Recently rediscovered this old favourite:

Thug: "What's that, some kind of fancy hair dryer?
Schlock: If by "hair" you mean "plasma", and by "dryer" you mean "cannon" then yes, it's a hair dryer.

Heh, reminds me of the time I cast polymorph on something and didn't even get to move again before I died. It went something like this:

You cast Polymorph on the monster.
It turns into a Chaos Vortex!
The Chaos Vortex breathes chaos at you.
You feel your life draining away.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You feel reality warping around you. (several monsters appear)
You feel weaker than you used to be.
You feel clumsier than you used to be.
You feel more sickly than you used to be.
You feel dumber than you used to be.
You feel less wise than you used to be.
You feel less charismatic than you used to be.
The Chaos Vortex breathes chaos at you.
You feel your life draining away.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost a level.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You have lost knowledge of <insert spell name here>.
You feel reality warping around you. (more monsters appear)
The <insert monster here> changes!
The <insert monster here> changes!
The <insert monster here> changes!
The <insert monster here> changes!
The <insert monster here> changes!

And so on, finally culminating with one of the summoned polymorphed monsters finishing my (now level 1) character with one blow. When I cast the initial polymorph that set it all off, I was somewhere around level 20-30, and at full health. Needless to say, I did not experiment with Polymorph again for a very long time, and I was extremely careful about it when I finally encountered a chaos vortex as a normal spawn for the first time.

'Dear friend, Today I memorized explosive runes!' - D&D joke. Not exactly a quote, but probably has been used in more than one game.

And my sig from another forum: ' 'I ready the picnic lunch! I ready the picnic lunch the dark forces of sauron made us...' - Dork Tower #1013'
