I did not get a reply from Zen, but I too used an unmodded pretender. I did explain to him why I ended up going with the VQ, though.

Ahh, so peaceful in the North it looks nice.
However it also looks a little cramped how is the elbow room for you boys and girls. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
Hopefully we will have a little more peace down here soon.

Any Last remarks Steerpike before you rub me out?

Grumble - Grumble.

Gosh! I have never been squished so quickly. Usually, I get a few more turns to live in my little pipe-dream that I am a strategic game powerhouse (and young, tall, thin and good looking).

Hey your not dead yet Pasha and you have certainly put up a good fight, see if you can get your Lord of the Wild up for another attack. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
To tell you the truth I think it was insane picking on two nations at once and I think I am very lucky to be doing ok.

"Giants victim"?
We are a peaceful peoples who prefer to till our frozen fields and drink a bit.
We have been forced to ...uhm... take care of Pans lands due to their incessant partying.
We the Giants Vow to not attack another Nation unless we are ourselves attacked.
Unfortunately we have two turns before this attack will come to pass.
Mistress Candace the spokesfiend for The Devil Queen has formally slapped my ambasador in the face with a rather nasty rusted spiked gauntlett. When his broken jaw was healed by a Gygja he made it known that war was inevitable.
You boys in the North have fun with your peace and tranquility.

Well those Northern nations don't look too trusting to me. I see basically everybodies lands since the water is all over and I see armies all over their borders like they are expecting to be invaded or they are ready to invade. I am expecting massive bloodshed in the north.

Bloody rivers

I think the north has been tired talking about phylosophy and true meaning of love, and the rivers are beginning to be blood tainted (I think Aku will like the taste of water afterwards).
It seems that everybody was waiting someone (me) making a little local war without importance to match the North War.
I think I'll not survive, but will be remembered as Serbia in WW1.
This only to alert that in the south and in the east there are very big and evil guys.

I'm just trying to compassionate someone ...

(Although, some goodie-two-shoes at Pan National News insists that I disclose for the record that Panther was honorable and unopportunistic in the 2nd Slugfest because he refrained from chomping me while Steerpike was crashing the Wild Lord's party.) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/Injured.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/Injured.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/Injured.gif

Unhappy giants

I have discovered on the Last turn that my pretender is a rather effective soloist( I dislike the SC term due to it being a bit over used and SUPER Combatant doesnt ring true for a Jarl or a mere pretender).
Unfortunately every other effective unit I have is dead. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
I am not sure why the game is accusing Boron of bing a cheater but I think that I read some info about the alchemist stone setting off the cheater detector in the Last patch. I will chose to believe this is the case until proven otherwise.
Overall not doing too bad after Last turn, and will try to hold off Abyssia for a few more turns for you Northern Peaceniks. I am up against a rocket scientist as my friend Pasha keeps drilling into me everytime I tell him of my troubles. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Well scientists, even rocket scientists are nerds so there. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
Dragonfire can you please die soon so I can concentrate on Panther! I mean holding on beyond every expectation two games in a row is ...well annoying for the parties concerned. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Unhappy giants

The Devil Queen was in council with her two most trusted advisors, Sir Deviant - Minister of War and Madam Candice - Minister of State.

The Queen: "You said Plan A was infallible! You said we would have the giant's capitol quite easily. What happenned?"
Sir Deviant: "Um, Stonebrow himself came to the rescue. And the people strongly believed in that false pretender, making him stronger than he really is."
Madam Candice: "My husband is correct. After all, my Queen, you did not participate in the battle as a counterbalance."
The Queen: "I know, but the people living there do not believe in me. You said it was far too dangerous for me to venture into such hostile lands."
Sir Deviant: "It is."
The Queen: "So I cannot help the war effort?"
Madam Candice: "Not Yet."
The Queen: "So what do we do now?"
Sir Deviant: "Plan B."
The Queen: "Yes, Plan B, Plan B!!! Always Plan B. And if that fails?"
Madam Candice: "Then there is Plan C."
The Queen: "I should have known..."

Yeah i don't know how it triggered . I was really shocked http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif .
I have the alchemist stone but iirc i didn't use it Last turn for alchemizing .

I could give someone not in the game my password to verify that everything is ok . I would suggest Thufir for this task .

Who thinks I should patch to 2.15?

If a majority thinks I should then I will disable quickhost and once everyone has completed their turns I will manually run the host and then run the patch before anyone takes another turn.

Let me know if this is something you think I should do or not.
