well if we don't get it going tomorrow, there's no guarantees I can make it next sunday; but I can try.

Re: semi blitz

it doesn't feel like we'll start sunday. the forums being down means we havn't been able to pick up any new players or even make plans for the ones that are here.

given the up-in-the-airness of this game right now, I'd prefer not to start tomorrow. The lack of planning makes starting difficult, and I don't want to sit around on my day off waiting for a game that might not materialize.

not to hate on the forums, but god damn they chose a bad time.

I can look at getting next sunday off, and we can plan for then. I could perhaps be available tomorrow, but only if the game materializes early. like I said, not gonna wait around to see if a game we havn't had the weekend to plan for takes off at all.

Well, they chose the time when they thought the most players would be offline to update the forums (US Independance Day). I actually commend them for that. They worked through their holiday to do work on the forums.

If you guys want to do this next weekend, I can probably be available either Saturday or Sunday nights. No need for afternoon time. I am totally unavailable during the work week though.

Re: semi blitz

great news, folks. i'm off again this sunday. i'm still in for Shinuyama then. lets try and get this thing going for next week.

maybe let's take inventory of who we have right now, what settings we are going to use, and start an "official" game thread.

if we are using llamaserver, I'd suggest game name "Rhea", after the fastest (I believe) S. American land animal; since this game is supposed to be a fast start style.

Re: semi blitz

this thread and the idear of the semi- blitz seems to have gone the way of the dodo. no one's posted or tried to continue organizing.

funny thing, this isn't the first such thread to try and organize this type of game, and they all fail in the end.

I'm still up for it, but am overall ambiguous. I just got a research assistant position and am eager to do well and garner more work from this person. I could still have time for this game, but won't cry over it if no one else is willing to jump in. Given my apathy, I'm not willing to take point on organizing though. But if someone else wants to, I'll be a player.

i gave up when the idea of doing it in the evening got bounced. as much as i enjoy the game, i doubt i will spend prime blocks of weekend afternoon time on it.

Re: semi blitz

yah good point.

well, with my new job, i work for a person I never see who sends me data with crude instructions of what they want done to it. I then attempt to decode their instructions into mathematically doable statistical analysis and fit their data to models. I send them the models and results back by email. I also consult at a stat lab at the university, so have 24/7 access to the software and equipment. I can do the work anytime, and with VPN client technology, can sometimes do it anywhere too.

so basically I was able to quit my old stupid job waiting tables. I have a completely flexible schedule. But now with the options of being able to spend weekday afternoons doing things other than waiting on *******s, maybe I will want to go outside... I could even have a social life at a time block other than midnight to four A.M.

Alright, (rolling up sleeves) I will find out how to set up a game saturday, and have one ready by sunday. (I hope) Wish me luck. The map will be "world of warhammer" and since the locations are fixed for each race there will a fixed choice on races. I want everything to be fair and balanced. Any help would really rock because my skills with a computer really suck. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Bwaha
