Continuity to TOS...well to be honest, it's impossible. Does anyone else remember TOS episode where the Enterprise was hijacked by aliens, and taken towards another galaxy?? And the ship ended up doing like, warp 14 or 16 or something? Now, ever since TOS, there's been the arbitrary limit of warp 9.99 for a top speed (at least, up until Voyager, which of course had an episode where they broke that barrier, and travelled warp 10...but got some very odd side effects http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif ) So the continuity has been shot ever since TNG began.

This had to do with the Warp Scales that Baron mentioned. Remember the TOS episode where the travler took the Enterprise D to speeds beyond their ability to measure? Warp barrier is just an arbatrary thing. Its like saying cars will never be able to go faster than 100 mph, then 200 mph, and so on. Hey what is the new land speed record now? Isn't it like 320 mph or something?

Nope. Someone built a rocket car that broke the sound barrier a few years back, and he didn't die. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

As far as continuity issues, heck, they had them during the TOS, let alone with the other series. For those who didn't know, Kirk's middle initial was originally R. Then a couple of episodes later, it became T for Tiberius, and that's what he's been known as since. I guess it sound better than James R. Kirk.

But as far as Enterprise (from the episodes I've seen), there still isn't much to show what will happen in 100 years. They introduced the new style Klingon, still with no explanation as to who or what the original Klingons were. But they've introduced the Andorians, which became one of the founding races of the Federation. They mentioned the Tellarites, but I still haven't seen one yet. And Earth's first contact with the Romulans went differently than I thought it would. It would be nice if they showed a young Sarek, Spock's dad. I'll keep trying to watch it, but I don't expect too much in the way of continuity with TOS.

Hadn't heard anything about Generations coming out, but I'll definitely grab a copy when it does. I want so much to get that TOS dvd set. Of all of the dvd Trek sets out there, this is the one I'm definitely getting. I was at Suncoast Motion Picture today, and they have Season 2 on their list coming out sometime in November. Also, since the topic is supposed to be about Enterprise, Quantum Leap season 2 will be out on December 14, for you Bakula fans, of which I'm one. Does anyone know when the new season of Enterprise starts? Since it's on a Friday night now, I'll probably miss it. And lately, I'm not home in time on Saturday nights for the repeat. Hopefully, though, I can catch more episodes this time around than Last season.

Anyone noticed how in Star Trek they sometimes employ the happy reset button, which usually means some type of time travel arc that make everything a happy ending in the end? (Not always the case, DS9 did a good job of not always having happy endings).

In terms of Enterprise, I enjoyed it for what it was until the Temporal Cold War started....bleh.

I also currently enjoy reruns of Voyager, although I think Janeway was a bit to know it all.
