Re: New turn

Sorry to see you go. I haev never had a battle with your nation but I can say WELL FOUGHT! You were brave to join the alliance against the evil Sauromatia. There is no shame in losing after 50 turns. You will be missed.

Jazzepi, you can set yourself to AI. I dont have a master password set, so i cant do it for you.

Jazzepi May 10th, 2007 05:07 PM

Re: New turn

My position was untenable and the pretender I created was essentially useless. I got sandwiched between two ocean nations who liked to invade at the same time.

That said, I learned quite a bit!

New turn is out. Sorry for the delay. I was waiting for the 6th player to send in the turn and there is no 6th player. Silly me.

Re: Clash of the Newbies! PBEM

Hmm, still dont have all the turns... Maybe this game is over? Does anyone move to surrender?

cupido2 May 20th, 2007 06:18 AM

Re: Clash of the Newbies! PBEM

Who didn't send the turn? No. This game is only over when Sauromatia lies in the dust!

RicoRico May 20th, 2007 11:20 AM

Re: New turn

I assume you got my turn?

There is a bunch of supercombatants roaming the world, I'm still curious when I'll slay them!
One in particular has caused me grief, he made a contract with a Demon. Now, that can never be good for your health in the long run, can it?
And then there's that Bird that does not want to die! Keeps sending me hordes of beasts from other dimensions!

The speed of the game seems to go down a bit, yes. Any reason?

Re: New turn

I am hosting now still dont have Oceania' turn. I think we might need a sub for the sub. This is two stales in a row.

RicoRico May 21st, 2007 12:20 PM

Re: New turn

perhaps we should try and find a new sub indeed, and if we don't find one before next host, put him to AI?

Re: New turn

I'll try to sub, if that is possible. I'm a complete nub, though, and havn't a clue of how to play mp games

Re: New turn

I'm really new, but could try subbing. Not sure how to go about doing it, though.

Cor May 24th, 2007 05:46 PM

sum1won, you can sub.

everone else, new turn out.

Re: New turn

Hey, I still exist. What gives? I think Sauromatia becoming a little gun shy.

Are you afraid to seige my castle? Just because you lost nearly your whole army last time you tried is no reason to be so careful. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: New turn

:-P
Don't worry Arcoscephale, your time will come, soon! Just wanted to bring a fewwww more men in. You know, my soldiers all wanted to see this upcoming epic battle, eve if it would be their lat one, so who am I to refuse them? Or, how about you try and break that siege? Wouldn't that be quite heroic?

Cor May 25th, 2007 01:42 PM

Re: New turn

I must warn you. We have no less than 20 Watchers, 6 elemental Kings/Queens as well as lots of dragons , 16 SCs and a stock pile of WMDs. If you surrender now, Arco will not use them. Send all your gold and gems to Arco and Abysia or face utter destruction!

cupido2 May 25th, 2007 09:34 PM

Re: New turn

Yes, send us all your money and gems or I will make your worm-god crawl back under the rock he came from.

Long live the alliance of the flames!

RicoRico May 26th, 2007 07:33 AM

Re: New turn

Your magic must be truly powerful, to have summoned all that in just a few months! Even more reason for my armies to come in and have a look. And don't worry, we'll bring some gems, as a gift!

In the mean while, my Grand Wyrm will continue to bring new faith in the infidel lands.

It is foreseen: Your fiery alliance will go up in flames..!

Cor May 26th, 2007 01:04 PM

Re: New turn

New turn out, I will host again sunday or monday if the turns are in, B/c my internet is back up at home.

Sauromatia, You were warned. I only wish you had brought 1000 more troops into the death trap. Nextime maybe your cowardly god will storm Arco castle, Pyre looks forward to that.

We must thank you for all the arifacts your commanders left behind. We accept your generous gifts, does this mean you wish peace? All we reqiure is all your gold and gems and 3/4 of your land split between Arco and Abysia. Certainly a small price, no?

