Turn 68 is done.

Sorry for hosting late. I thought I had done it a few days ago.

Deadline is Sunday.

My global Glabal Enchantments are gone

Previous turn i ordered the casting of "Ghost ship armada". This turn I received message it was successful. I received also a message whit "Your global enchantment has been dispelled". I had "Gift of health" already a few turns up. And now I don’t see "Ghost ship armada" or "Gift of health" in global enchantments.

Does anybody know how it comes both my global enchantments are dispelled? Is it possible a global enchantment gets disspelled the same turn it is up?

Meglobob June 9th, 2007 10:58 AM

Re: My global Glabal Enchantments are gone

Migaaresno I have no experience of Ghost ship Armada but the spell description says, "The famous Admiral Togrin and his armada will attack enemy coastal provinces at random, until defeated", did you get a battle report and did the admiral lose?

If the admiral loses, I guess the global may automatically fail. But thats just a guess...

I wonder who dispelled your gift of health? It wasn't me...but whoever did it thanks... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Uhm.. i see now. The armada was defeated in its first hunt. How unlucky...

Re: Turn 69

It seems I'll be unable to play my turns at least until Friday, possibly until Monday. But, my situation has long been rather irrelevant, so AIing me won't be a great loss. Especially if C'tis stormed this turn: he should have finally finished my wyrm off thus ending my reign of terror. So, thanks for the game, and feel free to stick me to AI control, Pasha.

Good game Jurri, you've played, well, very Jurri like, holding on tenaciously with your accursed wyrm. A pity your wyrm couldn't deal some more damage to Ctis army though http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Three cheers for C'tis joining the war against global tyranny.

Re: Turn 69

Hehe, the wyrm did eat two significant armies from C'tis, did it not?

I was essentially hanging on by my nails for like 50 turns, after Ygorl crushified me with his sacred giants. Those armies from C'tis were really impressive (although I would script that devourer of souls more aggressively: you can't resist the effect by any means, and it seems that the secondary effects of weapons will hit the target regardless of whether the actual attack hits or not. Thus, a script of flight, attack large monsters should mean a quick death to such monsters as the wyrm), and I'm sure Wraith will have his hands full trying to win over the combined might of y'all. Still, he's got a lot of experience of the late game, and the scenario's strongest position, so I'd still bet on him.

Indeed, and the Soul Slay that took out my Tartarian in the last battle was...painful.

I think I brought too many normal troops to the first couple of battles--they broke and caused everyone to rout before my thugs had a chance to get to the Wyrm. Not only that, the troops wound up getting in the way of the thugs, who wound up milling around the gate as the scrubs poured through to die...

Fellow Players:

I think it is clear now that Caelum has this one wrapped up. Shall we concede the game to him? He has played excellently.

Caelum Wins?

Hi Fellow Players:

So far no player has said that he objects to Caelum being declared the winner.

So far, Oceania and Sauro are willing to concede.

C'Tis stated that he is just beginning to fight.

Helheim and Ulm have not responded.

I think we need a few more players to state whether they object or agree with declaring Caelum the winner. Otherwise, we will keep playing.

What say you, other players?

Well this should be very soon, since Caelum is sieging Sauromatias capital and I don't think anyone can stop him taking it.

Having said that, I want to play at least 1 more turn so I can cast wish in MP for the 1st time. Then Caelum can win. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I would love to know why my pretender cast Astral Shield rather than Arcane Domination?

But well done Wraithlord, good victory.

Thanks to Pasha for being a great host.

I really enjoyed this game, myself and Helheim had dozens of really good battles.

I have found this game to be very exciting due to a combination of factors, the beautiful scenario, our great host Pasha (every game that he hosts is a pleasure to play), and you players - I think that in this game have participated some of the highest caliber DOM players, and surely players that I deeply respect.
Its been a pleasure to participate, Thank you all! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Thanks Ygorl, from now on I'll look forward to seeing you in every game with Jurri, since I learned of your kryptonite effect on him http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Don't forget that Ygorl is right next to Jurri's capital in the BARK game. Unfortunately, Jurri is EVERYWHERE due to the water placement on the map. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Hey Pasha, thanks for the game. Never thought I would be able to stay in until the very end, but strangely Helmheim never decided to give me the killing blow.

I agree. You all probably have no idea of the amount of gems I threw into fighting Helheim. Besides my normal, high gem income, I was fever fetish spamming (got upto +30 fire gems/turn) and clamming, approaching +50 astral gems/turn.

I am truly amazed. Was hellheim that powerful that it took this kind of economy such as you had plus all the might of Ulm to contain it???

What I saw from hellheim suggested poor research, hence vulnerability to high level spells.

Yes, Helheim was that powerful.

I did not find him that vulnerable to high level spells. You only got 2-3 rounds before you were overwhealmed at best anyway. Remember thou this was before Helheim was nerfed.

Bluebird June 28th, 2007 04:11 AM

Re: Caelum Wins!

Yea, Helmheim was difficult to contain, and he played his hidden troop really well. Probably Oceania, being a water nation, was never as effected as I was, but he managed to completely kill my economy with this guerilla tactics.

Problem was that my PD was more or less useless: even with PD 20+, a small group of his glamour units was able to take a province. So, I would have needed to put a significant army into every province.

Thanks again Meglobob for the helping me in this joint effort. And Migaaresno, well played.

No problem Bluebird, I was sure we would win together vs Helheim but Migaaresno was excellent with his stealth troops.

Yea, PD wise, I tried 40+ with a couple of mages to support in a vain effort at a defense, failed miserably...I think any PD cannot survive a assault by even a few of Helheims raiders.

WraithLord June 28th, 2007 05:26 PM

Re: Caelum Wins!

But couldn't you sacrifice defense of your own provinces and just bring the attack to his home court?- I mean pay him back with the same coin. Use small squads, recruit some stealthy indies, use assassination spells, ruin his economy with hurricanes, volcanic eruption etc etc. The question is not meant in a disregarding way, rather I'd really like to better understand what really happened.

Now I'm really sorry I moved all of my scouts out of hellheim's turf, I probably missed a lot of fun http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

You won thats what happened... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Helheim was a really big help to you, he killed Vanheim single handed early on, drove me into the sea. Then he killed Marverni, helped by Ulm. Then he defeated the alliance of myself (Oceania) and Ulm. Well doing so he even attacked Sauromatia and softened him up for you. Thats the story of the west, domination by Helheim...the east is a tale for someone else to tell.

Just for the record I did Mind Hunt several of Helheims leaders and did hit him with regular locust swarms.

The best troop against Helheim were mercenary slyphs, those wiped the floor with his troops, shame they deserted me. Also fire elementals and magma children, fire attack AOE 1 were good, but they came along too late. Really spring hawks are probably a good answer to Helheims troops but air is a weak path for Oceania.
