Re: Tell us about yourself!

I'm 15 years old, post very rarely, play dominions 1 very actively and never win because of the standards I set to myself ( keeping taxes at a reasonable level, keeping people happy, never touching the luck scale, etc.)
I guess Dominions is just a huge immersive adventure to me, it doesn't really matter if I play with maximum efficiency or aim to win, as long as I have fun.
I live in Helsinki, Finland and know several people of the age 13 who play dominions eagerly. Maybe getting into games like Dominions at this age has something to do with our common cultural heritage http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Yes, we Finns are so powerhungry that almost every 13-years old teen wants to be a god...
Realy, i wonder why Finland has highest amount Dominions I sold per capita, and a large player community...

I think cuz Doms I. was a very very 'small game'.
I mean..no advertising etc. I bet that Doms II. will have lot more fans...er I think. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

DominionsFAN,

Let me ask you something; Is it wierd to think of people over 25 doing ANYTHING?

Further, what do imagine your hobbies will be when you are 27 or 43?

If your like 25 30 or 40+ http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif , its weird to me, that you are playing comp. games.

I'm 31 and I have been working on Dominions since 1997. Should I stop playing or developing games because I had a birthday or two?

Actually, Dominions was meant to be played by people above 35. People under that age was considered to bee too uneducated to grasp all the historical, mythological and literary paraphrases of the game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Hehe...

The dev is a *mere* 31, and claims that no one under the age of 35 should play Dom http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

So does that mean that the devs don't play? Or just that they shouldn't as they are 'too uneducated...' http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Anyway, all teenagers everywhere (not just Finska) have god complexes, the only one's you need to worry about are those that actually grow up to become gods http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

And about thinking people under 35 being too poorly educated, i even got your reference to dark power of humans left hand...

The dark power of the left hand comes from wiping your arse with it, thus turning it deadly.

Being the youngest player to tell about himself this far...
And i was something like 12 or 13 when i started playing Dominions, because Dominions was only few months old when i found it...

Oh, BTW, any succes with his marketing campaing?
