This game really highlights to me why having a good expansion plan is so critical. Sitting at 8 provinces on turn 13. Not good, Marigon has 8 provinces, Mictlan has 21. Mictlan starts with almost a 3 to 1 advantage. With a map setting like this (there are still 70 neutrals left for the taking!) not having at least 15 provinces by turn 12 is like putting a big fat target on the back of your nation.

I agree, long term planning is good, but doesn't help if you don't survive till then. Then again sometimes you get really pwned by just being in a bad starting position, just the way it goes sometimes.

The only thing that hacks me off, is by turn 8 or so, I had run into three guys that had me boxed in. I look to the other areas of the map, and there are plenty of neutrals out there next to other players.

I hear ya warhammer. Its one of the things I hate about random starts; the other being random sites that destroy the game. Con bonus anyone = ).

Granted I extended it by 36 hours.

It now looks like Thursday is the due date. Let me know if I need to extend further.

lol, 96 sure is a popular province, Ulm fought 3 battles there this turn and though valiant, their troops ultimately left the final battle in defeat after having been worn down by 2 other armies

And I have an interesting observation for all of you. Mictlan still advances upon Marigon despite the slash and burn raids perpetrated on him by my small warden forces. He ignores these raids because he wishes to beat his chest and point and scream about how much land Man has taken while continuing his advance upon Marigon.

Don't let Mictlin fool you in to thinking that man is the bigger threat. No one else was willing to step up to help tiny Marigon as Mictlin moved his giant army to gobble them up.
