natural weapons (you have three) costs 3*10*20=600gp for the Greater Magic Fang applied to a single natural attack, and 5*10*20+5*1500=8,500 for the Permanency, so 9,100 per natural weapon; three natural weapons would be 27,300. Can I see your math? |

Third level spell at 20th caster level would be 20 x 30, for 600. Permancy is 11*50 base(11th caster level to make magic fang greater permanent), so 550 each. Add the 1500 XP Cost(5 GP per XP), and you have 8650 gp for each natural weapon.

By a strange quirk of the rules, Permanency can technically be seperately dispelled...... you sure you want it at caster level 11?

The Kensai prestige class has ten levels; would it be possible for me to extend it to a full twenty-level class? Perhaps by adding bonus feats or other abilities?
Here's a rough draft. I stuck in a blank every three levels and added a few abilities. |

Kensai is basically a fighter without bonus feats, just use the fighter as the base class?
And XP vote if it matters goes to Narf. Even though he can't use it much. Maybe it'll go to helping out the XP costs on his new character, or something. |

Because a fighter would need to be level 7 to be a Kensai - Requires Concentration 5, Diplomacy 5 and Ride 5.

And you'll start at around level 17 anyway. So?
Hmmm... Could get a couple of levels of paladin first. Having a couple ranks of paladin first would mean that concentration and diplomacy are class skills for the matter of max ranks in them. And you get a nice charisma bonus to saves, which is nice since Kensai have poor reflex and fortitude saves. You can also detect evil, and you get a nice +2 to fortitude saves to boot! |

Question... For epic levels, is highest BAB levels counted first for the 21st level BAB cutoff? Wondering if Kibin is ever going to have four attacks from BAB.

What's a good OpenRPG character sheet? Do composite longbows count as longbows for the purpose of Weapon Focus? |

Point buy; 32, I think.
Not sure. Pick one - there's a constructer that will do d20 and 3.0 D&D... but they are based on 3.0 stats, so a few things will be a might off without tinkering with the XML. Yep. |

Standard action - you can Manyshot and move 30 feet (or move 30 feet and Manyshot) and get X arrows at your target (up to five, and it's just the one attack roll, so all or nothing), while with Rapid Shot, you have to stop and take a the full attack action (but you've got better chances to hit).

Manyshot + shot on the run = you're kind of hard to pin down. And don't provoke an attack of opportunity from using a ranged weapon.
And yeah, it's 32 point buy. You start at the XP level of the lowest character, which would be Kaylin... and that's near 17th level, I think. |

So lowest surviving -1, or current -1, whichever's higher. And XP applies in the best possible order in this instance - which means it goes to the new character after death penalties. |

Current surviving -1 would be level 19. If the XP total of highest surviving party member, it would be 191102, minus that by 19,000. And that's 172,101 thousand... plus 2,000 for XP. And ouch, I had a tooth surgically extrated, and that hurt.

That's current LOWEST surviving, not current highest - which would be 18th-1, not 20th -1.

Sorry for the late notice, but my keyboard was out of commission last night. I'm really sorry for missing so many sessions recently, it's been primarily due to fatigue from my recently diagnosed Ulcerative Colitis. I'm starting to recover now, but I'm afraid I'll have to miss another session today, this time because of a project for class.

Jack, what do you think of supplimental skill points for 'useless' skills? Character-filling out ones, like 'woodcarving' or 'knowledge:horse breeding'?

Hmm.....
Well, if they're guarenteed to never impact the game (e.g., you'll never actually roll them), they don't matter; just put it into the character background, it'll be fine. That said, some oddball skills do impact the game on occasion - Craft is used in making golems (armorsmithing, masonry, et cetera), and in making temporary armor with the Ironwood spell (woodworking), as well as use of the Fabricate spell. Not that any of those are liable to come up much. Also, do note that five ranks will put you above basically every Expert-1 that doesn't take Skill Focus; and almost anyone can spare five ranks into something at this level. |

Er, how? At this level, it seems even more important to me to max out as many skill ranks as possible.
How about some free skill points, for a few oddball skills that aren't raised above 3/4? |
