Re: An unbelievable load of #@%$
I rather have 50 air queens than 50 doom horrors.
Warlords Battlecry 2 I dunno. It upset me that lvl 50 was the chr limit...it should of been like 99 or 100. I felt ripped off because the your hero would of been more varied at a higher level bec the first 50 levels werent enough to make him that much different than everyone else but lvl 99 would of made it perfect. |
I don't think Doom Horrors are total rubbish. They fly in storms remember and do damage to everything (unlike Springhawks and Storm Demons).
Hah, I'd rather have 50 slingers than 50 doom horrors http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif Seriously I have only ever summoned one Doom Horror and that was just to see what they were like, I thought they were grouse. In regards to WBC 2. The mere fact that there was a hero that you kept over the course of battles is the thing that made it great, and unless you played experience maps it was a long haul to get to level 50. Warcraft 3 heroes were mere shadows of the WBC heroes and they could only reach 10th level. Also by level 25 to 30 you were a force to be reckoned with that could solo multiple AI. How many Air Queens have you got Aku? |
Re: Game Progress
Just a note on progress. I have been offline for a while and just now partially viewed the latest turn. I saw immediately that I forgot to remove my wimpy army from the seige of the C'tis castle like I had planned to do. So it died. Dumb, dumb, very dumb indeed. Trying to make moves while on vacation is a very rough thing. I will be sort of glad to be getting back home late tonight, though this was a very enjoyable vacation for me and my daughter.
I also had no idea how my immortal Vampire Lord died, not having the opportunity to view any battles. I suppose it was mind controlled, according to the above Posts. Oh well, not having ever played R'lyeh before, I am totally clueless on what that watery race can do. As for the seige of the Marignon castle, I was perplexed too until I realized that I had mostly mindless troops on the seige. They seem to take forever to break down the walls. So I vectored in some real troops (I think I did anyway) to help. Will see how it works. The conquering of former Marignon territory continues unabated now, slowly beating down his PD and taking them one-by-one. But it is so very, very painstaking indeed. I was also quite surprised when Vanheim showed up with yet another army. I simply can't see why he still is sacking his troops across the sea like that. Maybe he is still mad at me for recently eliminating him in another game in which we were both participating. In fact, I am very surprised that C'tis, R'lyeh, and Arco have not simply carved up Vanheim's meager territory since he does not have much army left now with which to defend. As for Aku's comment above, I have the totally opposite opinion from him. I greatly do not wish for a long game, as Dominions simply ceases to be fun when it becomes so tediuos to make each move. I spend over an hour per move in this game now and still do not even come close to doing everything that ought to be done. I have no idea which commanders have which artifacts anymore. Also, there are way too many cheap strats and far too many things that are totally obsolete by about move 90 or so. Most battles are completely one-sided, based on whatever cheap strategy happened to work. Like the killing of the nearly 200 C'tis worms on my part a few turns ago. Utterly absurb. I am in move 120 in another game of mine now, and it is complete rubbish. Just about the only strategy that works that late in Dominions is Clam hoarding, Arcane Nexus, and total gem income. Kind of stupid, in my opinion, as the game becomes horribly unbalanced towards the end. Even though I am first on nearly every graph in that game, I am kind of hoping to be overrun quickly to put me out of my misery. So I declared war on the near-unbeatable Pythium player despite the Nexus he put up with 999 pearls. We will see how it turns out. Oh well, enough whining, I suppose. When I get home tonight, maybe I will change my opinion when doing my turns on my computer at home over my nice, high-speed internet! That will be a pleasant change indeed... |

Perhaps I am a fool for honoring alliances, and maybe it will cost me in the end, but I can not do otherwise. Besides, Panther, I like fighting you. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Quote:
