well, the indy 9 was not the problem, it was the hard research. also while this guide is written for CBM, it refers to CBM 1.4 or 1.5, not the current 1 which finally removed gem gens, and changed a few other things. so yeah, the guide itself is pretty outdated on itself, but it was specifically made for regular research so the Great Enchantress can get you those very crucial research goals early enough for the expansion to really work... not sure if taking the Great Sage instead of the Great Enchantress would have been enough of a research boost to make it work on hard research, probably not, but well, different settings requires adjustments... trying it as is was pretty much knocking your head against a brick wall, which never ends up well ;)

I agree with what he said. The hard ressearch is the killer here. The key to this guide working is getting out by turn 3, 4, or 5 and getting multiple parties out when you do. I have not played this in MP, only in duels and it works well there. In MP, I'm not sure how well it would work.
The other item is that you have to make sure you have plenty of money. You have to make sure you have order. You also need to make sure you have mass when the game moves on. I've lost with this strategy because I didn't have the troops for the big battles. |

Can't speak to any nerfing thats gone on since I wrote the guide, but I deployed it to good effect in MP. Got triple teamed and eliminated...but the strategy was working beautifully (which is why I got dogpiled. :/).

Most strategy guides don't work verbatim when you play on VH research and Indy 9. Like me.