RicoRico May 28th, 2007 10:03 AM

Re: New turn

Ah, Arcoscephale, once again the power of magic has triumphed over the power of numbers! Or, has it?
Has your magic power outgrown you? The suicidal explosion that wiped out all but a few of your own commanders was a sight to behold! My army's survivors will have good tales to tell to spice up our camp fire meals.
Your luck is running out, and I suspect you know it. Send me all of your gems and items and we could talk about letting you keep your Home Fortress for a couple of months longer. Think of your nation's children!

And, on the other side of the world, Abysia's champion of Fire is isolated. Hardly any men left to protect him from his fate. He is formidable still, but will he survive the next battle? Certainly, many of my hydras were killed in the latest, fierce battle, but there is still the Grand Wyrm, he who's powers exceed that of any crature currently alive!

cupido2 May 29th, 2007 03:02 PM

Re: New turn

The Abysian childern have sent their weakest beeing to test the enemy's power. We are a bit surprised to hear him prised as the champion of fire.
Many hydras and unknowing men, ranging from the militias Sauromatia had to rise in his dispair to the elite Cataphracts, were burnt to ashes in a few seconds. Only the cursed wyrm, a god, can challenge my regular troops. When the Abysian's lowly troops can cause such a slaughter among the Sauromatian armies what will their GOD do to you I ask! Tremble in fear and crouch in your castles! Nothing will stop his fury!

RicoRico May 29th, 2007 03:52 PM

Re: New turn

Ah, the Abysian 'god'. I wonder if it even exists. And if it does, it must the greatest coward of all Abysians, as it has never dared show its face!
The Wyrm is not worried, not worried at all. He will treat Abysia's false god just as he would any regular Abysian soldier and grant him a swift and certain death!
And my fallen warriors will live on in the spirit of their sons and daughters, for a true Sauromatian knows no fear, not even of death.

Why don't you let Sauromatia stall every turn? The real god is you, Cor! Hail Cor, Supreme Ruler of the Aran map, Time Lord, He who has the divine machine! We beg you to freeze Sauromatia in eternity so we can claim back what is ours! We will sacrifice blood to please you oh Real one!

Thats right, a stray lightning bolt struck an unprotected commander who was protected with Pheonix Pyre, which caused her to explode, which caused her neigbor to explode, and so on, killing about 20 commanders in one of the coolest chain reactions I have ever seen.

I hope this is a lesson to all of you about the dangers of mass communions and pheonix pyre.

I have only one question for Sauromatia: where did you get those nifty troll knights riding moose? I have never seen those.

I actually laughed out loud just imagining your reaction when watching the video. If that was last turn, copy that save file and find someone with FRAPs... that's gotta make the main board.

Would make an interesting AAR too...

ahhh.. I missed you casting phoenix pyre! and yes, with communions that can hurt! :-P that one was BIG! Imagine the suprised look on the face of my few remaining commanders... I could not figure out what happened, I thought it was due to the King of Fire dying or something..

Well, that communion thing is not very likely to happen anymore, is it :-P

By the way, the moose come with the troll king summoning!

Arco has repelled another assault. This time causing another 200 casualties on the Sauromatian armies and killing 15 commanders.

Re: New turn

So, this was my first MP game ever and I took a nation I thought I was familiar with via the demo. The # of mistakes or things I would have changed is huge.

That being said, Oceania going AI really really sucked. We spent so much time and effort trying to take down pangaea that we were completely separated from the arco/aby/sauro conflict. And still, we were bad at it. Suddenly having an ally go AI with a wide-open back door sucks http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

That being said, as you'll notice we're flailing ineffectually at your backside Rico...bit too late and all that but hopefully annoying. At the same time Oceania is doing the same. (knew I should have hit them when they were stale http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif)

So, Arco and Aby - message me with what you may need in the way of help. We've got some resources, just not a lot of cash. Know that we have 2 weak armies playing in Sauro's backyard now being annoying...probably soon to be decimated. We were going to finish our original plan of taking out pangaea, but then sauro seemed to want a piece of the pie.

