Pause the game?

Pasha: yeah I will turn quicktime off when I get home. Cross your fingers that I remember! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Question: how will taking quickhost off make it any the more possible for the Dawg to take his turn in time, when he has no power?

Pasha did equip me with his password for the contingency that you wouldn't pause the game, so I suppose I'll do this turn for Sauromatia... But you should maybe put the game on quickhost-only until such force majeure reasons as storms have been dealt with http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Pause the game?

Sorry I meant the timer off.

Which, of course, I immediately forgot http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Uggh, curse my swiss cheese memory!! This is like the third time I've bungled it now.

Ok, I am writing it on my hand *right now* so that I cannot forget!

Re: Pause the game?

What if you pour some hot coffee on your hands and, while washing it off, remove the writing?

Malthus April 17th, 2007 04:29 PM

<Sigh>

Well, for a group of global enchantments that are supposed to be catastrophic, it seems that very little has happened.

Those blood slaves could have been put to far better use.

Teraswaerto April 17th, 2007 06:07 PM

Niefelheim must be destroyed

The effect of those enchantments is gradual. Since they use slaves and not gems they are very hard to dispel. I predict Niefelheim must be invaded and the caster killed, soon, if anyone other than Niefelheim wants any hope of winning.

Astral Corruption favors blood nations, and pretty much prevents new globals from being cast. Any nation that uses magic lots will suffer lots. Is there any nation that wont suffer at this point? Abysia has not invested much into blood, this global is not in our favor.

The Looming Hell makes it very hard to invade Niefelheim, as their lands have high dominion with heavy devil attacks.

Giants with bonus hit points? Come on, do I need to say more. Luckily, this can and must be dispelled. It is not a question of slaves vs gems, but gems vs gems.

Ironhawk April 17th, 2007 07:03 PM

Re: Niefelheim must be destroyed

I'm all for invading niefelheim! Whoever fights them will get extra cash, gems, items, etc. Just let me know and I can set up a support plan.

Who neighbors them?

StrictlyRockers April 17th, 2007 07:31 PM

Re: Niefelheim must be destroyed

Yomi, Vanheim and Agartha border Neifelheim to the south and east. Buy some scouts.

Malthus April 17th, 2007 08:07 PM

Re: Niefelheim must be destroyed

Yes! Yes! If anyone invades Neifelheim, I'm totally there!

Boron April 17th, 2007 09:18 PM

Re: Niefelheim must be destroyed

Hm i profit somewhat from Malthus globals, unfortunately too late though for me, i am slowly dying because i totally underestimated the power of those wind rider hordes.

200 wind riders are hard to deal with without having a normally for mictlan typical dual/triple bless http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

KissBlade April 17th, 2007 09:31 PM

Re: Niefelheim must be destroyed

Eh I'm pretty ambivalent about Niefel's summons. Worst is I can't make stuff for my onis. My income is slightly wracked by my growing upkeep expenses though ... Yomi's troops really are a tad overpriced when it comes to commanders.

Ironhawk April 17th, 2007 11:04 PM

Re: Niefelheim must be destroyed

Timer is now turned off at Pasha's request.

Sorry about forgetting last turn Pasha! Hope your power comes back on soon http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

GameExtremist April 18th, 2007 05:34 AM

Re: Niefelheim must be destroyed

Arco shares Neifelheim's western border.

For now we use our resources dealing with Mictlan who attacked without warning a number of turns ago. They have found that indeed massed wind warriors with the right bless and good protection spell can be very hard to defeat.

We will give gems to anyone who is willing to dispel the Giants globals.

No Internet for Pasha

Hi:

I now have power but no internet, and it could take several days. I have sent a PM to Jurri asking him fill in for me for the time being.

Thanks.

In future games i won't attack Arco GE again as carelessly ;(.

Another victory for the Arcosians, though this time we at least inflicted some casualities and improved our loss-kill Ratio from 100:1 to ca. 10:1. So at least some success http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif.

Chip, chip, chipping away at your armor, FAJ. How much longer can you survive?

I do have to say, tho, that Death Mages are probably the most irritating mage to try and pry out of a castle.

FAJ April 19th, 2007 05:54 PM

Re: No Internet for Pasha

You could beat me, i dont know why you keep sending in your forces half assed. Are you sending everything else to the jotuns?

