Also, when you are older, there is less competition because women live longer than men
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Not only that, but there is the age differential in most relationships : women in their 20s will pair up with men in their 20s, 30s and so on, which leaves a surplus of women over 30. It's been stated to be 7 single women over 30 for every single man over 30. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif

For a single thrity something guy knowing that there are 7 over 30 women for every over 30 man doesn't really help when you consider a great portion of those over 30 women also happen to be over 50. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

No offense to over 50 women at all, but as you said yourself your typical 30-something is looking for a 30-something woman. And the ratio of available 30-something women to single 30-something men I am sure is much lower then 7 to 1.

Of course if the man can stay healthy and single and live past his 50's then his chances will go WAY up. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

7 single women over 30 for every single man over 30? It doesn't seem to be that way, at least where I live... Everywhere I go, there seems to be at least twice as many men as there are women. At school, there was a ratio of about 50 men to 1 woman. At the place where I work, there's about 10 men to 1 woman. Here, in the SE4 forums, it's also mostly men.

How could there be enough women in their 20's to match up with so many men (in their 20's, 30's and so on)? If there is such a surplus of women over 30, then there must be a big lack of women for some other age group...

Kamog, go to the mall and you will see a much higher ratio of women to men. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

It all depends on where you look. If you are talking college in general it's about even I believe. But if you are in an engineering or tech school you are going to be with mostly men. Go to a teaching or nursing college and you are gonna be outnumbered by women.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Exactly, there's a lot of competition for women under 30, therefore not enough of them. Also, the times are different now. You see a woman with a small child and assume she's in a relationship, right ? Nowadays it's more likely she isn't.

Geo : I know a guy who used to be a mechanic. He'd sit and look at the women going to the hairdresser across the street from his workshop. One day he sold his shop and became a hairdresser. His complaints about women these days are something along the lines of 'they're too jealous of each other'. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