Let me know what our poorly designed and managed nation can do to help.

RicoRico June 5th, 2007 07:11 PM

Re: New turn

ROAAARRRRR!!!!

I should have dispelled that global spell when I had the chance!
There will be a time for revenge, the children of my finest warriors have already been training for years. They know no fear, for they know that glory will come for the Grand Snake, in due time.
Be aware, Pyre, master of the skies, for I am not out of tricks yet...

And the forces from the water are stirring as well. They think they can take my lands and enjoy them. They have chosen to trade peaceful coexistence with an age of pain. They will learn the fury of the jungle!

And then there's Abysia, the once powerful. Not to be underestimated, still, but the furnace is losing fuel, cooling down. I will reduce them to a flickering candle, and blow it out with a hiss, spelling victory.

jutetrea June 5th, 2007 07:34 PM

Re: New turn

Shhhh! The larvae(?) are sleeping!

Just to be clear, Pan was our Kill. Out of this miserable excuse for a playstyle we will gain that much at least.

Other than that, carry on.

Cor June 5th, 2007 08:48 PM

Re: New turn

I think Arco is beyond help at this point, but I am okay with that. I have lost count of the number of Sauromatians that have died trying to take our home. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Better send another 400 to die at the gates of Arco.

Man, are there a lot of elephants out there trying to walk right over my armies! I can hear the thunder in my capital!
Perhaps I should do something about them, before this gets out of hand!

Cor June 13th, 2007 04:47 PM

Re: New turn

Elephants? neat!

I see you have begun another siege on my capital. Better bring 2000 troops this time http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Cor June 13th, 2007 06:43 PM

Re: New turn

Rico

YOU CAST WILD HUNT! Oh no you didn't.

You deserve some kind of award, I have never heard of that being used in multiplayer. Very cool. And very bad for the rest of us, because obviously you are rolling the gems.

RicoRico June 13th, 2007 07:05 PM

Re: New turn

I had some better options, I agree.. But I just liked to see it used for once :-) And curiosity doesn't kill snakes, just cats.

and you know, it actually killed a priest! Ok, the cheapest there is, but it's DEAD now!

I tried it in single player a few times, but it never lasted more than one turn...

I'd also love to cast The Kindly Ones, but I don't have the paths... Never seen it in action.

Cor June 14th, 2007 02:40 PM

Re: New turn

I recently cast Kindly Ones In a SP. I was shocked to find they they will kill your commanders at roughly an equal rate as everyone elses. I was like WTF!?

Kindly Ones is only advisable if you have no blood mages, and even then they will attack random commanders. The Kindly Ones themselves are total badasses and can challenge thugs easily.

jutetrea June 20th, 2007 12:54 PM

Re: New turn

Arco and Aby - are you guys still kicking?

I see no way Atlantis can come back vs. the gems/gold of Sauro. I'd be willing to give Rico the win.

Oceania backstabbing me sucked...my capital has been under siege forever... no idea why the ai isn't breaking through. I've got 1 guy in it vs his 140 or so.

By the way, lord of the hunt has been annoying.. I had very few priest to start and now have 0.

This game was actually good though, my first time playing MP and I learned a lot from it. Mostly what "not" to do.

paraderain June 20th, 2007 02:16 PM

Re: New turn

My gawd yall started this game in January and it's now almost July?!!! How long do these games take? A lifetime? lol

Cor June 20th, 2007 05:18 PM

Re: New turn

Yeah, I have no hope of winning. I can beat back storming of my castle forever, But that is pretty futile. I am also willing to give the win to RicoRico. He certainly deserves it. He fought off Abysia, Pangaea, Arco all at once and eventually engaged every nation on the map.

If Abysia(Cupido2) concedes we have a winner.
