1) I think Cohen took abysia since he thinks abysia is one of the most powerful nations around ( they have good blood and decent troops -- a very powerful combination ).

2) The starting position on this variant of the map is not nearly as painful as on the full faerun map. In this map he has decent provinces around him. His nearest neighbor seem to be T'ien Ch'i, widely considered one of the less powerful nations. Jotunheim is also somewhat close. But not really that close.

uh, I already called Caelum, Huzurdaddi, very sorry.

It looks like we might get this game started quickly, so I'll drop my work this evening and put together a new pretender (what was I thinking, getting work done on a saturday night!)

Huzurdaddi Lex has already claimed vanheim some hours before so you have to chose another nation because it is first come first serve sorry .
hopefully you find another nation you would like to play .
i have a current players/nations list in my 4th or 5th post on page 1 .


1. almost every player has a nation he likes especially . almost everybody though thinks another nation is too strong .

as it is most nations are quite viable if they fit your playstyle i think .
the only nation which seems really handicapped is Atlantis and a few themes like Arco GE , Tien chi base / Bk etc. seem underpowered .

2. you are right i thought starting is almost the same in small faerun and old large faerun . in old faerun the abysian starting location was really bad . but in small faerun abysia starts in a totally different starting location .



but abysia is hard to play because you can do so many things quite good but you have to decide what you do .
abysia is one of the living nations which has really extreme gold shortage through large periods of the game .
abysia is magically not as flexible as mictlan .

depending on whom you have to fight is also important .
if abysia has to fight an airnation is extremely painful for them i think .

finally your blood hunters are hard to protect too or force you to spend lots of money in castling .

abysia is surely one of the stronger nations but there are lots of other fearful nations too like vanheim , caelum or lategame a magically extremely flexible nation like arco / pythium etc. .
lategame abysia is still good but not the best choice i think .

In order for Lex to be able to upload Caelum two things need to happen:

1) Huzurdaddi needs to set his current Caelum position to anonymous
2) You must kick off all anonymous players.

Too bad Caelum is already taken. I really wanted to try them out.

I guess I'll go for Pythium. I've played them before in multiplayer and I would rather go for something different, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

However I play Abysya not because I think it's powewerful (IMO it's very weak compared to every air nation - caelum, vanheim, pythium), but because I like the demon taste and (ipothetically) good army (that lacks in Mictlan).
