I think if it happens that two 2h files are uploaded from different IPs using the same CDkey, it will barf. Do you have a dynamic IP which changed, or move to a different computer between uploading a botted R'lyeh and pulling your Arco .trn?

That shouldn't happen. Violation should only happen if the same key is used on two different machines (or different installs on the same machine, linux and windows for example). The AI itself don't use the keys.

Do you still have the files?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Which files? The server is mosehansen's (game is Faerun Folly). I still have my .trn file in which the CD key violation is declared, but the .2h file contains my orders for the next turn.

EDIT: Note that Arco wasn't AI for this turn. This was the turn in which I clicked the "Become AI" button.

EDIT: I've just had a thought. I am in the habit of disconnecting if I'm not going to use the net for a while. I can't be sure I didn't disconnect between "playing" Arco and playing my own turn, possibly getting a different IP.

Re: MP Game - Faerun Folly

I think I've encountered something similar to this. In MP one of the players lost his internet connection and gave me his password to set him AI. I played my nation's turn and set him computer. At the hosting time, our host told it had någoted until he had deleted the AIed nation's file. And I'm sure this was done with same IP.

So any chance there'd be a problem when setting a nation to computer play?

It looks as though some folks may be struggling to meet the 24-hour deadline, so if at least 3 people post that they want it, I'll move it to 48-hour quickhost.

I'd prefer 24H QH, however it doesn't matter much.
My Marignon will be soon crushed by the combined forces of Ermor and Pangea CW ...
They stripped from my hand the Pythium capitol earning so on a very good gem income.

Well, I had a stale turn so I guess I vote for 48 hours. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

MP Game - Faerun Folly

I've just restarted the game, because it had started to hang on the "Waiting for game info" box. Restarting seems to have cleared the problem, but Ermor (Catquiet) and Pangaea (djtool) will have to upload their orders again (restarting clears any orders received for the current turn).

The game has been restarted with a new turnaround of 48 hours with quickhost. All orders for the current turn uploaded before the restart will have been lost, so please check your turn.
