I found out that in some cases like with the water queens the descriptions are rather misleading . Same for a few spells too . I wonder though why illwinter chose 50 hp regen instead of 55 . Those 5 additional hp would be no big deal . As it is you feel betrayed by the description http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif |
Re: A question on Atlantis
Okay, now I remembered what had bugged me about water queens' regeneration.
Patch 2.13: Summoned Thalassa Queen of the Sea and gave her the amulet of fish. On dry land, she loses the regeneration icon. However, in battle she heals as if she'd have the regeneration. Hm, it'd seem Thalassa's the only one that loses the regeneration icon when moving to dry land, both queens of the lake and of the deeps keep it. Which way this is supposed to work, I'd say there's a definite inconsistency here..? |
Re: A question on Atlantis
There seem to be something fishy (forgive me for the pun) going on here.
My understanding of the matter was that the Queens had a full regeneration in water, and a weakened one out of water, but it looks like as if they work quite the same no matter what. Do you know if the Queen of the Sea keeps the same value for her regeneration out of water? (The two others should be much easier to check as they keep their icon) |
Re: A question on Atlantis
Dunno about the exact reg value of Thalassa, I saw her regenerate at least 33 HPs (from 22 to full) before those damned Conan-wannabees whacked her down. The queens of the lake and of the deep report regen values of 28 and 50 on dry land, respectively.
Additionally, it'd seem to me that Thalassa is gaining so many afflictions that the regeneration affliction chance reduction is off when on land. But that's just a gut feeling. Yea, from the description I'd understand too that they ought to have greater regeneration under the waves and lesser (if at all) above. |
Re: A question on Atlantis
My Limne gained afflictions quicker than you can say "Gift of Health" during my own tests. Regeneration is supposed to reduce the odds of getting an affliction by 10%, but I am not sure if it divides the odds by 10% or just removes 10% to all damage you take (for the purpose of getting battle wounds).
In other words, if you lose 20% of your health in a single wound but have regeneration, is the odd of getting an affliction of 2% (20 divided by 10) or 10% (20-10)? On the other hand, your Thalassa getting more afflicitions could be due to the matter of the icon disappearing. Or perhaps it is only a cosmetic issue. Or something even stranger is going on; but remember, the truth is out there. |

I'm not sure about the affliction tendency, it just may be by chance Thalassa got more in a row. I'm not too much into testing things thoroughly, just noting things I happened to see. :> |
Re: A question on Atlantis
Checked. Something is not right.
Q o Lake: regen 50% Q o Sea: underwater regen 70% Q o Deeps: regen 90% Last one is supposed to be a underwater regen I think. The descriptions are probably strange as well. Reduced regen instead of lost regen might be fun. No promises though. |
Re: A question on Atlantis
thanks for clearing that up, we were all chasing our tails trying to figure it out http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
