Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Errrrr.. Appearantly K didnt get my PM about me not being here over thanksgiving...?????
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
3 Stale turns and I'm under siege in my main province... Hrrrrm
Had it been like one stale turn I'd have let it go.. but... 3 is a little much.. |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
eh... he's not too active. you should certainly post stuff like that in the thread, so that the rest of us know as well. also, how could it be 3? we've only had like one turn in the past week as there was that double rollback...
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Err It was actually 3. we rolled back to 59. I got turn 59 in and then missed 60 which came in on Wed. after I left and then 61 and 62. Executor knew that I was gone as him and I are teamed up in two of the other games I am in but I guess somewhere along the way the fact that I was gone got lost in Hellscape.. But I did PM K as well..
I'm about to the point that I would just say **** it and take the staled turns and lets get this game over with so I can focus on my team games. I dunno.. Still thats 3 wishes Ive missed and 4 or 5 less Tartarins summoned. that I'd otherwise have on top of whatever other misc. crap I'd have done. As well as having not been able to move my unit with the Forbidden light to where I need him which he would now be had I been able to move him... |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
I gotta think that the greater part of your power is intact, and you should have some muscle to throw around. The staling is unfortunate, but things could have been made more clear and posted in the thread.
I'm just enjoying tooling around on my bike, so whatever ;) |

Yeh, I'm kinda on cruise control in this game. I'm open to suggestions about a resolution to this problem. |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
You could give Psi or Arch the password also, so they can delay when they need to.
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Steel Ovens are under siege once again by the victorious armies of Niefelheim.
Consider this revenge for wishing away my, MY sceptre!!!! |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Hmm, I've played the but forgot to send it in. DOE!!!
Could R'lyeh STOP wishing away all of my unique items, there's only a handful of them left now. |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Lol... I'll think about it. If there are no more that I want I'll stop haha.
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
I've set myself to AI because I've been really distracted and have been staling. If anyone want to take over as host, send me an email at kazthefirst at yahoo dot com. If not, then just email me if you need turns to be delayed or something.

Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Very interesting.
I am still to watch the whole battle but don't you think that is just a little excessive? I mean 5 abomination, Chayot, pack of Tartarians, dozens of wrath lords, liches, djinn, even a very equipped rudra?, golems, mind lords, Pyriphlogos, Faery Queen, a lot of little mages, a bunch of summons including wights, ghosts, sprites, chaff and of course a INSANELY POWERFUL Master Lich with a total of 63 MAGIC PATHS!!!! |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
heh - i didn't even notice the lich.
it was definitely a sight, though. edit: hey, 41 paths only - must have been 3 wishes for magic power. |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Sorry if I hop here uninvited :D
But... why don't you post that great awesome battle's turn file after the game is finished? I can put it on YouTube if that's ok for ya :) |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
That's fine with me, the game will probably be over soon anyway.
Huh, it seems I've lost my pretender also. Shame. Oh I've almost forgot to ask, did that surprise Astral Corruption put a stop on the clam factory??? |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Eh Yeah Astral corruption is indeed putting a bit of a halt to the clam factory, but not the wishing. I'm trying to forge one clam this turn to see how it goes.
I'm thinking about casting a spell that will screw all of you up like Utterdark to get even for the Astral corruption though. At least my Pretender has blood magic so I can wish for blood slaves and start summoning some bad *** Blood Summons. I wish I could have been doing vampires but thats part of the weakness of a water nation.. an imortal vampire dies and where does he go... Cant go underwater... |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
By the way.. Ive figured out a relatively easy way to get rid of your Astral corruption. I'm assuming you poured more blood slaves into it than I could put Astral pearls to dispel it so that leaves me the option of overwriting your Astral corruption with my own and purposely getting the caster killed.
100 Pearls = 250 Blood slaves.. Shouldnt take too many wishes to make sure I can overwrite your Astral corruption. So ammusingly enough in a few turns I may have an SC that you actualy do not want to kill haha. Guess who will be first to try and break the next siege of my fort. or go on some dangerous province raiding trips. |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Haha, Abomination of Desolation and his squad of lesser horrors = Owned by my Pretender and Abomination Bodyguards.
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
What a Doom Horror attacked you when you wished? or did you wish a Doom Horror?
They don't stick around forever you know. |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
It attacked along with several lesser horrors
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Uhh, I'll have to redo my turn. :)
|

Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
oh, uh, lol? that would be the problem w/ astral corruption... any big expenditure, and you probably want astral in order to script returning...
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Wow, my pretender got attacked by something even tougher than the Abomination of Desolation. The Maker of Ruins. The bastard managed to kill 2 of my abominatins before I put him down.
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Oh how'd ya like that Lone Rudra wiping out your little army this last turn? That was fun.
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
That won't happen again, didn't expect that.
I'd offer to send my pretender against him if not for several aflictions that made him useless. :) |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
fair enough - you two should go against my dominion furnace. I so wanted to avoid doing anything, like fighting, though ;)
So I'm not sure how much of a fight I'll be able to muster... but Rlyeh is running against the clock. At least i'm using up Psi's wishes :) |

