Asmala,

I have another request. I just noticed that balanced mod systems don't like "none" planets. Like a knob, that's what I took http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif . Priative has agreed to a restart, if you would be so kind.
Thanks

Re: Are you tough enough to be the "King of the Hill"?

Cheeze vs Slynky: turn 89

Slynky wins. We started by agreeing to make the skill involving more planning and variety. So neither of us took the bezerker handicap or raised aggressiveness above Average. I took Oranic and Advanced Storage. We met somewhere around turn 30. Slynky had Ancient Race, so he merely had to build up sufficient force and beeline to my homeworld. My Last fleet just died going through a warp point, so the game is done.

Congratulations Slynky and good luck up the hill!!

Asmala, take me off the hill. I am taking a break and cutting down on my SEIV games. Focusing my addiction on fewer games. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Perplexing game, Cheese. I never saw an organic component from you. Also, I settled in a system that was the 8th jump from my home system at the same time as you settled in it and it was 3 jumps from your home system. And, in another system, I settled which was the 6th jump from my system and 2 jumps from your home system. I realize you had to explore and I knew where to go but I had to halt on the way, waiting for a refuling point to be built. I think you should have expanded better than you did.

Anyway, you played with a strong heart till the Last hope was gone.

Cheeze March 27th, 2004 06:50 AM

Re: Are you tough enough to be the "King of the Hill"?

I have to build resupply Posts too, only I don't know what's in the next systems. And there were enough empty and nebula systems to really hold my progress. But not an unbalanced map, as far as I could tell.
I didn't see any reason to research organic. When you demanded my surrender around turn 40 I figured I was done inside of a year. I searched out as quickly as I could, since I was feeling my way around the galaxy. If I had known it was going to take another 5 years, I'd have lost with more variety. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

K.O.T.H. Parabolize vs Joachim
Turn number: 2407.3
I surrender!
He expanded East faster than I did and slowly outproduced me because of it.

Re: Are you tough enough to be the "King of the Hill"?

Asmala, would it be possible to have a restart for the Ragnarok/Alneyan KOTH game? The map was biased against him, as he is basically boxed into the North East corner, while I am a bit more to the South than him. So a restart does seem in order, and he agreed to it in-game. Thanks!

Thanks for a fun game Electrum.

Dunno if I like the balance mod though. It takes away a lot of the excitement of the exploring part, but on the other hand it reduces micromangement a lot. Guess the mod is OK for a few games , but I would not like to play all my games with this mod http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Sorry! How's this:
-----

It was Ensign Mudlark's first appointment to a ship larger than the spawning bed he was born in. The excitement he felt in his gizzard was amplified by the gravitational vortices put out by the classified warp nexus his ship was stationed over. Ensign Mudlark knew his ship was playing the waiting game for an opponent so vile, that the official orders from Wormus Prime were for all unarmed ships to immediately engage and ram the nearest enemy vessel. The Wormlings haven't resorted to such things since the war leading up to the Great Slynkian Brainfeast of 2142. Such thoughts brought Ensign Mudlark's mind back to the tunnels of his youth, where he hoped one day to return triumphant and claim a plot of soil for his own.

Suddenly, the calm of Ensign Mudlark's ready room was shattered by the piercing wail of the lower deck klaxons! He was being summoned to duty! Mudlark dashed to his equipment locker with the urgency of a wartime hero and flashed his badge over the security screen. A few seconds later, he was bound to the lower deck mess, with his weapon in hand: the top-of-the-line Specular Vacu-mop 3500. Whatever it was that spilled down there would be cleaned up before the Wormlord Shipadmiral even caught scent of it.

And so Ensign Mudlark's ship would remain clean, as the Wait continued.

What is considered the default Version for new KOTH SEIV Gold games at this point?

If it is 1.91, might you want to edit that on your rules page?

I've been very busy at Last three weeks. At the first two weeks I had my final exams and after the exams I moved to another city and started a new work. The apartment where I've lived this week is temporary and I'll move again tomorrow. I should get internet connection on Monday but ISPs aren't always as reliable as one could wish.

I'd like to thank Spoon and BBegemott, they've been extremely patient in King and Bash games. If I get the connection as the ISP promised I should be able to play normally soon.

KOTH Vadimbey vs. Gandalph
Standard KOTH settings
Stardate 2411.9

Captain Riley reporting to Colonel Ernst;

"Sir, we have sent our Last assembled and trained fleet at the enemy with the new tactics you proposed. We were met with planetary defenses we should have expected, but were not prepared for, even on his none breathable planets. We have effectively killed 2 of his planets, and lost too many ships to be effective in another strike. With 2 20+ ship fleets at our flanks, we cannot survive this battle."

Colonel Ernst;
"Then I shall inform the Grand Cardinal that our God has abandoned us and we are defeated."

Grand Cardinal Qatar;
"I cannot believe that our God would abandon us this way. Send a message to Chancellor Gareth that we surrendar to the Phong, that we may live to see, and fight, another day."
