Re: Rlyeh

The Godfather loves all living creatures and calling the foreign starfolk of R'lyeh "abominations" only because they look a bit different than what a Horselord sees during his days in the plains, is unbearable for us. But we will forgive your unthoughtful words about R'lyeh and ourselves, dear Lord of Tien Chi, because you just don't know better. And we don't want to think what you might have called the noble Abysians, if you had seen them.

And about the topic of getting down and kill me: We are not at war with any of our neighbours, not even with you. We just want to live in peace. Ask Caelum. They now know that and won't enter the oceans again. A friendly talk between a delegation of our Coral Guards and the Lord of Caelum in his capitol was the solution of the misunderstandings some month ago. We are glad to have this matter settled and won't give up the hope to make you understand the good intentions of the Godfather too. We will try hard and send our Coral Guards to revisit your capitol. Aaah sweet memories.

I've had a couple requests and since it is Easter weekend I'm going to put the game on hold until Monday (CST) so we don't see a bunch of stales. The turn will be due next Wed.

So go relax for a weekend Have a drink on me!

Meglo - I'm not sure if you are aware - but using stealth commanders to sneak non-stealth troops out of a besieged castle is a bug.

From Edi's List: BHV Non-stealthy Units Sneaking Out of Besieged Castles Non-stealthy units can sneak out of besieged castles. Requires stealthy commander. Give commander move orders out of castle and he will sneak. Add non-stealthy units and move orders change from sneak to move, but orders are executed on hosting anyway. Can be used to evacuate sieged castles to friendly nighboring provinces and/or attack neighboring hostile provinces. This seems to be a special case of the above issue.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but it looks like this is what you did to escape the seige of your capital.

Yea, I know, I read the thread but is it a bug or a WAD? Unless its been fixed, I consider it just part of the game mechanics. Also are there any rules against exploiting a bug?

I thought it was very, clever... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Still, it won't save me, I reckon I have a few more turns at the most. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Radiance – Random Nations, Middle Era (Signup)

I think I have a problem (bug!?) - for the last couple of turns, one of my castles does NOT produce any units - I wonder why. The production is set, there are no hostile units, there are plenty production points.... What is making me upset, that this is the castle closest to the frontline.... Have you had any similar problems before?

Question: Is there anything other than Pangeas revelers that causes unrest without giving you a notice? There are some magic sites, but if your unrest suddenly goes up is it certain that it's Pangea?

It specifically says in the rulebook that non-stealth troops cannot sneak with sneaking commanders. The GUI itself tells you that you are moving - not sneaking. Edi runs the official bug list and its on there. I'm not sure how you rationalize it not being a bug.

It's generally assumed to be at the minimum poor form at the worst cheating to exploit a bug.

With your bug exploit you stopped me from reinforcing or retreating with my main force with lead to the total collapse of my primary army.

Frankly - that's not cool or clever.

Well, the past 6 turns or so I have just been doing my 'duty' to the other players by fighting to the death. I cannot withstand your excellent master enslave strategy and your timing of your attack on Agartha was perfect. In order to balance out any damage I caused you by my use of the move/sneak bug I have set Agartha to AI, giving you a easy time conquering my remaining provinces.

Finally, thanks to Velusion for hosting, he runs a exemplary game.

Agartha/Meglobob over and out.

I'm not desperate enough to be extorted if that's what you're asking. PM me with what you want, I've got many reasonable things to trade including most raw gems and many con-6 items including blood items it's unlikely anyone else can forge.

The Sword of Aurgelmer has been removed from the hands of Arco, as the guile of Mictlan is great. Anyone can attempt to reforge it, but only if you do so immediately, as Arco will attempt to regain their treasure.

I'll be on buisness travel from Apr 23 to Apr 26. I don't know if I'll have internet access during this time.

Can the game be put on hold during this time? If the delay is to long, a substitute is acceptable.

Thanks

I think a 24-48 hour delay would be possible. Depending on the hosting schedule the delay might be very minimal or not needed.

I typically don't look for temp replacements for others but feel free to ask someone you trust to fill in for you.

And begin to think of saying good bye to the Atlantian godfather. At least it isn't the Tien Chi that ruins the Mafia & Wolven Winter Ltd. The Godfather is already packing his suitcases and took the plane to a paradise island to savor his well deserved retirement.

Good bye

Turn Time Extension

As we complete turn 60 I've had a couple people tell me it is taking them along time to do their turns and I can sympathize (and sometimes relate).

So when we reach turn 70 (10 turns from now) we are going to move to a 72 hour turn clock. Hopefully most people can still complete their turns within 48 hours, but I want to give those people that are running a large empire time to manage their affairs properly.

For those who think 72 hours slow, take solace in that I might be starting up a new game soon! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

K April 28th, 2007 07:39 PM

Re: Turn Time Extension

I've gone to computer control. I think someone has been hacking my turn since key commands haven't been happening (I don't have a password on my turn, which was a noob mistake since this is my first MP game). Since I'm losing to the combined might of Arco and the rescued Machaka anyway, this kind of thing wasn't even necessary.

I've sent off my items to Abysia and Caelum. Good game everyone.

Manuk April 28th, 2007 09:07 PM

Re: Turn Time Extension

You just didn't notice that my earh attack made your Mother of the serpents use all her gems in that assasination and she wasn't able to cast those spells in the real battle.
Foul Vapors? it was against the elemental that she killed.

K April 28th, 2007 10:22 PM

Re: Turn Time Extension

Actually, the issue that made me notice the hack was that several mages with their troops had been given orders to break siege at the same time and join that battle, and for some reason their orders had been changed. This isn't the first time in this particular game that I've given troops orders only to have different moves be made, things I wasn't even considering (and I'm not talking about battlefield scripting, which we all know is dynamic).

I'm not pointing any fingers or making any accusations, but I am bowing out.
