Hey Ball,

I was curious about the map you are using in the video. It looks like a map from Battle for Wesnoth. I was wondering how you extracted the map from the game. Also, did you have to manual insert the white dots for the provinces or is that a feature in the Map Forge, allowing you to specify where the provinces are? If you did do it manual, how did you map out the hexes to place the dots?

Thanks!

I could not remember, so I did some digging and found the original work folder. Turns out it was over 2 years ago that I did the Blitznoth map image.

I used screen captures from within the Wesnoth map editor and saved them as NE, NW, SE & SW. I then cleaned them up and pieced them back together in GIMP. The province centers were placed with an old map editor that I had started back in 2006-2007 called Dom2hexmap (or something like that). The same editor that I used to make my other hex style maps.

Image editing is not planned for the current Map Forge project.

Any chance the map forge tool is ready?

Perhaps we can at least have the beta version, thus if something draws you away from Dominions_3 the community will at least have the current map forge tool.

lol

I must admit that progress was slowed unexpectedly by a new relationship. Most pleasantly distracting... :D

...but progress continues!

The tool scripting is pretty much complete and mostly untested. Right now I am trying to clean up the neighbor finding code. No promises, but check back Sunday (November 1st). If things go smoothly I will devote an evening to compiling an early beta.

Thanks for the response! That is the same way I am using Wesnoth to do maps sans the hex map editor. :). Gratz on your new relationship and we are all eagerly awaiting Sunday!