Ive got about 13 Telastic animations, 3 more H2 priests and a Prophet (Juggernaut) on the way... Might help to stem the tide of your Dominion.. Or it might not I dunno. |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
War to Hinnom who thinks he will subdue us even without a fight! We strike in 3 months.
Hehe, last turn I lost 10 Jarls to Psi and now we are allied against you. |

Executor: remember, you want me to crack at about the same time rlyeh finally loses his dominion ;p |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
pm'ing K to try and get slightly longer turns over christmas... since the mean space-squids are gonna force me to work for it ;p
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
And the most interesting part is that I just figured out how to kill that Rudra...
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
please feel free to demonstrate :D
there's cookies in it for you... |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
well, that was an interesting battle. I was probably lucky, being able to shrug off so many paralyzes and the like.
looks like that cost you a full turn's forging ;p |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
This time I'm the spectator. A nice change.

Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Executor, no NAP should hold in a situation such as this - there is always an implicit exception for force majeure. At present trends it looks like all opposing dominion will be destroyed in 4 turns, maybe 5.
I'm open also to other alternatives, if you guys want to continue fighting w/out having the game end. Or, otherwise, when the dom wave crushes everything in its path, we could declare a joint victory - there's not much honour gained by winning w/ Hinnom ;) though I am looking forward to fighting some of R'lyeh's SCs. I've never even seen a chayot before :) |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
pardon the voice from the past, i was just checking in to see who was winning this game and saw archaeo's post
- how did Hinnom get such an overwhelming dominion especially relative to niefel who seems to have about the same number of provinces? just curious as I have never seen a player domkill someone who still had so much land... |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
the kids weren't paying attention to dominion - and Hinnom can dom push w/ the best of them.
since serious dominion flood attacks are so rare, it is easy for people to underestimate their potential ferocity. It is not that abnormal to think that dominion is mostly just some minor bonus or malus. |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
yeah, i fit into the bucket you described although i have been focusing on dominion more in other games but mostly b/c i have been playing more often with awake pretenders where those extra white candles are key. but it still surprises me you could domkill a huge nation - god knows i had trouble trying to domkill QM down to just a few provinces in artifacts and I had blood sacrificing vans. interesting to see it work on a grander scale - would be nice to see more games end with large domkills to avoid the late game fatigue and since it is somewhat thematic.
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Wow, I staled the last turn (don't have much time due to New Year and school, yes a kid I am compared to most dom players) but I never saw anyones dominion grow this fast. Didn't hink it was possible really, I never used dom kill properly even with Mictlan.
Interesting, never been dom killed before, although I did take only 4 dominion, I really dislike Niefelheim, really, really. I'm fine either way, just wanna see this game over. And yeah you're right Arch, if I had seen my dom cut in half sooner I'd probably ignore the NAP, as would have done with AN,AC,Burden of time and similar situations. |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
well, I don't think putting up AC would count as reason to vitiate the NAP, given that you payed for most of it ;p
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Well not in this situation, but in general.
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Yeah if the damned Arcane corruption wasnt up I could be fairly easily countering his dominion kill. I think you got played there Ex.
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Actually... that was my idea before he started the dominion rush.
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Ahh so he turned your idea against you then. Good move Arch. Ya bastard... :D
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
i'm not sure what you could do w/ it down... the brute fact is that you need a ton of _something_ in order to counter all the candles. I think I'd have been dumping all of your vast pearl income into juggernauts, and that's not too affected by AC as the casters can all be casting returning.
but even with juggernauts, the wave was just too far advanced - and I'm generally adding 5-7 more temple checks a turn. Raiding can lower my bloodhunting, but not sufficiently. I'm about to start using all my Gem store (1300 or so) to convert to astrals in order to wish for more Blood... so that'll be a steady 200 blood every 2 turns income. I'd never take a 4 starting dominion either; I'm guessing neither will Executor from now on. :p Some builds I can live w/ a 6, but that's the absolute minimum for me (except some Mictlan strats). |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
I usually take a high dominion, 8 or 9 since I tend to go with the oracle a lot, other that that I take a dom3 SC pretender which will need awe of course so that's 9 dominion again. Only with Mictlan I take 7 and that's usually the lowest I go.
I really don't know why people think Niefelheim is an overpowered nation? |
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
ah, because it can rush almost anyone, and most nations won't be able to do squat. So they come out of the early game in a very strong postion.
|
Re: EA Hellscapes(Play!)
Well I don't know, so far I faced Niefelheim 3 times and I beat him all 3 times with little problems.
