my start was fine and I do agree that all a restart would result in is shuffling who gets the bad starting spots and not actually change anything.

My start is OK but if we do have a restart, we need someone to distribute the starting locations into starting zones.

You could always use DireAussie's starting locations script, which guarantees a minimum number of neighbouring provinces in each starting spot:

Please no restart. Although my positions stinks, I will overcome.
We had 3 restarts in another game. The first 2 starts I had stellar starting position as Yomi. But so many people cried that he restarted it twice. Well, of course on the third go around my position was bad with 2 neighbors 3 spaces away. I do not want to do that to anyone else in this game. Keep it the way it is please.

I know the game you talked about. However, the problem you encountered in Madwar was due to a bug in Llamaserver's program. The balanced starting position (or for that matter, the slightly modified map) was not actually used though it showed otherwise in the webpage.

Anyway, I am OK with either options.

Lets rock and roll, I imagine that the majority of us have 3 or less neighbors to their home province (and I have not heard anyone say they have the dreaded 1 neighbor) ...It's just part of playing a map that does not have predetermined starts or nostart provinces.
