Re: Crunch!
And do you have any idea how hard it is to swing a good sized sledgehammer effectively with just one hand?
|
Sledgehammer
Sledgehammers are hard to use. One time, we were having a camp fire and we had some big pieces of wood that we wanted to burn, but no axe to chop it into smaller pieces. For some reason, we did have a sledgehammer, so we used it to break up the wood. The guys kept missing the wood and someone accidentally hit the sledgehammer on the ground and the head broke off.

Re: ?eseehc eht demov ohW :eR
Better to hit the ground and have the sledgehammer's head fall off than for it to hit a bystander and have his head fall off, I suppose. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: ?eseehc eht demov ohW :eR
Have you ever had bubble tea? If I were to start a business, I would consider opening a bubble tea shop because it seems like those drinks are high-priced in relation to the ingredients, and it must therefore be quite profitable. There's different flavors of bubble tea, each with a different fruit flavor or whatever, and they put these pearls in there and charge $5 or $6 for a cup. I can buy an inexpensive lunch for that kind of price. It's sort of a social thing: you would never go to a bubble tea place alone, but you go because your friends go, and you all end up buying the expensive drinks. They give you a big wide straw for sucking the pearls that are at the bottom of the tea.

Re: ?eseehc eht demov ohW :eR
What is bubble tea?
|
Re: ?eseehc eht demov ohW :eR
From the sounds of it, it's tea you make not with a teabag but with small pearls of tea-and-flavour, which you can suck up through a straw afterwards. Just guessing though, never heard of it either.

GST is reduced to 6%, yay! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Bubbles!
GST was supposed to be for the duration of the first gulf war.

Re: Bubbles!
Bump. Because we still haven't reached 200 pages yet. We should.
Then we should continue all the way to 1,000 pages, to see if there's a comma in the page number. |
Race to Insanity
OK, we need more insanity happening. ... I feel so sleepy lately. Haven't been sleeping enough since the SEV demo came out...
|
Re: Race to Insanity
I hope there isn't a Range Check error at 1,000 pages.
|
Re: Race to Insanity
That would be awesome if there was. Want to try? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
|
Re: Race to Insanity
We're getting there slowly people. More arbitrary discussions are needed.

Re: Race to Insanity
I think Space Empires XXIV should have a neuronic-controlled holographic interface.
|
Re: .huD .eseehc eip niatnoc seip eseehC
I think that Space Empires XXIV should put you in control of a real planet with real people, genetically engineered to look and act like another race. No more Play By Web, Play By Galaxy! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Creating a new game in SE:XXIV should spawn a completely new parallel universe for you to conquer.

Exactly. You know exactly what I want. Now bring on the Planetary Napalm Bombs! We're going to invade the Vietnorak! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Re: .huD .eseehc eip niatnoc seip eseehC
Let's include that in our list of suggestions to Aaron. Maybe he can put that feature in the first patch for SEV. Hopefully it won't be too much of a programming change for him.

Gas Stations in 2008
|
Re: aes eht ees nac hcrop tnorf ym morF :eR
What about XXV? Or even... XXX.
|
Re: Gas Stations in 2008
When the price of gas gets to $21.05, I'll get rid of the car and just walk or ride a bike everywhere. Or get an all-electric car.
|
Re: Gas Stations in 2008
Oh, if you're going electric, make sure to use capacitors rather than batteries. Higher weight, lower effeciency, lower capacity, but almost no maintenence at all.... ever.
Oh, and while you're at it, install a universal constructor (They're Working On It) in the back. Wouldn't it be just perfect to have a van that could make full-sized copies of itself? |
Re: Gas Stations in 2008
That constructor is neat. One day we'll have Star Trek replicators and we'll never have to go grocery shopping. You just instantly materialize your dinner.
|
Re: Gas Stations in 2008
...Replicators makes me think of multiplying bugs now.
But the Star Trek replicators would be neat. |
Re: Math Bugs!
Multiplying bugs? Do they do division as well? Perchance they can manage the dreaded matrix reduction?
|
Re: Math Bugs!
Matrix reduction? I've got a shrink ray for that. Just need to kidnap Matrix.

Linear algebra wasn't too bad. It's the partial differential equations that was hard! We need some bugs to solve those.

Re: .huD .eseehc eip niatnoc seip eseehC
Someone should put some von neumann processing units on some distant planet.
|
Re: .huD .eseehc eip niatnoc seip eseehC
Sure, so they can come back and KILL US ALL!!!!
|
Re: .huD .eseehc eip niatnoc seip eseehC
No, for extremely cheap processing power.
|
Re: .huD .eseehc eip niatnoc seip eseehC
Let's put the von neumann units on all the "dwarf planets" like Pluto.
|
Re: .huD .eseehc eip niatnoc seip eseehC
Do not ask which creature screams in the night,
Do not ask who waits for you in the shadow, It is my voice you hear in the night, and it is my body that lurks in the shadow, for I am Agent Zero, and you are the puppet, that dances to my tune.. Discuss. |

Re: .huD .eseehc eip niatnoc seip eseehC
Today, October 6th, is Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival. It's an Asian holiday and today at work, a Chinese co-worker brought moon cake for us. Moon cake is an expensive, round and dense pastry-type of of cake and it's filled with a thick filling.
|
Re: .huD .eseehc eip niatnoc seip eseehC
Mmm. Cake. Don't suppose you could e-mail us some?

Interestingly enough, if you look closely enough you can see that the balls are created at one place, and destroyed at another.