My lower caslte has like, 6-7 mages and 2 infantry. Im sure you can manage to take it. My capital doesn't have much more.

if you dont kill me soon ill have to alchemize my gems to death gems and you wont get any spoils of war!

A few more horror attacks for me and another giant raid but the globals still seem somewhat weak. Last game Ermor cast 4 thematic globals and it was game over for us all. Shrug.

I am back!

Thank you to Jurri for filling in for me.

Ironhawk April 20th, 2007 02:40 AM

Re: Internet for Pasha

Nah, you underestimate your power, FAJ. My first attack on your capital clearly showed how brutal Shadow Blast / Clouds of Death are. Sending my men in without a plan would be committing suicide (twice!). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Fear not, the assault crew is on the way.

As for the attack at the southern fort, that was a cheap shot to see if I could take it. If my mages hadnt run out of spell script they'd have killed all your sauro's and I'd have won. It was worth trying.

FAJ April 20th, 2007 10:53 AM

Re: Internet for Pasha

Lucky you, Im gonna be away for the weekend. I won;t ask for a pause of game because I have like, 2-3 provinces left.

Ill set myself AI after this turn.

LoloMo April 20th, 2007 11:06 AM

Re: Internet for Pasha

Grrrrr, 2 of my best equipped mages just got eaten by horrors. That was a really costly dispel on the Gift of Health. Theoseus and Uranotheus, your sacrifices will not be in vain!

Ironhawk April 23rd, 2007 12:57 PM

Re: Internet for Pasha

Yeah its down. I got the "old version" crash message when I checked it this morning.

Boron, I removed your turn submission and the server was able to start again. Did you re-install and forget to upgrade to 3.06? The server is back up now. Make sure you have the right version and then re-do you turn.

Boron April 23rd, 2007 01:36 PM

Re: Internet for Pasha

Hm i have 3.07 test candidate, thought that patches are compatible downwards and only give slightly false battle replays worst case.

Ironhawk April 23rd, 2007 01:57 PM

Re: Internet for Pasha

That must be what it is. No, dominions 3 does this stupid thing where it crashes the server (not the client!!!) when there is a version mismatch. Apparently that was not fixed in the 3.07 client. Anyway, just use your old version - please dont try and connect with the new one now, I'm at work and will not be able to restart the server.

Boron April 23rd, 2007 02:44 PM

Re: Internet for Pasha

Ok installed a 3.06 copy. Sorry for all the trouble, seems my memory was either wrong or it was changed for Dom3. From old Dom2-times i remember that it worked to play e.g. a 2.12 game with a 2.14 patched Dom, it only lead to wrong battle replays sometimes.

Doing my turn now and everything should work again.

Ironhawk April 23rd, 2007 06:00 PM

Re: Internet for Pasha

Yeah in dom2 the versions were backwards compatible to some extent. But in dom3 they just crash the server. Really dont like that.

Anyone want to replace Yomi?

Aren't witches suppose to have a healing ability? Also any who died wanna try their hand at using Yomi? I have WoW and between that and exams, this game is seriously getting lackluster. The position's pretty easy to defend considering I have fortresses at almost every province (had no other real use since Yomi's troops are pretty poor) Not at war with anyone but message me before I submit this turn or post here!

Looks like Niefel giants make pretty pretty torches when you hit them with a Pillar of Fire. In other news, Soul Slay will kill even a Doom Horror with some luck.

Re: Anyone want to replace Yomi?

Having the capital in a forest is supposed to be an advantage, because you get so many extra resources, and it automatically turns what is normally a low-income province into a very high income one. By the time you are facing beckoning, having your capital bombarded with artillery spells is just a fact of life. Would you rather have it on a coastline and get pelted with hurricanes? Beckoning is level 6, and at that same tech level, dome spells are available.

KissBlade April 25th, 2007 02:48 PM

Re: Anyone want to replace Yomi?

Oh yeah, I forget to add. Another note for whoever is subbing for me, the dai onis to the northern defenses are to be scripted with resist fire in their script as well. I'm not sure if they're already scripted with them or not. Too lazy to check. =\

Ironhawk April 25th, 2007 04:10 PM

We need a sub for Yomi. Anyone interested should PM me. Pass along the invite if you know a friend who might be up for it. I would hate to have a power vacuum at this point in the game.

Bah, Ironhawk! We should just let Yomi go AI. Then you and I and Kailasa can carve them up! Sort of like the Ottoman Empire after WW1.
