Im not angry, and I wasn't going to bother being diplomatic about it. I would have been playing the whole game at a disadvantage, and living on borrowed time. It was my first time playing C'tis, and I didn't realize 150 infantry could be slaughtered to the man, by 7 calvery and some slingers. That, plus random events, put me about at first turn resources, army etc, on the 10th turn.

No hard feelings.

I will crush you.

OK, so Niefelheim is attempting to be Coy. Well, we aren't buying it. Their troops march up and down the border as some sort of cosmic game of whack-a-mole, but we will find them in the field and destroy them, of that we are certain.

They say there are three routes into Niefelheim. This is not true.

You have angered Pax,
Prepare for the inevitable.

So we decided to invade Niefelheim all over the place, with marching armies hither and yon. The Jotun obediently divided their forces into bite sized pieces which we fed to hydras. It was a great day to be alive.

And in Sauromatia.

You have received the word of Pax,
Prepare for the Inevitable.

Yep looks like I am going the way of C'tis.

Have you all seen the VP chart and how close Sauromatia is to winning?

Anyway, he is playing a gather gigantic horde strategy, best/cheapest troops he can recruit with 3 hydras per army. He is spamming anything cheap out, vinemen, undead, casting raise dead/skeletons on the battlefield. Currently I am being assaulted by 4 armies each about 120 strong. SO HIS OTHER BORDERS ARE COMPLETELY OPEN TO ATTACK, probably only PD + chaff, so if anyone as got any sense I would pile right in to Sauromatia ASAP.

He is going for a rush strategy...in this case a rush to an early victory...not that I am overly bothered anymore. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

I no matter what, am pretty much done for, will fight and try to hold out as long as possible...

The way of C'tis is more soothing than it sounds.

And then there was 4...

Abysia has conquered Gol Ryepe (89), the location of Nielfelheim's second fortress and he has taken the province of Florien (10), which contains a banefire forge.

Elsewhere, Sauromatia sieges Nielfelheim (111) itself, it too will soon fall. Nielfelheim's armies have been beaten and scattered to the four winds by the combined might of Abysia/Sauromatia, the sons of winter are no more...

Game over for me people, it was rather enjoyable being ripped apart in a perverse way, very different from my other 6 MP games that I am in!

Thanks for the game everyone and thanks to Dr Praetorious for being a excellent host.

Good luck everyone...

Re: And then there was 4...

Even as Abysia has stolen our Black Tower, we have our first genuinely good news to report in a while.

Niefelheim's advance into our lands has been turned back completely. We bring fire and death to their capitol in repayment for their ill-timed invasion. Further, Mictlan has for the first time been repulsed from our castle, their Jaguar Warriors and Pegasi heaped in bloody piles so that their skin might be eaten properly. Now we shall have the power of Mictlan, and even now we are preparing a devastating counterattack.

Can we prevail against three ravenous empires throwing their sacred troops against our poisoned arrows? Probably not, but with Niefelheim falling soon we may yet be able to pull out a victory.

You have heard the will of Pax,
Prepare for the Inevitable.

"Tell me if you've heard this one." rumbles Knife Bright Insight, the iron God of the Abyssians.
Malphas wants to scream. Yes I've heard this one I'm a demon from the pits of hell! I've heard them all! Instead he says, "go on, Lord."
"Three women, a blonde, a brunette and a red-head, are sitting outside the wise woman's hut since, you know, they're... whascalled... Pregnant?"
Malphas suppresses a wince. "Yes, oh Lord of the World."
"Anyway, then, the blonde one says, 'I'm going to have puppies!' Wait, did I leave a bit out?"
The assembled children of Rhuax, the council of war, laugh obligingly. Malphas manages to strangle out a chuckle. "Hysterical as ever, great one."
When the children of Rhuax decided to smelt themselves a new God, a great one-eyed thing of pure steel, they determined that the future ruler of the whole world should have a sense of humor.
"So, are we invading Sauromatia yet?"
Malphas sighs. "No, oh great one. The armies of Ulm have invaded us from the east. We're withdrawing until that invasion is repulsed."
"Oh." says the iron titan, disappointed. "How many Ulmites does it take to hammer a peg into a wall?"
"Three divisions of about 350 warriors each, plus an approximately equal number of reserves." Malphas replies.
The Great God pauses. "I don't get it."
"You'll get to crush over two thousand warriorss with your might and power, Lord."
He perks up considerably. "Oh, that sounds like fun."
"Yes, it will be *wondrous*," says Malphas, practically drooling over the prospect of the coming carnage. "Make another ring while I go and talk things over with the Prophet, hmm?"
The cyclops nods agreeably and turns back to his forge, where he hammers rings of earth and life power engraved, of course, with jokes.
"You wish to speak to me of the blood of innocents, in which our pure and noble God will be made to bathe?" asks the Prophet.
Malphas snorts. "If you did not need the power of blood to triumph, you would have forbid me to spread my teachings, oh Annointed One."
The prophet sneers. "Perhaps. But to corrupt my already degenerate cousins is one thing - our God, whom we have raised to restore our Glory? This is quite another."
"The power of blood will return you to your full majesty, my friend. And winged, besides."
The prophet snorts. "This may also come to pass. But I will that you stay away from the Great One."
Malphas smiles. "We will discuss it again after the coming battle?"
The prophet nods. "Yes. Our situation will be greatly clarified."
Malphas nods. "As you command, so shall it be, lord."
