You could simply rename (or better, copy and rename) the Faerun_large files to Faerun.map and Faerun.tga). Or, use the files I attach in a zip file - the new faerun_large map is better (but compatible with_ the original faerun map, but is easier to use with the Dominions overlays, so I include the original text ".map" file, but the improved ".tga" image file.

Edit : Bah! My first modification before posting stripped the attachment, and now I'm told I can't edit my own post to add the attachment. Look at the next post for the files.

Here's the map image (.tga) and map information (.map) files.

Feh. Bite me. The new Shrapnel Boards apparently won't allow attachments submitted via the Opera browser - I keep getting "We cannot Proceed." "All of the required fields are not filled in", which is bogus since all fields are filled in.

So : copy your faerun_large files to a temporary directory. In the temp directory, rename them from "faerun_large.tga" and "faerun_large.map" to "faerun.tga" and "faerun.map" respectively. Copy the files back to the map directory, and you should be good to go.

A couple of people got stuck with the wrong pretender. We restarted to let them upload new ones. The original Faerun Pirates has been stopped and disowned.

Thanks Cainehill, that worked. I hope i'm not playing on a slightly differnt map though. Is this because of a recent revision in the map files?

It's the same map, but he (Edi) tweaked the colors to be a little darker (so that the neighbors overlay was more visible) and added the little diamonds to represent the center of each province, thus making flying and sailing movement move easier, as previously you couldn't tell where the provinces are, what with no borders and all.

Then he made a faerun_small map, with the same background, but fewer provinces and thus a different speckling of diamonds to represent them.

The Pretender that is in the R'lyeh slot is not mine, but I had been in the first game as R'lyeh. I would be happy to continue on in the position, but didn't want to step on anyone's toes.
