Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
Alright everyone, sorry for the delay. The house's other computer is down, and everyone needed to use this one. All pretenders have been recieved, however, and the game's just started up. The IP address is 10.156.24.101, and the port is 1113. Here's hoping this works, and good luck once again.
It says it's waiting for participants, so sign on up. I'm still new at this. EDIT: Fixed the port number. |
Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
No luck for me, I couldn't connect.
I have to go to bed I'm afraid (it's late in the UK), so won't be around to help with testing for a while. Hope you get it working. |
Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
Uh, I'm having some brief issues. I first tried just setting up a network, then realized I should start a game first. Then I screwed up three times (yes, I know) forgetting to put the 'host' game in windowed mode. Yeah, I'm dumb. It should work now if you give me a minute or two.
Edit. I also typed one too many 1s in my previous post. It's, in reality, 1113. I thought I would be a bit more competent than this... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |

I am not having any luck connecting
6.06 pm PST command line ping to that IP also failed |
Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
Dammit! I'm sure the firewall's down...
Try this IP address. Dominions 3 and whatismyip.com can't agree on what it is... 72.138.191.35 |
Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
Nope, could not connect...it timed out.

Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
Did you try the other IP?
|
Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
I just tried 72.138.191.35 and port 1113. Still timed out.

Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
Bah... I can't think of what else it might be. I guess that's game over. If anything comes up, I'll bump this. Thanks for participating, everyone, and sorry I couldn't follow through.

Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
Oh no, I was really looking forward to this one! Surely we can overcome technical issues? If there's a computer and an internet connection it must be doable.
Have you checked port forwarding on your router? By default routers block almost all ports. This is a separate thing from firewalls, so the signal never gets to your computer even if your firewall is off. If your router is anything like my old one, you have to go to 192.168.0.1 in internet explorer to access it's setup page, then look for the "port forwarding" option. Sorry if you already know all this. |
