Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
I'll do hardpoint data plus preliminary slot data for my ships. Naturally I also test how it looks in the game.
EDIT: Btw. If anyone's interested I have added Excalibur into the game. Conducting weapon tests Flying inside a nebula It still needs better textures and little scaling. [ June 20, 2004, 10:38: Message edited by: Exan ] |

Or they have included a read-me or some other note saying that anybody can, in which case, you still need to give them credits (even if they dont ask for it, its polite) |
Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
I see... Well in anycase I need your E-mail DeadZone. Gotta send some files your way.
Exan thanks for the hardpoints, BTW Excalibur looks great in Nebulae. One Last thing why can't I DL Spacedock 2? For all of you please send ANY finished products (Models, stories, ideas, etc) to my E-mail so I can insert them into the game. And another thing please include a readme of some kind, I was never good at installing mods http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Daniel Rastellini Startrek: Starfury Founder |
Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
Well I've gone straight to oweners of Staryards and asked permission to use most of his models in our game, I should get a reply in a day or two.
I know you said we have permission DeadZone, but there is no harm in bringing a bullet proof vest to a shootout. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif If all goes well you modellers can go a take a break. Oh I almost forgot the most important descision of the day!!! I've finally got a list of race put together for the game. (My mind is made up!!) Federation Orion Pirates Klingons Romulans Neutral So that's good news for Exan, only about 100 or so starsystems need to be made. SamZaWild E-mail me ASAP (Dmart897@yahoo.com) we have to discuss that story tomorrow!!! Keep up the good work everyone. Over and out! Daniel Rastellini Startrek: Starfury founder |

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
Well since the modeller knows his/her models best it's easiest for him/her to do the hardpoints himself. It's really easy. Just open the model in some 3D program and create a sphere with 1 in the radius. Then just move the sphere around where you want for example the weapon fire and take the write down the coordinates. Repeat the process until you got all the hardpoints covered and then simply write them to the SpaceObjects_XFiles.txt.
I've used this method to get all the hard points for my models and it has never failed. (expect for Pearl Dragon and I can't quite figure why) I'm not sure who originally told me this so I don't want to take credit from this method. But it works. |
Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
I've tried that, but the cordinate systems don't seem to match up.

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
Well the Pearl Dragon which hard point data I did with 3D Studio Max failed. The others I've done with anim80r and they've all worked nicely.

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!
Sorry didn't got any. My dyards.at.mbnet.fi address is redirected to my school's email address and the server tends to destroy all Messages with zip file attachments.
I doubt I'll have the time to convert the models anyway. It takes some job because I have to render the portrait images, transform the ship into x format and edit the datafiles. It takes quite some time. [ June 22, 2004, 19:55: Message edited by: Exan ] |
