Sorry. Had to add 1 more 12 hour delay. Travel woes. I will get it in for sure tomorrow night. Thanks for patience!

No worries, I quite understand :-)

To everyone - I just sent a duel proposition to Hinnom. Both of us lost this war but I'd really like to clash my army with his in the open field one last time.

I'd like to see Hinnom's army at 205 untouched just because of this.

Be sure to give us all a birds eye view of how it goes down :-)

This sounds cool.. is the fight going to happen in 205? I want to watch too :)

Anyone for a more relaxed schedule? It's turn 58 by now.

Re: NEWBIE GAME - EA - Stumble onwards to Victory! [STARTED 12/12 REMAIN]

Sure. Want to switch to 60 or 72 hours?

Re: NEWBIE GAME - EA - Stumble onwards to Victory! [STARTED 12/12 REMAIN]

I'm fine with either, the more the better, but if anyone else prefers 60, I have no problem.

k. I'll add 24 hours to current. Then switch to 72.

Guys, I'm going to be in Kazakhstan on the work trip next week and won't be able to make my turn until Thursday.

Thanks for understanding.

Not sure if you'll be able to get this turn in or not, but I'll postpone current until Friday. Cheers!! and hope you have fun also on the trip.

I delayed 24 hours.

Helheim scores have been going from too high to...overwhelming. 154 provinces, 325 gem income, that's like everybody else combined. The fight is fun, but seems a little pointless. Any thoughts?

Lanka wants at least one battle with Helheim before calling it quits. :D

I'm ready to call it a game if everyone else is.

Re: NEWBIE GAME - EA - Stumble onwards to Victory! [STARTED 12/12 REMAIN]

This seems to be one of the difficulties of having a game without clear victory conditions. My understanding is Lanka and I are supposed to script attacks on the next turn.

I am ok wih going a couple more turns if Rev. wants, but maybe we say if in 3-4 turns things still look much like this we call the game? My turns take a long damn time.

Also, just to be clear, I'm also ok with calling it now, because. you know.. my turns take a long damn time ;)

Let's don't prolong this on my account. Ermor?

Re: NEWBIE GAME - EA - Stumble onwards to Victory! [STARTED 12/12 REMAIN]

Yeah, fair cop.

I'm pretty sure I can preserve some form of territorial integrity and remain viable for maybe five more turns, but Helheim is playing well so I won't do better than 1:1 on average and he will grind me down with his much superior income (gold and gems) and then crush me under his boot heel like a tiny, insignificant bug :D

So yeah, I am good to call it - well played Austen!

Talking of victory conditions, I really do like "more than half the capitals, for three complete turns (e.g. not counting the turn that you take a capital)". Seems to work well to produce an outcome.

So are we done here then? I don't want to spend the time for the turn if we're done :)

Re: NEWBIE GAME - EA - Stumble onwards to Victory! [STARTED 12/12 REMAIN]

Seems there are some votes, I'm fine with conceding victory. I still have my full armies left, but I'm almost drained on many gem types, and can't replenish them at Helheim rate. And don't want to see my hall of famers Fomorian Kings dying painfully :P
Well played then, Austen. Talk about reaching critical mass!
Will you do a brief of the game on your perspective? I like reading those.

Austen August 19th, 2012 06:11 PM

Re: NEWBIE GAME - EA - Stumble onwards to Victory! [STARTED 12/12 REMAIN]

OK.. so it sounds like we're done.. I can delay the turn a day or two just in case someone objects. maybe send out a message through llamaserver.

If we are, in fact done, I'll do some sort of AAR. I think I have all the turns.. it might be interesting enough.

Re: NEWBIE GAME - EA - Stumble onwards to Victory! [STARTED 12/12 REMAIN]

Seems we are done - well done Austen!

It would be good to get some sort of AAR, either in full or just a page or so of thoughts, challenges, lessons learnt etc. I too like reading that sort of thing :-)

OK.. game ended.. work is sort of slow, so I will see what I can come up with.. may be uneven, but we'll see..
