The picture is the default that comes from uploading to the sims2 website. To create her I used BodyShop, SimPE, MilkShape, Sims2MeshTool, and PaintShop. Here's a somewhat better version, and my rendition of Lt. Uhura from TOS.
http://home.comcast.net/~anglewyrm/uhura3.jpg And a quick-ref list to step through the editing process: 1. Create a TEMP mesh to be edited * Open bodyshop -Create Parts -Start New Project -Create Clothing Select nearest match -Export Selected Textures -> MeshYeomanTEMP -Import To Game -> "TempYeoman" comment close bodyshop 2. Open SimPE -File Open -> SavedSims/###_MeshYeomanTEMP.package -PackedFiles->PropertySet_>Plugins get name: afbodyshortdressboots -FileClose 3. Create project folder Games&Mods/Sims2/Yeoman FileOpen -> The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Sims3D\Sims06.package find name in name map extract data to folder repeat for sims05, sims04, sims03 4. New file in SimPE (long index) packedFiles -> Add ...four <xml?> files from above SaveAs downloads/MESH_AngleWyrmYeoman04242005.package Plugins->FixIntegrity Paste new name and hit update, ok, save. Extract new copies of cres and shape to project folder Named modifiedcres, modifiedshape 5. Point temp skin at new mesh FileOpen SavedSims/###_MeshYeomanTEMP.package PackedFiles_>Add modifiedcres and modifiedshape 3D ID Reference->Plugins->"Package" popupwindow DELETE old resourcenode and shape from file editor Drag resourcenode and shape to file editor move new ones to top (resource first) "commit" changes, save 6. FileOpen-> downloads/MESH_AngleWyrmYeoman04242005 Geometric Data Container ->Export body.obj 7. SimPE FileOpen ->downloads/MESH_AngleWyrmYeoman04242005 geodata extract -> originalgmdc.5gd ------ EDIT CYCLE ------- Import, edit, export to editedbody.obj MESH TOOL Load3dFile -> editedbody.obj LoadSims2Mesh -> originalgmdc.5gd Save -> editedYeoman.smpe 8. SimPE FileOpen ->downloads/MESH_AngleWyrmYeoman04242005 geodata _> replace editedYeoman.smpe commit, save |

Re: OT: Check out this hot woman!
Wow,looks good, Nice work!
Can you make anybody with that program, besides Uhura? Say, Kes, Lieutenant Yar or maybe Jadzia Dax?? Or, actually, Lyta Alexander, she's the prettiest. |
Re: OT: Check out this hot woman!
Hey, EaX you have Poser? Could you give me an honest review of the program? I've been thinking of getting it, but I'm afread it might be too complicated. A few questions I have are as follows..
1) How easy is it to pose figures? 2) Does it come with a few male and female models? 3) What are it's export capabilities? 4) Which version do you have? Thanks for any info you can provide. Their site makes it sound like the second comming, and I am always hesitant to buy something where no shortcommings are listed or discussed on the forums. (not a bug is not a shortcomming. Missing features or a clunky UI that takes 2 years to learn is.. Can you say 3DS Max? ) Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |

1) it's easy but patience is required the first times 2) Yes, male, female, animals, clothing, etc, and few robots if my memory don't fails, but i may have downloaded (robots) them i don't remember. 3) i don't remeber right now and since i'm not at home now, i can't check out but i'll tell you later when i get back home. 4) i've Poser 4.0 i know there is a newer version but i never use it. i think the newest version is poser 5. I'm not an expert on poser so maybe more advanced stuff can be a bit more complicated but as far as i know is pretty easy to use. You should check their site, there should be a demo there. i hope. what stuff do you want to make? |

you can export files as: Image, RIB, BVH Motion, Painter Script, QuickDraw 3DMF, 3D Studio, DXF, MetaStream, Wavefront OBJ, Detailer Text. you can import these files: BVH Motion, QuickDraw 3DMF, 3D Studio, DXF, Wavefront OBJ, Detailer Text. i hope you find this usefull. |
Re: OT: Check out this hot woman!
What stuff do I want to make?.. Basically I just think that it would be nice to add some 'live figures' to renderings. It would help to convey scale ( tiny figure beside a huge building, large figure behind a tiny firefly, etc.) I mainly do Sci-Fi, so it would be nice to have a spacesuit accessory , otherwise I'd have to limit then to inside cockpits or looking out windows.
Anyway, Bryce 5.5 is getting ready to launch and it's aparently capable of importing poser models, but I'd need poser to actually 'pose' the model in anything other than the default position. That's the basics of why. Thanks for the info, Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: OT: Check out this hot woman!
well, i don't know about the spacesuits, it's possible someone made one..., anyways, if you have more question ask me, glad i could help.

Re: OT: Check out this hot woman!
Anyone here finish Leisure Suit Larry uncut? There's a feature in the game that lets you view the mesh/models of the various women (you have to buy them with game tokens). Ok, yes it's insanely immature, and just a silly way to check out some hot babes...BUT each woman's mesh is VERY different. And beautiful!
I don't think they are importable to anything on the market. But screenshots would be well worth having as reference for recreating them as a sharable resource. |
